The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 369 Healing Gestures

"But what about my son? What about Frey?"

He sighed deeply, "It's really difficult!"

Koen didn't know how to respond, so he took Nathaniel to the apartment building in Swiss Garden.

Nathaniel asked Koen to wait outside while he used the password to unlock Frey's door. As he entered, he was startled to find that Frey wasn't there. Why was she up so early or hadn't returned yesterday?

Yet there was still some heat in the kitchen, suggesting she had come back to live here alone the previous night and made breakfast this morning. The dining and living areas were clean and tidy, indicating no one was currently around.

"Frey! Frey!" Nathaniel urgently called out as he pushed open the bedroom, guest room, and even the study door. But there was no sign of her.

Frey must have just left for the day. It was past seven in the morning, and her sports equipment was still on the shelf, suggesting she hadn't gone for

a run.

Where could she have gone?

Panicking, Nathaniel quickly called her and was relieved when she answered promptly.

"Frey, where are you?" he asked hurriedly.

Frey's voice was calm. "I'm at the company. I had a collaboration with Lloyds's Jewelry, and I need to finalize some plans. I haven't finished everything yet, so I'm working on it now."

Nathaniel frowned, sensing that Frey was not in the right state.

She didn't seem to be angry or resentful, or even question him about whether a brother or a woman was more important.

Instead, she just went to work overtime at Andala Corp.

"Frey," Nathaniel wanted to say something but struggled to find the right words.

He glanced at his watch, turned, and left the apartment. He called Ocean Villa and asked Ms. Lovett to prepare Frey's favorite dishes and stew some soup. Then he drove to Andala Corp.

By the time he arrived, it was rush hour, and employees were streaming in and out of the building.

Frey was in her office, revising a manuscript for a collaboration with Lloyds's Jewelry, which was to be showcased at Pontenaro Fashion Week Her mind was in turmoil and she found solace in focusing on her work.

Outside the office, there were footsteps and excited murmurs.

Frey barely noticed, assuming it was Mandy coming by to chat and update her on recent company events.

"Mandy, if you discuss with the Lloyd

Group, the first draft will be ready soon and can be revised three times. They can offer suggestions, but the final decisions lie with us..." Frey trailed off as she looked up and saw Nathaniel standing in front of her.

He looked haggard, with dark circles and bloodshot eyes. Holding a large insulated lunch box, he greeted her with a tired smile.

"Mr. Nathaniel?" Frey's formal address left Nathaniel momentarily speechless.noveldrama

After a long pause, he finally

managed to say, "I noticed you left

early, so was worried that you

hadn't had breakfast. I asked M

Lovett to prepare some food and soup for you. Please, enjoy it while it's still hot."

"Thank you, Mr. Nathaniel," Frey replied with a smile.

Nathaniel could no longer hold back and sat down on the sofa opposite her desk. Exhausted, he pulled out a half pack of cigarettes that Koen had given him, but after a moment of contemplation, he put them away.

He looked at Frey and said with a weary smile, "Why are you so formal? Make sure you have a good breakfast. You need to relax and not work yourself to death. Rest up and then get back to work."

Frey opened the lunch box, and the aroma of matsutake soup filled the air. It smelled of Ms. Lovett's excellent cooking skills, her specialty was always the stew.
