Higgins hesitated but couldn't help voicing his concern. "Did you notice anything different about Ms. Frey this time?"

Ms. Lovett was taken aback. "She seemed normal to me. Ms. Frey has always been polite and kind."

Higgins frowned. "Who told you I'm talking about that? I've felt that Ms. Frey has changed... Something about her eyes and expression felt off, especially when she looked at Mr. Nathaniel. It gave me a strange feeling."

Ms. Lovett laughed. "You're overthinking it. You're not a mind reader, how can you notice that many details."

More than an hour passed before Frey and Nathaniel came downstairs to eat.

Nathaniel had restrained himself, otherwise, they wouldn't have come down so quickly.

Frey was a bit annoyed and didn't want to talk to him, while he followed her with a look of light and warmth in his eyes.

"Eat more!" Nathaniel piled Frey's bowl so high with food that it almost overflowed.

After dinner, Frey suggested visiting her mother at East Saeville Nursing Home.

Nathaniel had important meetings at his company, so he asked the driver to take Frey there.

This time, Frey didn't refuse the driver and bodyguards he sent with her.

She was no longer just a recently released convict as she was the future wife of the president of Technologent Group.

She stopped by Peyton's cafe to

share the news. Peyton was speechless at first, then dragged her

to the small kitchen in the back.

"Let me check if you have a fever," Peyton said, touching Frey's forehead. "You forgave Nathaniel just like that?" Frey hid the bitterness in her eyes and looked at Peyton. "What else can I do? Is there another way to escape him?" Peyton thought back to their previous attempts to hide in Brusville, which Nathaniel found out in less than a week. Hiding wasn't an option. But marrying him so soon was surprising.

"Then, I give you my blessing," Peyton said. She grabbed Frey's hand and looked at her intently. "Frey, don't live in hatred. Do what makes you happy and be kind to yourself."

Frey felt warmth in her heart and hugged her friend, whispering, "I'm really lucky to have met you."

Peyton playfully slapped her back. "Enough with the mushy talk!"

Frey left the cafe and headed to East Saeville Nursing Home, to her mother's ward.

Since this was Nathaniel's territory, the doctors and nurses were attentive, taking great care of Linda.

When Frey entered her mother's ward, she noticed a large bouquet of daisies in a glass vase on the bedside table.

The lighting was perfect, the room was clean, and there was a faint fragrance of flowers mixed with the smell of disinfectant.
