Rest for today you’ve been through a lot
Requirement of a divorce
Meanwhile!
Mrs. Pinnock’s car was turning into the compound. After getting out of her car and walking towards the door, she noticed the door was wide open, out of curiosity she turned around looking about the compound and saw that Nearce’s car was parked unjustly as the driver’s door was left open.
“I Want A Divorce!!!” Jhonia’s voice yelled from above the stairs, Mrs. Pinnock’s bag slid down into her palm upon hearing Jhonia’s words. She walked up to the door, as she stepped up and stood on the steps of their house she turned facing the outside..
“History has repeated itself in your son, can you see what you have done?” Mrs. Pinnock said, with her eyes closed and her head lifted to the sky. She then walked inside, closing the door behind her, and went straight to her room.
“You promised me you would never see her again just yesterday and today. You went right to her, how can you be this heartless? How is it that you can live with yourself? Do you not have any conscience?”
Jhonia yelled at him and asked? Mrs. Pinnock got up from the single couch, when she asked him how he lived with himself, knowing he lied and made promises. She begins walking towards the door when Jhonia asks him..
“You could do all that you were doing as long as I never found out! But honestly, you don’t give a damn. If I found out. You don’t care if no one else finds out. You don’t care who you Hurt! As long as your mother never finds out. That is all you care about. The humiliation you bring me right up to this very moment, you never allow a chance to pass you by to remind me of how parents’ less i am and how poor I am. I have never, not once asked you to marry me! Your mother brought me here, and you let her make that choice for you. Even though the pain you bring me… I was this close to losing myself to you! But from the very beginning, it was never me that you loved. It was her, it’s always her. From the party. I wanted to make sure that you weren’t behind that door, and even though I never got there! The video was enough. You made promises you didn’t keep! Just yesterday Nearce, you promised me you would “Never” See her again but today! There you were “shopping” with her, yet you are always “busy” when it comes to me.”
Jhonia let everything out, as if she couldn’t hold back anymore she put everything that was on her chest on the table. All the pain she felt, all the humiliation she received from Nearce, in which she never asked for nor did she deserve. Not caring who would hear her, she releases everything letting it out all that she had hidden within her all this time. Mrs. Pinnock stood outside in tears, hurting. The daughter she had is leaving. Jhonia stood before Nearce as he stared at her!
“Jho”
“Don’t you dare call my parents’ less and poor name inside that rich mouth of yours. I said it before and I’m going to say it again. Nearce Pinnock, I want. No, that’s not right. I “need” a divorce. You weren’t thinking about the cost so henceforth neither will I. I don’t want to see you. So go back to her and leave me alone.” Jhonia said, wiping her face from tears, calling his first and last name, telling but she corrected herself. It’s not what she wants but it’s something she needs. A divorce. She sobs and begins to walk away. Nearce grabbed her, hugging her.
“Let go! Get your dirty hands off me! Let me go!” Jhonia yelled at him, trying to get away from him but he held onto her tightly.
“I am sorry, Jhonia. I am, I never meant to hurt you. I was too caught up in not getting caught that I forgot the pain it would bring. I’m sorry, baby please”
“Forgive me? That’s what you said yesterday then today. How? How could I lose my soul to a man so cold?” Jhonia said to him, reminding him what he asked of her. But today he went and did what he did, she asked, pulling his hands from her. She went to the bathroom and took a shower then returned to the room. Nearce was gone or yet replaced by his mother.
“Mr. s Pinnock, when did”
“I came? Don’t give me that, your smile Jhonia. When were you planning to let me know, he’s cheating?” Mrs. Pinnock asked, cutting her off then said to her. She stood looking at Jhonia, she asked her, who was still in her bathrobe lowering her head.
“Don’t you know how to speak? Ah, Jhonia you are such a sweet girl and I love you so much. You are the kind of daughter I always wanted. You’re strong, kind, sweet, always positive, your powerful character is what I love most. Look at me! You always speak your mind on the spot. When you are upset you stay that way until you decide not to, and lately, you have been avoiding me and that is because you were afraid if you tell me he’s cheating. I would have taken his side because he’s my son. No. He’s his father’s son. Jhonia, I too, was there, here, where, you’re right now. It’s just that I had no one to complain about the problem to. His parents disowned him because he chose me to be his wife, but little did I know his parents were only protecting not him but me.”
Mrs. Pinnock asked her, then sighed. She went to explain to Jhonia what kind of girl she is and the daughter she had wanted. Telling her how she loves her yet is her character that she loves most, she yelled at Jhonia to look at her. She walked over to the window as she continued talking, telling Jhonia that she wouldn’t side with Nearce regardless he’s her son. No, because she was once where Jhonia is right now. She turned around facing Jhonia, as she told Jhonia that she had no one to complain to. But later on realized that her husband’s parents were trying protecting but only if she had known. Then she walked back to the extended couch and sat down.
“Come sit with me.” Mrs. Pinnock said after she sat down. Jhonia walked over to the single couch and sat down.
“I knew something was wrong but I never paid attention to my husband and you didn’t pay much attention to him, because he made you feel as if everything was okay when it wasn’t. His father began cheating on me, the second half of the first year of our marriage. I was hurt. I didn’t know what to do. So one day I went to his office and he wasn’t there so I went to a house his parents once owned. There he was beneath her, enjoying the warmth of her. I left before he or she could notice I was there, unlike with you I was actually married to him. So I told him I needed a divorce. He has sworn to never see or meet with her again, after two years he started again but with another woman. I felt like I wasn’t enough and then I found out I was pregnant and he ended things with her. But after Nearce turned ten years old he was out cheating again, this time he got sick and so he ended cheating until he passed away.”
Mrs. Pinnock opens up briefly to Jhonia, letting her know she was once where she is today and their differences of being actually married and contract marriage. Jhonia looked at her for some time, only now she knows Nearce is the same as his father but a little bit different. His father stops and starts again but he did not once, and he is so in love with that he himself doesn’t see it.
“So? Are you telling me that I can’t leave until the contract ends?” Jhonia asked? Sitting out on the couch looking at Mrs. Pinnock, she sat in silence looking at the door.
“No, of course not! Jhonia you can leave right now if you wish. I was hurt just like this my dear, I know it hurts and it’s even worse you can no longer trust him. That kills you to know the one you love can’t even love you in return. I am only asking you for a favor?” Mrs. Pinnock said, letting Jhonia know that she could leave right there and then if she pleased to but then she asked? Jhonia shakes her head a bit.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Okay. What is it?” Jhonia said to her, and stood up then asked? She waited on Mrs. Pinnock to speak but then Mrs. Pinnock stood up and sighed loudly.
“Rest for today you’ve been through a lot! I will have the maids remove his stuff or you could take the room neck to mine, you decide. Tomorrow will be a brand-new day. We will talk then.” Mrs. Pinnock said to her and walked towards the door. She opens the door and stops turning her head to look back at Jhonia, where Jhonia stood spinning the ring around her finger multiple times before she removed it and sighed loudly. Mrs. Pinnock nodded with agreement and left.
