The Secrets of the Elements

Chapter 10: Maya's Other Vision

Chapter 10: Maya's Other Vision

"I hope she didn't see us," said Ray, panting. Advika pressed her feet and shut her eyes. Maya and

Zarna almost lied down in the backseat of Tej's car.

"Let's head home," said Ray as Tej hit the engine.

"I hope that Rutuja didn't see us else it'll be difficult to go to the library again," said Maya, breathing

heavily. "That was close," whispered Advika, panting.

"You girls, how do you get tired so soon?" said Tej. "You guys seriously need to go to the gym with me."

"We just ate, Tej, that's why," defended Zarna. "Where are we heading to?"

"My house," said Tej. "Your parents and sister aren't home?" asked Ray. "No," replied Tej, his eyes

fixed on the traffic ahead.

"I'm glad you're back from the training," said Rutuja as she kept her hand on Rishi's hand. "The training

was awesome, especially the ones with," his voice dropped to a whisper, "werewolves."

Rishi wore a black shirt and jeans, which made him look fair than he already was. He had styled his

hair into subtle spikes; his thin lips curled into a smile as he held Rutuja's hand.

"I know," said Rutuja. "It's difficult in the beginning, but it becomes interesting and easy with time."

Rutuja wore a black wrap top and blue jeans with it. She had left her hair open and wore studs.

"Daksh, does he still trouble you?" asked Rishi. Rutuja let out a sign. "Yes, but I know how to handle

him now."

"Of course you're a strong girl," said Rishi and smiled.

"I'm concerned about the book, I hope it's safe wherever it is," she said and sipped her cold coffee. "It

will be," assured Rishi and took a bite of the burger.

Rishi was Rutuja's childhood friend. They had done their schooling together; both orphans brought up

by Dai Ma. Rutuja was a year elder than Rishi. She had finished her swordery and martial arts training

before him and was his senior.

Ray leaned on the white wall of Tej's spacious room as Tej switched on his laptop.

A sliding closet kept opposite the bed had a 3D moon lamp placed on the small table near it. A set of

speakers kept on the floor in one corner of the room.

Advika's eyes fell on the pile of Physics books next to the speakers.

Tej was pursuing his bachelors in Physics.

"The heart is the most powerful source of electromagnetic energy in the human body, producing the

largest rhythmic electromagnetic field of any of the body’s organs," said Tej going through his notes.

"What does that have to do with our mission?" asked Maya.

Advika sat on the white as Zarna sat on the yellow bean bag.

"Magnetic signals generated by the heart can affect individuals around us," said Tej and kept the book

aside.

Maya rolled her eyes. "We're no physics expert," she said.

"I'm talking about energy here," Tej began. "We should study about energy, how it works, how can we

use it."

"Then psi balls would be best to start with," suggested Advika. "I agree," said Ray and walked up to Tej.

Tej opened a site that told about psi balls.

"Then, when and where do we begin," quizzed Zarna getting up from the bean bag. "We should learn

to feel the energy within us," said Advika. "We already do," said Maya and crossed her arms.

"Yes, but it so happened that somebody wasn't able to handle it," said Advika.

Maya opened her mouth to say something but then chose to stay quiet.

"Oh my God!" said Maya and looked at Tej. "The boy."

"What boy?" said Ray, puzzled.

"The boy you bumped into, Tej, at the cafe this morning," said Maya.

"What about him?" asked Tej. "He was... I have something to tell," said Maya. "After Advika's vision, I

had one more vision, I'm sorry, I was going to tell but, just slipped out of my mind," said Maya.

"Wow, such an important thing slipped out of your mind, that's wonderful," said Advika and crossed her

arms.

"Tej," began Maya. "This guy you bumped into," said Maya and sat beside him. "I saw you both fight in

the forest."

"How's that even possible?" wondered Advika. "I don't know, but, I'm sure it was him," said Maya.

"Those guys may have some connection with the book then," said Ray.

"Those guys?" said Zarna, puzzled.

"Rutuja and that guy Tej bumped into," said Ray. "There's a possibility that the guy had come to meet

Rutuja there," said Advika. "Quite possible," added Tej. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

"I wish we could confront them," said Zarna.

"It would be a foolish act, we're trying to keep this a secret," said Ray.

"We must be alert," said Maya. "And together, as much as possible," added Tej. "This mission needs

our full dedication."

"The book chose you, and you chose us," said Zarna. Tej smiled. "I could not think of anybody else," he

began. "Advika, good with books. Maya, a paranormal studies student, you, Zarna, a law student, and

Ray, my best friend."

"Yes," said Ray. "It's important to have a law student when you're planning on breaking a dozen rules."

Ray chuckled as his friends smiled. "Very funny," said Zarna.
