Chapter 28 Coldhearted Mafia
Blaine watched as Mavis slept like a baby on the plane. He wished that they met under different circumstances because she has been through a lot since she met him and he just hated all the stress she has passed through. It didn’t help to know that this was just beginning, there is still so much about him that she doesn’t know.

They arrived at Medellin, Columbia and Blaine felt so guilty to wake Mavis up that he just carried her in his arms. Knowing that it would be suspicious when people see how haggard he looks especially with his clothes, the first thing he did was to make sure that he got changed first.
Paulo informed him ahead of time that Mavis’s friends have already been taken to his family’s house so he knew he had to hurry. While he was shopping for new suits, Mavis was still in the car he boarded so that made him extra worried that he just took any suit, paid for them, and got dressed in one of them before he went back.
He was just a few meters away from the car when he saw the driver checking out Mavis’s body. He paused and watched as the man removed his seat belt and was about to go to the back where she was sleeping. He knew exactly what this nasty man wanted to do and was furious to know that men like that still exist.
He tried to control his fury and walked as fast as he could to where the car was. He reached the driver’s side, knowing that the door is probably locked from the inside he just smashed his hands through the window and used his elbow to complete the smashing. The glass scattered all over the driver while Blaine just grabbed the man by the neck and tossed him out of the car.
” What is the meaning of this?” The man asked in Spanish but Blaine didn’t say a word.
” I didn’t touch her!”
” Did I say you did?” Blaine responded before he kicked the man in the side with his shoe, knowing it would hurt like hell. Though the man’s screams did nothing to calm down his fury, he still didn’t plan on hurting him any further.
” What the hell? I thought she was your whore or something, how I was I supposed to”
” Cállate la boca!” Blaine barked at the man who immediately stopped talking. Without another word, he reached through the window and unlocked the car.
” No me dejes ver tu cara de nuevo” he said entering the car before he turned it on and drove off. He was so infuriated with the way things have already started getting worse in Medellin. All he wanted to do now is take Mavis home and give her some rest. But when he looked at her through the mirror, she was already awake.
That was shocking to him since she didn’t even make a sound since he’s been driving for about twenty-eight minutes. He looked at her again and saw fear in her eyes. She must’ve woken up when he broke the left front window and must’ve been scared when she saw him throw the man out of the car.
” Are you okay?” He asked but she didn’t say anything.
” Mavis,”
” I don’t know. I just saw you steal a man’s car.”
” I didn’t steal it…”
” Really?”
” I mean, I did steal it but it was only because he deserved it”
” I blame myself for sleeping like a rock. I wouldn’t have been a part of this”.
” Mavis, he was a cab driver okay? I told him to wait here and even gave him a hefty sum so that he wouldn’t leave -”
” – you left me in a car with an unknown man?” Mavis said in utter shock.
” I took his car keys so he won’t leave with you” Blaine argued.
” But he still could’ve done something crazy to me!” She said and he fisted his hand as he drove because she was right.
” I know and I’m sorry. Please, I didn’t realize that was a possibility because he looked like the gentle type. I just wanted to get a change of clothes -”
“- you left me in a car with an unknown man because of your clothes?”
” Oh come on Mavis, if the police see me driving with blood all over my clothes is that what you’d prefer?”
” Yes, so I can tell them that you’re a criminal and that I and my friends and being held, hostage!” She hissed and then he swerves the car to a parking spot and stopped the car abruptly making Mavis scream in fear.
” What is your problem Blaine?!” She shrieked.
” My problem is that you asked me about myself and then I told you because I care about you. I didn’t want you to be scared of me, or to feel like I don’t trust you. Then the fight first we have after that you start running your mouth about what I told you? Don’t let the fact that you’re carrying my child fool you because if you’re going to be useless to me by even daring to blow my cover, I swear that I will end you myself.” Blaine said, giving Mavis the coldest look she had ever seen on his face.
” Do you understand me?” He said in a low growl. Mavis nodded her head and sat quietly at the back and watched as he turned around and started driving while muttering things in Spanish.
She couldn’t believe he would threaten her like that. She was just angry at his carelessness and didn’t mean a thing she said about telling the police who he was. For Blaine to have shown her such a scary side to him over her words then it must mean that he is a very dangerous person who doesn’t want to be found by the police.
As she looked at him, every hint of romantic feelings for him just died on the spot. He is a Mafia member and is not capable of loving her, not that she wanted him to, but if he did, she would’ve been able to get him to do things her way a little bit.
She just wanted to get home… wherever that is for him and then talk to Darla and Amy. They’ll know how to calm her down because right now she was losing her mind knowing that the father of her child is a coldhearted Mafia.
