When the Boss’ Lady Became His Sister-in-law

Chapter 35

The FitzGerald family.

Kristin had no money and had to run from the hospital to the FitzGerald’s Mansion. The clock was ticking past 8:35.

She was five minutes late to her job.

Vincent looked like he was waiting on purpose in the yard, wearing a nasty scowl.

“You’re late. Vincent checked his watch, his voice low and heavy

Kristin hung her head and made for the house. She was only there to take care of Ruby. There was no need to play into Vincent’s drama.

“Hold it right there.” Vincent reached out to stop Kristin. I’m asking you one last time. Who is

that man?”

He was obsessed with knowing who the guy was to have made Kristin cheat on him.

If it wasn’t Caleb, then who? Tam?

But he’d checked, and it wasn’t Tam.

Too many faces were at that hotel that night, and Vincent couldn’t put his finger on the guy.

Not many in Kristin’s circle would dare have a secret fling with her.

“I’d like to know that, too,” Kristin said, pushing his hand away.

“What do you mean? You’re still playing dumb at this point.” Vincent glared at her, anger bubbling up..

Kristin had a few choice words in her heart, too, but even if she couldn’t bring herself to say them, she felt like calling him a freaking moron.

She never thought Vincent was this kind of idiot before.

It seemed he wouldn’t believe her no matter what she said, just hellbent on the idea that she was protecting that guy, unwilling to spill the beans.

She had curses in her heart, but Kristin didn’t dare let them out. She could only bow her head in silence.

She couldn’t afford to stir the pot.

“You haven’t learned a thing about remorse all these years,” Vincent said with a sarcastic chuckle. “I’ve been giving you chances.” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Kristin hung her head in silence, then looked up at Vincent. “What chances?”

“I’m waiting for you to come clean and tell me who that guy is!” Vincent was seething.

No matter how angry he got no matter how much it hurt to fat her, Kristin wouldn’t make a peop the punching vetten, diving people crazy

like

Why are you a hellbent on knowing who he is? Are you mad that I betrayed you, or you can’t stand net koowing whe outshone you, made me unable to resist being with him, betraying you?” Kustm was usually light lipped, fearing any word might bring disaster.

She almost went mute in prison and could go months without uttering a word. If it weren’t for the stink trying to engage her in conversation, she could go a whole year silent.

Does it make any difference? Vincent looked at Kristin with disgust. Tell me who he is, and maybe I can let you off the hook

Your so–called chances are just grilling me over and over. I tell you, and you don’t believe me. What do you want me to say to please you?” Kristin was at a loss. She didn’t know what to do anymore

It had been six years. Before going to prison, Kristin kept explaining, crying out, and screaming

But did he ever believe her? No. He just kept on hurting her, pushing her deeper into the

abyss.

Vincent was infuriated by Kristin, hating her defeated demeanor and the lack of light in her eyes. Though timid and meek, she didn’t seem to care about him.

The former Kristin used to be so cheerful, proud like a swan, her eyes shining only for him.

But Kristin’s gaze was indifferent at this point, devoid of light or emotion. Nothing but fear and timidity remained.

That made Vincent even angrier.

“Kristin, why are you late?” Before Vincent could press Kristin further about the man from the past. Ruby came over, hugging his arm.

Kristin hung her head again, still silent.

“Go get me a shovel in the backyard shed. I want to plant flowers myself,” Ruby ordered. Kristin to the shed.

Vincent clenched his fists, his Adam’s apple bobbing, but in the end, he said nothing.

He watched as Kristin headed to the backyard.

“She wants her child to get into school right away, right? We’re just helping her out,” Ruby said coldly, malice in her eyes, but her words sounded kind.

Vincent stayed silent, feeling inexplicably irked. He withdrew his arm and went into the living

room.

Ruby watched the shed with a malicious gaze. Once Kristin walked through that door, Ruby wouldn’t have to worry about Vincent being snatched away by her again because Vincent

was clear about how disgusting the butler’s son was. Vincent wouldn’t go near any woman again the butler’s son had touched.

Vincent had resolved to hand Kristin to the butler’s son, and Ruby was quite pleased.

“Hmph.” With a cold snort, Ruby also entered the living room.

Whether Kristin could survive was up to fate. If she resisted, she’d trigger that guy’s sadistic streak. The guy was a psycho. If he hit Kristin, there’s no way she’d come out alive.
