You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 6 Insult on Dignity

Elijah raised his eyes, his eyebrows slightly lifted, a commanding aura enveloping him without a hint of anger. “Hmm?”

Orion Russo gritted his teeth, “Forget it. For your happiness, I’ll swallow my pride.”

Elijah glanced at him, his deep, calm eyes cold and penetrating. “Let’s go.”

Xander started the car, driving away. As Orion Russo contemplated doing something for Freya Stone, he turned back only to find her walking towards him.

“Freya.” Orion Russo approached.

“I have to go back.” She smiled at Orion Russo.

Concern filled Orion Russo as he spoke, “Um, Freya, about your mother finding a matching heart, I’ll do my best to help you find a suitable one as soon as possible.”

Thinking about her mother, her heart tightened. She tried to conceal her emotions, but her voice betrayed her, quivering slightly as she asked, “Really?”

The heart was not like any other organ; it was challenging to wait, and some might never find a match.

“Thank you, Orion.” She struggled to express her gratitude, and her eyes welled up slightly.

“No need to be polite with me.” Orion Russo felt awkward. If it weren’t for Elijah opening doors for Liora Valentine, she would be one step closer to her dreams.

“I’ll drive you home.”

Freya Stone quickly declined, “No, thanks.”

She was not going back to the Stone family, so she refused.

Orion Russo didn’t insist.

After parting ways, Freya took a cab back to her villa. Realizing Elijah might never set foot there, she felt a sense of relief. Linda noticed she was less reserved than when she first moved in and asked with a smile, “Anything good? You seem quite happy.”

Bending down to change shoes in the entrance, she replied, “I really like living with just you, Linda, just the two of us.”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Linda quirked an eyebrow.

“So, am I redundant?”

This voice…

Freya Stone raised her head to see a man standing in the living room. His demeanor was cold, and his gaze, both lofty and seemingly tinged with disdain.

Had it not been for the financial magazines and television, she might not have recognized him as her ‘husband.’

She didn’t expect him to show up.

“Why… are you back?”

Freya couldn’t fathom his intentions. Didn’t he detest this marriage? He shouldn’t want to see her.

Elijah’s face darkened, and he spoke with a cold edge, “What, I need your permission to come back?”

Freya lowered her head; indeed, she had ‘invaded’ his territory.

“Sign it.”

Elijah tossed a divorce agreement onto the table. Freya glanced at it, unsurprised. It was reasonable for him to seek a divorce, but she couldn’t leave the marriage now; she had to wait for her mother’s surgery.

“Mr…” She didn’t know how to address him as she began to speak, “Can’t we…”

“Don’t want to divorce?” Elijah interrupted her. He seemed unsurprised by her reaction. If she were eager to leave, she wouldn’t have made the despicable request for him to marry her.

“Very well. Hope you won’t regret it.” Elijah walked out.

Clearly misunderstanding, Freya tried to explain. Her hurried steps caught the threshold, and her bag, accidentally, fell to the ground, contents scattered. She hurriedly picked them up, but something seemed missing. She found it near Elijah’s feet, almost instinctively reaching out to grab it, attempting to conceal it.

As her hand touched it, the pillbox was crushed. She looked up. Expressionless, Elijah stared at her, seemingly intrigued by her nervousness. Bending down, he picked up the scattered contents.

There should be two pills in the packaging yet only one remained. He turned it around, reading the label. He might not fully understand what this medication was, but the next line explained it–emergency contraception within 72 hours.

If he couldn’t comprehend this, he would be a fool.

His eyes lowered, fixed on the woman scrambling on the floor, and he spoke with a mocking tone, “On our wedding night, you sought another man?”

At this moment, she disgusted him. Freya’s fingers curled slowly. She suppressed the trembling and stood up. Facing his mockery, she remained silent.

“I didn’t want to marry you.” Her voice trembled.

Her apparent hypocrisy nauseated him. Elijah threw what he held onto her face. A thin line of blood appeared at the corner of her eye.

Freya instinctively closed her eyes. The pain on her face was nothing compared to the insult he just inflicted on her dignity. She bit her lip, bending down to pick up the pills, squeezing them tightly. The thin plastic cut into her palms.

“You like men, don’t you? I’ll fulfill your wish.” Elijah left.

However, just one night later, Freya Stone would understand the meaning behind his words. In the morning, as she prepared to go to work, Xander appeared at the villa.
