49. The Dress

CHAPTER 49: The Dress

LILIAN FELT LIKE they were caught red-handed even if they didn't really do something wrong as Alpha

Karius' intense and obviously mad eyes bore at them. She saw how his jaw clenched staring at her

dress and Jackson's naked top. She tries putting herself in Alpha Karius' shoes... well, someone that

will see her and Jackson would really put malice since they are also both sweaty. She wanted to know

what's on Alpha Karius' mind right now but she doesn't have the courage to ask him.

Lilian bit her lower lip. Some of the wolves don't really mind what's happening but they could feel the

alpha aura roll off her mate as he stares at them. No one dared to say a word since they were too

scared at Alpha Karius right now. They could feel his intense aura that no one even dares to move on

their positions.

Lilian gulped a bit and looked at Jackson on her side who's obviously acting like the atmosphere wasn't

heavy at all! The bastard has the guts to even smirk at one of the female wolves that he just met the

other day! The female wolf just blushed as she averted her gaze to another direction, not making a

sound since Alpha Karius' aura is still over the air.

"Let's go home," Alpha Karius said, restraining himself to not make a scene in the place. Lilian just

straightened her back as soon as she heard the deep baritone voice of Alpha Karius. He immediately

went to her and pulled her on her side, making her land on his chiseled chest. She almost closes her

eyes as soon as she sniffs her manly scent that invades her nostrils. "Thanks for accompanying my

Luna to roam around..." he said with his formal voice as he looked at Jackson.

Jackson then looked at Alpha Karius, the side of his lips lifted a bit as he shrugged his shoulders. "No

problem, Alpha. Actually, Luna Lilian is fun to be with. There's no dull moments when I'm with her.

Right, Luna?" He even looked at Lilian with a smug expression on his face!

Lilian secretly glares at him, wanting so badly to just smack him in the face for putting malice on his

words that would surely anger Alpha Karius even more.

"R-Right..." she answered and just buried her face on Alpha Karius' chest as she felt how his hand

tightened around her. She could feel how mad he is now so before he could even do something to

Jackson, she held his hand gently on her waist, calling his attention since his intense gaze is still at

Jackson. "L-Let's go home..." she said to him as she looked up to his serious and handsome face. She

could clearly see how his stubbled jaw moved a bit and clenched before he sighed deeply like it was

his way to calm himself.

Meanwhile, Alpha Karius was itching so hard to punch the man's face but he was stopping himself not

to lash out in front of the other wolves. And besides, Lilian was able to calm him immediately so he

opted to just murdering Jackson in his head. If only he is that bad alpha, he already killed this Jackson

with his canines on the spot, but he's not and it's not a good example to the wolves in his pack. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

They were silent as they made their way to Alpha Karius' mansion. No one dares to talk once they get

home, making Lilian nervous even more. Alpha Karius pulled her to 'their' room without a word and she

was just following what he wanted, afraid that she would anger him even more.

She shouldn't be feeling this way. It's wrong. She already considers him as her enemy ever since he

hurted her but why does it feel so painful to be ignored by him?

Her toes are trembling making her sit on the edge of the bed uncomfortably as Alpha Karius started to

unbutton his long sleeve polo. She blushed when she saw his body and looked away. He went straight

to his closet and got another pair of clothes to wear, still not talking or glancing at her.

An ache suddenly crept inside Lilian's chest as Alpha Karius just kept on ignoring her. It makes her

heart hurt even more. He should be mad at her, right? But why does he not even saying a word? It was

frustrating her too much! She would like it if he would say what he feels... but he's not saying anything

that suddenly annoys her.

After a couple of seconds, Alpha Karius went out from his closet with his new long sleeve. He wore it

immediately. He only looked at Lilian for a sec before looking away.

"Are you still going out?" Lilian takes the courage to ask him even though she's not really sure if she's

going to get an answer.

"Yeah."

Lilian tried to hide the shock in her face in his one word answer. Yeah? That's it? Nothing more? She

wanted so bad to voice it out but her mouth couldn't seem to cooperate! Goodness! What's happening

to her?!

Lilian stood up and was about to say a word when they suddenly heard a scream outside. She gasped

and they both went out of the room.

"AHHH!! GET OFF ME! ROGUE!!"

Alpha Karius and Lilian went down quickly and she was shocked when she saw Clarine being held by

two helpers as she cried nonstop, obviously feeling scared on the sofa. It was already a mess when

they got there. The pillows are already on the floor and the helpers are obviously having a hard time

stopping Clarine.

"There's no rogue here. Please, calm down!" said Fina as she held Clarine's arm.

Alpha Karius immediately went to them and Lilian also followed. He crouched down and held Clarine's

arm. Surprisingly, she calmed down and stopped from crying.

"A-Alpha Karius... there's a rogue," Clarine almost whispered as she looked up at Alpha Karius. He

stared at her for a bit. It was obvious that Clarine is showing some signs of trauma after she got almost

attacked by the rogues the other day.

"Calm down, Clarine," Alpha Karius said to calm her. "Breathe..." he instructed and Clarine immediately

obeyed. She inhaled and exhaled until she calmed down while still staring at Alpha Karius.

For some reasons, what Lilian saw was actually making her heart ache a bit. How Alpha Karius held

Clarine's arm gently to calm her made Lilian look down, it made her eyes stung. The tears are

brimming at the corner of her eyes but she tries to ignore it and understand the situation.

She shouldn't feel this way. What Alpha Karius did to Clarine shouldn't be a big deal to her because it

was the right thing to do. And for Pete's sake, Clarine is traumatized! She shouldn't be jealous at this

moment.

Lilian gasped at her sudden realization. She's jealous just by staring at him and Clarine. But she

doesn't have the courage to voice it out. This is not good. She's familiar with this kind of feeling even

before and she's not like it.

Lilian was moved to where she's standing when Alpha Karius suddenly carried Clarine in his arms

who's now unconscious. She fell asleep after she calmed down because of the breathing exercises that

they did. She's probably tired now after crying so hard. Lilian stepped aside when Alpha Karius walked

beside her with Clarine still in his arms.

He didn't even bother to look at her. He just walked away like she's just an air... like nothing at all.

And it freaking hurts like hell for her. Damn, she never knew that her revenge would backfire like this.

THE NEXT MORNING, Lilian woke up without Alpha Karius on her side. The bed is empty and she

knew that he didn't even come home to sleep with her.

Lilian weakly got up from the bed and fixed herself. She went down after and wasn't surprised anymore

when she didn't even see Alpha Karius. He's off to his duty again as the alpha. She sighed heavily. She

needs to talk to him as soon as possible and clear things out with him. She couldn't bear the ache in

her chest anymore.

She saw Clarine eating on the table and she didn't hesitate to go to her and also eat. Clarine looked

sleepless, there's a bag of circles under her eyes as she weakly eats the food in front of her. She's

emotionless, it made Lilian think if she's really the one who cried yesterday and got carried on Alpha

Karius' arms.

"Good morning, Clarine. How's your sleep?" Lilian asked and smiled at her. Yes, she's maybe jealous

of her and Alpha Karius yesterday but she's not that immature to not understand things. Clarine was

obviously unwell so she needed to be more considerate around her. And besides, she considers her as

her friend. Clarine has been really good to her even when she's still an omega.

Clarine didn't say a word and just continued eating like she didn't hear Lilian at all. Lilian just sighed as

Nadia served her the usual food she's eating for breakfast.

She once looked at Clarine again and her brow arched a bit when she saw that the neckline of her

dress was stained a bit from the sauce of the steak that she's eating. Lilian gets a tissue to give her but

she gasped when Clarine just held her wrist, stopping her and suddenly glared at her making her move

a bit.

"I was just going to wipe your dress," Lilian said as she chuckled a bit, trying to ease the tension

between them. Obviously, Clarine didn't like what she did, making her confused.

Clarine didn't talk and just stared at her before continuing eating like nothing happened. Lilian just

sighed. Everything has changed on Clarine after she was almost attacked by the rogues. It must be the

effect of her trauma. She'll try to understand her more.

Lilian decided to just eat and didn't mind her when she saw one of the helpers crying as she went in

their direction.

"L-Luna..."

"What happened?" Lilian's brows furrowed.

"Fina... she's d-dead."

She gasped on what the helper said. And then a realization suddenly hits Lilian.

She looked at the neckline of Clarine's dress as the familiar scent of Fina lingered in the air.
