Chapter 2331
Bella decisively let go of Justin's hand and opened the car door.
"Mr. Salvador, see you there."
Justin's fingers curled instinctively when he felt the sudden loss of warmth. His lips moved, wanting to say something, but he hesitated.
Before he could respond, Bella quickly walked away without looking back. Only when her slender, proud figure faded into the night did Justin murmur from his parched throat. "See you there."
Back in the parking lot, Steven stood anxiously by the car, waiting for Bella. Seeing that her eyes were slightly red when she came back, he knew she had met with Justin. It seemed that their conversation had not gone well. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
His heart felt a slight twinge as he said, "Ms. Bella, I know you can be very persistent about things and people you care about, but some things in life simply cannot be forced. If it really is impossible, perhaps letting go might be a release for you too."
Steven knew his words sounded harsh and distant. But he could not bear to see her so devastated any longer.
"Steve, I understand. I know what you want to say." Bella lowered her head, her cold hands tucked away in her coat pockets, clenched tightly with unwillingness. "But I still want to try one last time. If all the heart-stopping moments from before can't awaken his love for me, then I'll give up completely and never see him again."
Steven felt his eyes grow wet. He had not expected the proud and noble heiress to lower herself to this point again because of Justin. Was it fate, or a curse?
"Steve, your wife is eight months along, right? I heard it's a boy?" Bella changed the topic, a warm smile appearing on her face.
"Yes, a boy."
At the mention of Amelia and the baby, Steven's face softened with a fatherly smile, tinged with a bit of helplessness. "Once, I joked that I preferred a girl, so when we found out it was a boy, Amelia was disappointed for days. Actually, as long as it's her child, I love them. I said that just so she wouldn't think I valued sons over daughters. I have no throne to inherit. Even if I did, why couldn't a girl reign? After all, you've become the queen of KS Group."
"Queen? I'm just an overpaid slave for Wyatt. Everything, I do is for the KS Group and my family."
Bella waved dismissively, her expression turning serious. "I don't know much about pregnancy, but I think you should spend more time with Amelia now. Lately, for my sake and the A5 project, you haven't been home with Amelia for days. Every visit is only two or
three hours long. That's not fair to my sister. Tonight, you should go back to Yara Park and stay with her. I'll give you a few days off. Don't worry about anything and just be with Amelia."
Steven hesitated, "But, Ms. Bella, you need someone by your side."
"I plan to take a few days off myself."
Bella thought about her agreement with Justin for tomorrow. A rare youthful smile of anticipation spread across her face.
"After tomorrow, regardless of the outcome, I'll take a short trip abroad to clear my mind. When I return, I'll be ready to tackle A5."
Steven had no idea what tomorrow would bring, but he knew how stubborn Bella was and chose not to persuade her further.
"Oh, Ms. Bella." Steven picked up a black coat from the driver's seat, asking in confusion." Whose coat is this? Should I return it?"
Bella lowered her gaze. Grant's elegant, refined face flashed in her mind. A wave of intense resentment surged within her.
Her voice turned icy as she said, "Throw it away."
