Chapter 45 Get Lost
Chapter 45 Get Lost
Mia Cavendish returned to Liam Croft’s apartment alone. Though it was quiet inside, she could still
smell the scent of another woman, Amber Currie.
Frowning with disgust, Mia slammed the door.
In a bad mood, she took out the iPad and passed the time by checking updates on Weibo. There was a
post of “Buying Sanitary Napkins for His Girlfriend” on today's trending topic list.
Mia clicked to open it. Having glanced over the content, she looked more and more grave until her
whole face was contorted with fury and jealousy.
On the most popular post, there was a picture, which showed the profile of a man who was buying
sanitary napkins for his “girlfriend” in 7-ELEVEN! She recognized the man at once; after all, she
couldn’t be more familiar with him.
Amber was on her period.
Liam was buying sanitary napkins at the convenience store.
The hatred, just like the raging wildfire, ignited the wrath of Mia immediately and finally got her lost her
mind. She thought of nothing but tearing apart that innocent face of Amber.
Slamming the iPad into the wall, Mia rushed to Amber’s door like a whirlwind and banged on it.
Amber, who was reading papers, was startled by the bangs on the door. She then ran quickly to open
the door.
No sooner had she opened the door and seen who it was out there, a resounding slap landed on her
face.
Stunned by the slap, Amber covered the part of her face and looked at Mia ablaze with anger.
“Amber Currie! You really have something on you! Does it feel so good to steal someone's boyfriend?
You had my boyfriend buy sanitary napkins for you. How dare you! You bitch!” Pointing the finger at
Amber, Mia looked very terrifying.
Mia found out about the sanitary napkins. Covering the part of her face, Amber explained hastily,
“Listen to me. It’s not what you think. My period came, and Liam happened to ...”
“Shut up! Don’t you ever, ever say the word Liam! You do not deserve it!” Mia wouldn’t listen to her
explanation at all. “You want money, right? I can give you that. Please stop pestering my fiancé!” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Mia turned around and rushed into her bedroom, then she took out a check and threw it in Amber’s
face, “Is 500,000 enough?!”
Bit by bit, Amber’s guilty faded away. She raised her head and kept her eyes on Mia coldly, “You are so
pathetic, Mia! If you doubt Liam and I are having an affair, you should seek Liam, rather than me for
confirmation. After all, he is your fiancé!”
Mia sneered, “If you hadn’t seduced Liam on purpose, would he buy sanitary napkins for you?”
Liam Croft was a man who always kept himself aloof from others. Though dating with her for several
years, he never bought anything for her at the convenience store. Yet, he bought sanitary napkins for
another woman! A sharp pain pierced Mia’s heart like needles. She glowered at Amber and felt like
slapping her face once again.
“You’ve sweet, kind and considerate around men, yet in the presence of women, you’ve betrayed
yourself and lost all reason. So much for a fair-skinned and pretty lady from a decent family! I do pity
you, Mia.” Amber said in a cold and calm voice, imitating Liam’s way of speaking.
She knew that would be quite annoying.
Not surprisingly, Mia suddenly raged, and almost screamed, “Get lost! Get out of Liam's apartment! You
are not welcome here!”
Amber looked at Mia’s face and smiled softly, “You are not in a position to say this. If you want me to
get lost, tell Liam to come and say that himself.”
After saying that, Amber slammed the door without giving Mia a chance to react.
Outside the door, there came Mia’s frantic kicking sound. With her back against the door, Amber
slipped down slowly and squatted upon the ground.
She buried her face in her arms, weeping a flood of tears.
Why? Why did she have to suffer such a humiliation? Why should she be called a “bitch” though she
was innocent?
She knew that Liam was not the right person she could date with. Mia needn’t remind her over and
over again. She also knew she and Liam, were from different worlds. Her only connection, with him,
was this contract.
Amber chocked, trying hard to restrain herself from crying out. She didn’t want Mia to hear her crying.
Even being humiliated and belittled, she would straighten her back and keep smiling.
