Chapter 16: I Need A Job

Chapter 16: I Need A Job

I made my way through the hallway over to the library when I saw Tamzyn walking my way with a little

girl wearing a long black dress and a black headband. I stood before the library door and waited on her

to make it up to me. She grinned when she reached me and pulled me in for a hug which I returned.

"Kelsey. This is my baby sister, Jade. She's not my biological sister but I sure do love her like she is,"

I grinned. That's cute. Everything about Tamzyn was so refreshing. I looked at Jade, why is she a black

witch when Tamzyn isn't. Some black and white witches still don't mix because this is all too new for

everyone and so no one trusts the other. And where do I fall? Black or white? Last night's dream had

me fucked and I don't know with whom to share it. I low-key feel embarrassed to go to Mr Winston or

Mrs Voss because I don't know what to make of myself.

"Nice meeting you, Jade," I grinned at the little girl who stuck her tongue out at me, it came as a

surprise.

"Jade!"

"I'm on my inside. I wanna use the Jay-Moon to find a job, I live alone and want to find a way to make

an income so that I can take care of myself,"

Tamzyn raised her eyebrows and leaned closer to me. "What's a Jay-Moon?"

I couldn't help but let out a small smile. "It's initials. Lemme show you,"

I led they followed.

"If it's initials," Jade replied, "then I'm Jay-Moon too,"

We walked in silence. The library is huge, eight storeys high and very wide. It has a variety of magic

books, different types of magic including magic from the other dimensions including earth. I've never

had an interest in another type of magic because it's useless studying it. Many witches can't even do it

because we're built different or just different in general. How on earth can I do gnome magic? I'm not a

gnome.

We walked to rows upon rows of large tables each having a built-in Jay-Moon, many students sat there

and did their research. I sat down a grey block. It looks like a neatly carved block-shaped stone.

Tamzyn and Jade sat down next to me and I proceeded to start the Jay-Moon. I pressed it down and a

large white shinning moon popped up.

On the screen was the guide, Jay-Moon, she was inspired by the real Jaydan Moon whose idea the

whole thing is but she couldn't create it so she told the other Mayhems to make it for her. They even

named it after her and built it up from her essence. Jay-Moon greeted us like she is supposed to. Jade

greeted back which caused Tamzyn and I to chuckle.

'How may I help you?'

"I'm looking for work. No experience. I'm Fifteen if that'll help,"

'I'm on it,'

She did her twirl which causes a whirlwind to blow on the soft screen. The gentle breeze blew on our

faces which seemed to intrigue Tamzyn, I personally love winds. Especially strong ones. The whirlwind

ended and Jay-Moon stood there with her hands behind her back wearing a soft pink maiden dress.

"Why don't you come work with me at the orphanage?"

I sunk into my seat and looked at her. Visible disgust on my face.

"Not only do I hate children but I hate charity type of work. I'm too selfish for that,"

Tamzyn laughed. "Wow. At least you can admit it,"

I nodded my head. "Yeah. I don't like helping people unless it works out in my favour as well,"

I looked at Tamzyn and grinned. She is going to love the next part, I would know because I come from

earth and not many local witches know that this technology doesn't exist there. I stuck my hand through

the screen. It is always so soft and feels cool and slimy. I pulled my hand back and pulled out a list of

all the jobs that I could apply to. When I turned to look at the two their eyes were huge.

"What the fuck?" Jade asked me.

"I second that,"

"If you really wanna deep search you can even go into the screen where Jay-Moon will guide you from

there. Others also send posts and emails by putting it in the screen,"

Tamzyn shook her head and scoffed. "That's impressive."

The bell rang which alarmed the little one. "I must leave!" She stormed out without a goodbye which

made Tamzyn giggle as she shook her head. Jade is a character.

"Can I share something with you? I don't have friends and don't know what to do,"

Tamzyn held my hand and nodded her head. I could feel the warmth radiating from her which made me

feel at ease. "I had a strange dream where I woke up at a school for grey witches. But I know dreams

aren't just dreams. They never are,"

Tamzyn looked past me. Like she was thinking back on all her dreams as well. "Every single dream

aren't just dreams?"

I nodded my head. "They're spiritual and spirituality is real. It is everything and you must understand

spirituality, just letting you know since you're a beginner,"Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

She nodded her head. "So what do you think your dreams are?"

I shrugged because I honestly had no clue. I sighed and looked back into her brown eyes, "my juice

was white but tasted bitter,"

She furrowed her brows and scratched her head. "That's not right. Is it?"

I rose to my feet and shook my head. "Not one bit. Are you still coming over to my place this

weekend?"

She lit up and rose to her feet as well. We should start heading to class. "Good. I was thinking maybe

you can come sleepover sometime. I don't like being alone in that big house,"

She grinned. "Yeah. Why not this Friday? Then I'll be there Saturday,"

I liked the sound of that. I would have to plan an epic sleepover because I would love for her to return

shortly. We headed to our classrooms and only saw each other at lunch again.
