The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 905

No one took this guy, who dared not show his face, seriously. Some people present were even laughing at him.

However, when his intimidating presence blanketed the entire yard, their expressions shifted, and fear started growing in their hearts.

"He's in the Boneforging Realm!" someone yelled in shock, fear finally consuming him.

What did being in Boneforging Realm imply? This was a major realm after True Blood Realm. Few in the older generation of cultivators had reached this stage.

This was a Realm that could only be reached by a martial artist who had progressed onto forging his bones after having purified every single drop of blood in his body. It was certain that he would be extremely powerful. Everyone present was still young. Even if they were gifted, there was no way they could battle against a powerful cultivator in Boneforging Realm.

Aiden remained calm, though. He said with a laugh, "I think you've probably lived in some cave for too long, old man. We're in Yartford. Do you think you'll suffer no consequences after coming forward like that?"

The masked man laughed as well. "You're quite strong-willed, young man, to be able to remain calm despite my bearing. You're right. We're at Yartford. Unfortunately, though, we're in the countryside.

"If the banquet were held in the city, I wouldn't have dared to show myself. But here? Of course I harbor no reservations."

He clenched his fists. "Even if the nation's Protector is to appear at this moment, there's no guarantee I'll fear him."

"Are you sure about that?" said a voice that seemingly came from all directions.

A ray of light shone momentarily in the yard, and the masked man fell onto the ground with a heavy thump.

"Go on, young ones," said the voice.

No one present had seen clearly what had happened or what the man looked like. After the voice had left those words behind, the masked man disappeared as well. "Damn, was that the Protector?"

"He's exceptionally strong. That masked guy couldn't even take a hit from him."

"That's why my family elder told me to keep my head down in Yartford. He was right."noveldrama

Felix, who had long since woken up, could only marvel at the power of the nation. No matter how powerful the martial artists were, the nation would always be capable of suppressing them—the nation would be a mess otherwise. The power of the Protector who had visited prior made this clear.

"Oh, no!" His expression shifted as he shot up.

"What's going on?"

"What are you trying to do here, Felix?"

Jack and Ronan got up as well, confused about what was going on.

"Shoot! That old man released poison just now!" Felix said anxiously.

What poison could this be? Even he, a master healer, had failed to notice until his body had reacted to it.

"Hey! Stop yelling over there. You're making everyone anxious! There's no poison!" Ocean, who had long harbored resentment toward Felix, pointed at him in accusation. He was feeling great, so where was this so-called poison?

Felix didn't bother responding to the idiot Ocean. He called Xena immediately, saying, "We're in trouble. A big group of young martial artists attending the banquet at the Yartford countryside are dosed with poison. Come with your men, along with all the master healers. This poison is extremely lethal."

"I'll be there immediately!"

After the call ended, Felix performed acupuncture on himself to see if he could remove the venom from his body.

Someone called anxiously upon seeing that, "Hey, were we really dosed with poison? He's jabbing needles into his skin!"

Ocean rose and clapped his hands, saying with a smile, "There is no need to be anxious, everyone. He's just trying to gain clout by doing this."

Aiden looked uneasy. He knew that Felix wasn't someone like that. Considering Felix's skill in healing, it was possible that the old man had really released poison during his brief visit a really lethal poison at that.
