Chapter 10
"Levi,
take
me to the servant room," Shakira said firmly.
Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room felt tense. Walter's handsome face shifted through various expressions before landing on a frown. He shot Shakira an irritated look as he turned his wheelchair and rolled upstairs. "You brought this on yourself!" Levi exhaled a sigh of relief and asked the servants to get a room ready before turning to Shakira. "Ms. Nelson, Mr. Lopez can come off as cold, but deep down, he has a kind heart. He might misunderstand you for now, and I believe he'll recognize your true value in time." Shakira smiled slightly. "I know him." Her words meant more than they seemed. Levi looked over yet was unable to read Shakira's expression. "Ms. Nelson, did you know Mr. Lopez before?" he asked instinctively.
Shakira didn't didn't answer directly. Instead, she asked back, "Aren't you worried I might be a bad person with ulterior motives toward Walter?"

Shakira paused. "He'll be fine."
Levi looked at her, taken aback by her confidence. Somehow, he started to feel a flicker of hope inside-maybe it was fate that brought Shakira to help Walter.
Levi led Shakira to the servant room. She glanced around, surprised that this room was even bigger and better furnished than her own back at the Nelson residence. She couldn't help but wonder if the Nelsons were just stingy or if the Lopez family was incredibly rich. Levi cleared his throat. "The servant rooms are full, so we're temporarily turning a guest

for tonight."
Shakira chuckled. "Thanks, Levi."

Once Shakira left, the entire Nelson family rushed to comfort Yvette, trying to keep her from feeling guilty or upset.
Shakira remained "melancholic" through the night and eventually turned down Rebecca's offer to share a room. Once her door was closed, her previous expression crumbled as she initiated a video call.
On the other end, Yvette's birth parents, Lago and Jessie Smith, were excitedly counting their gifts from that night. "Yvette, can you believe how many gifts we got? They're worth over six hundred thousand dollars!" Yvette rolled her eyes, completely barefaced in her sharp and harsh attitude, without a slight hint of kindness when she was with the Nelson family. "Seriously? That diamond necklace Mitchell gave me is worth 1.5 million dollars. What's so impressive about 600 thousand?" thousand?
She then questioned them, "Didn't we agree that tonight we'd ruin Shakira's reputation and force her to donate a kidney? What kind of useless people have you hired? They couldn't even handle a woman!" The memory of that sleazy guy's smirk made her blood boil.
Jessie was just as furious. "That little brat doesn't have any real talent. She just got lucky."
Yvette exploded. "Yeah, right! Shakira's just lucky! She has all the good fortune, getting everything everyone dreams of without lifting a finger. Meanwhile, I seem doomed to fail at everything I try. I even ended up with a fake antique." Lago frowned. "What about that antique... the one you got for Felix?"
Yvette's eyes reddened. She had played the victim in front of the Nelson family, but here, she unleashed her true feelings, fierce and raw. "It's all Shakira's fault. If she hadn't come back, none of this would've happened."
Seeing Yvette in this state, Jessie worried she might act rashly and reminded her, "But if it weren't for Shakira, we wouldn't be where we are now."
Yvette shot her a glare. "I know that!"
Since childhood, Yvette always knew she was unluckier than others. But it didn't matter; she was the beloved daughter of the Nelson family. She wanted nothing and never had to fend for herself. So what if her luck was bad? She was born into privilege, and that alone made her feel ent made her feel entitled.
However, that sweet dream shattered on the night before Mitchell's twelfth birthday.
Lago and Jessie came to Yvette, claiming they were her real parents. They insisted she wasn't truly a Nelson and that the real one was named ra. They said that during their time at the hospital, they switched the two babies at birth.
Yvette
couldn't believe it. The idea was far too outlandish for her to accept, and she tried to ignore them. But deep down, she was scared.
She had always soaked in her family's love, acting spoiled and demanding. Her older brothers treated her like a princess and would do anything for her just because she was their little sister. What if they found out she wasn't even related to them? Would they still love her the same? Hence, with with Mitchell's birthday coming up, Yvette wanted to plan the perfect gift for him. Little did she know that while she was striking a pose on the beach, eagerly watching Mitchell get emotional, a sudden wave would come crashing down, sweeping her away. When Yvette finally woke up in a hospital room, everything felt surreal. Lago, seizing the moment when the Nelson family was distracted, slipped a baby tooth into her hand. "This is Shakira's tooth. If you want to survive, keep it close." Yvette dismissed Lago's nonsense and almost threw the dirty tooth away. But after almost losing her life, she was too weak to do anything but lie there. Miraculously, by the next day, she felt revived. From that moment on, she realized her fate was somehow linked to Shakira's. Taking a deep breath, Yvette snapped back from memories and said, "Shakira has cut ties with the Nelson family. You planned to bring her back to the family, but now, all your efforts were in vain."
"What?" the Smith couple gasped in shock. "Is that brat insane? She's willing to give up her life with the Nelson family and back to us?"
Yvette
rolled her eyes. "If she can ditch the Nelsons, why would she care about you?" Jessie è let out an embarrassed laugh.
Yvette pressed on, "She met a wealthy businessman and picked up today in a Maybach."
was
"Seriously? Is she really getting involved with that kind of person?" Jessie's eyes widened.
Yvette felt annoyed. "How would I know? All I know is she went off on the Nelson family, shouted at them, and even left with disownment papers. So forget about your plan to get her kidney, She's cut all ties with Nelsons and won't fight me for them." "No way!" Lago shot back. Even without Shakira, you're still not the Nelson family's real daughter. Now that the truth is out, do you really think things will go back to normal?"
His gaze was intense as she stared at Yvette. "We need Shakira's kidney!"
It was 7 AM at Eastlake Valley Estate, and Walter was still lost in his dreams when he suddenly felt a strange tingling in his
ear...
