Chapter 817
The moment Sherilyn laid eyes on the car, she instinctively glanced at the license plate. Sure enough, it belonged to Gilbert.
As the car came to a stop, Gilbert was the first to step out. Seeing her, he paused, his brow furrowing in hesitation. Was he debating whether to greet her? He had promised himself not to 'bother' her anymore...
With a firm resolve, he averted his gaze, silently walking around to the back of the car to retrieve a wheelchair from the trunk. Then, he maneuvered the wheelchair up the steps, through the doorway, and into the foyer, making sure it was securely opened and ready.
After that, he went back down the steps to the passenger side of the car. Muttering under his breath, “Careful now, hold tight," he leaned in. “Yeah, got it," came the soft reply.
The next moment, Gilbert emerged carrying Caroline from the car, making his way up the steps with a gentle and steady pace before carefully placing her in the wheelchair. He then fetched a blanket, draping it over her, "It's chilly, don't catch a cold... Wait here for me, I'll go park the car."
"Sure," Caroline chuckled softly, nodding her head.
As Gilbert turned to leave, his eyes fell on Sherilyn's slender figure. The temperature had dropped tonight, and there she was, clad only in a T-shirt. Was she cold? Seeing her arms wrapped around herself, she probably was. But now, he had no right to care...
Gilbert looked away, got back into the car, and drove off to the parking area, acting as if Sherilyn was invisible.
Sherilyn glanced at her phone, wondering, Where's Edgar?
"Sherilyn."
Suddenly, Caroline appeared from the foyer, pushing her wheelchair towards her with a smile playing on her lips. "Long time no see." "Yeah.” Sherilyn responded noncommittally.
Caroline wondered, What does she want? There wasn't much for them to talk about.
"But you know." Yet, Caroline wasn't about to let her off the hook, her voice tinged with mischief. “Earlier, you and Gilbert, you didn't talk. Like strangers? What, broke up and now you're not even friends or like siblings?"
Sherilyn frowned, her expression one of disdain, “You're right.”
"Oh, really?"
Ignoring Sherilyn's sarcasm, Caroline's eyelids fluttered, suddenly revealing, "Well, you might not know then, Gilbert and I are together now." Sherilyn stiffened, her eyes betraying a flicker of shock. "You heard me."
Watching Sherilyn's astonished

reaction, Caroline couldn't help but smirk, We've both moved out of the Johnson's place, now, we live together."
Ah, Sherilyn's tips parted slightly, they... were cohabiting. Surprised? A bit, but not completely. Caroline had always been determined, even
ruthless in pursuit of her gold
Gilbert had harbored feelings for her, after all.
"You...?" Caroline raised an eyebrow in triumph, "Nothing to say?"This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
What was there for Sherilyn to say?
"Oh."
Suddenly, Sherilyn laughed, "Then congratulations, you got what you wanted." "Thank you."
Without missing a beat, Caroline accepted the congratulations'. Her gaze hardened, her voice lowering with a hint of warning. "Sherilyn, you better keep it that way... from now on, treat Gilbert as a stranger don't talk to him, not a word!"
Sherilyn was taken aback. Was this a declaration of ownership? Cohabiting sure changed things, emboldening Caroline. "Sherilyn!"
From the entrance, Edgar jogged in. Sherilyn looked up to see Edgar already by her side, still catching his breath.
