Chapter 49: Madwoman, Damn Rascal
Chapter 49: Madwoman, Damn Rascal
“It’s you who wants to buy it?”
Seeing that Joseph was protective to her daughter, Hayden could only give up. Glaring at Stella, she
said, “I’ll forget it this time, but only this time. Stella, you won’t have any pocket money for next month.”
Stella pouted with grievance. Noah, who was standing aside, pulled her sleeve and blinked at her,
indicating that he had money. Then Stella smiled again.
Just when Hayden wanted to remind Joseph not to spoil the children in this way, her phone rang
suddenly. She pulled it out and swiped to answer - she heard noises from the other end of the line
together with a woman’s voice with a trace of guilty conscience.
“Hi, Hayden. Are you home? Hurry up and come over, please.”
“What’s up?”
After talking for a few seconds, Hayden became tense. “What? How can you...”
Since Joseph was aside, she couldn’t speak too much. She hurriedly hung up the phone, looked at
him, and said, “I have something urgent to deal with now. Would you mind looking after Stella for me?”
“Sure.”
“Thanks a lot.”
Finishing her words, heedless of whether Joseph had finished speaking, Hayden hurriedly bypassed
the long lines to check out and trotted towards the exist of the supermarket.
Joseph wanted to say, “What’s wrong? I can send you there.” But now he had to swallow his words.
It was the rush hour after work. It took the taxi half an hour to get through the traffic before Hayden
finally arrived at the security department of the airport. As soon as she walked in, she saw a woman
dressed in black and white sitting straight on the chair. The sunglasses on her face couldn’t cover her
pride and arrogance.
Her white blouse was tied into a black high-waisted fishtail skirt. The 12-cm black high-heels with red
soles made her legs look slender and powerful. The handbag with silver sequins reflected the cold
light. She emanated an aloof and distant aura.
“Hey, Alayna.” Hayden walked over in a hurry. “What trouble did you make again?”
“I made trouble?” Alayna took off the sunglasses, revealing her pretty face that was still filled with fury.
“I just saw someone being bullied and fought for justice. I’ve seen many hooligans but I’ve never met
someone so bold - he dared to take off his pants under so many surveillance cameras in the parking lot
of the airport in broad daylight.”
“What? Taking off his pants?” Hayden was startled. She hurriedly looked around Alayna while helping
her up and asked anxiously, “Are you OK then? Did he take advantage of you?”
“No! It’s not me.” Alayna stopped Hayden’s hand checking aimlessly on her body.
She said in outrage, “I’ve told you I just helped someone else. It was another woman who was taken
advantages of. She was picked up by her friend just now. That damn rascal was left at the scene.”
“Who’s he?” Hayden looked around but didn’t see anyone.
“He’s locked in there. This kind of man should be arrested. Otherwise he’ll continue endangering the
society.”
“All right. All right.” Hayden heaved a sigh helplessly. “Since everything’s settled, I’ll go sign the
statement. Hurry up and let’s go. Stella is still waiting for me at home.”
Alayna was a straightforward woman. She used to serve the military for a few years, so she was skilled
in martial arts. Usually she could defeat three to five men at the same time. Hayden met her because
she was fighting for helping others in a bar abroad. Since she met Alayna, she had to go to the police
stations to take her out for countless times.
“Where’s your luggage?” asked Hayden.
Going out of the security department, she noticed that Alayna had only a handbag.
Suddenly Alayna recalled something.
She answered anxiously, “Whoops! It’s still in the garage!”
Finally, an airport staff took them to the lost and found department of the garage. They saw a
burgundy-red aluminum suitcase standing out among the lost suitcases.
“I told you it wouldn’t be missing.”
Alayna pulled the suitcase, looking as if Hayden was making a fuss. “OK. I’m quite happy today. Let’s
pick up Stella and have a big meal tonight.”
They walked back to the garage side-by-side. Usually Alayna would take the flight from this airport for
her business trips, and she usually parked her car in the airport garage, so that she could drive home
after coming back.
After putting her suitcase into the trunk, when they were seating in the car, Hayden suddenly heard a
familiar voice behind them.
“I’ll send you to the hospital to see a doctor.”
“No, thanks. I want to see my lawyer first. Evelyn is just a lunatic.”
“Are you sure your wounds are all right?”
The deep voice echoed in the garage. Holding the door of the car, Hayden looked back, only to find two
tall figures talking in front of a black BMW opposite. One of them was Joseph.
“Hi, Joseph?” Hayden exclaimed in surprise.
Shouldn’t he at home with two kids now? She wondered why he was here.
Hearing Hayden’s voice, Joseph also looked over. His expression changed a bit when seeing her.
“Why are you here?” Hayden closed the door. When she just walked a few steps towards him, she saw
someone hiding behind him. The bruises on his face couldn’t cover his playfulness.
“Hi, Mr. Jackman. What happened to your face?” Hayden greeted him.
Kevin covered his face with his hands. He said in a bitter tone, “How could you recognize me even I’m
covering my face? You mistook me for someone else.”
While Hayden was puzzled, Alayna followed her and put her arm around her shoulder.
With a smile, she asked, “What’s up? Have you met some acquaintance? Is this your friend?”
“Oh,” Hayden hurriedly made an introduction, “This is my boss, Mr. Beckham, the CEO of ST Group.”
“This is...” she was about to introduce Alayna to Joseph.
“I’m Alayna Cole,” Alayna chimed in to interrupt her words. She took the initiative to offer her hand to
Joseph, very straightforward.
She added, “I’m Hayden’s best friend. Are you Joseph Beckham? I’ve heard about your for a long
time.”
Joseph glanced at Hayden. Then he shook hands with Alayna politely. “Nice to meet you.” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“And this one...” Alayna’s gaze suddenly fell on the man behind Joseph.
Kevin also gradually raised his head.
In the mid-air, the four eyes met, the flames bursting out immediately.
“You madwoman-”
“You damn rascal-”
Two exclaims sounded almost simultaneously - one from Kevin and the other from Alayna.
Hayden grabbed Alayna immediately, whose eyes were full of rages.
“Hey, what are you doing?”
“It’s him.” Alayna pointed at Kevin. “He’s the damn rascal I mentioned in the security department.”
“I’m not a rascal!” Kevin jumped and hid behind Joseph, his face flushed. “You beat me up, you psycho.
Wait for my lawyer’s letter. I remember your name, Alayna Cole, right?”
Kevin’s face was black and blue. Two bruises on his almond-shaped eyes make him look like a giant
panda.
Hayden, who was used to the tragic scene when Alayna taught others lessons, couldn’t help looking at
him with sympathy. Joseph hurriedly took a few steps back, distancing himself from Alayna.
“Aren’t you a rascal? Wasn’t it you who tried to rape a woman passing by? You’ve already taken off
your pants. So fucking disgusting!”
Upon hearing that, the gazes of Hayden and Joseph changed, looking over at Kevin in shock.
Kevin always looked like a gentleman. Although he liked to flirt with girls in the company, they had
never expected he would behave like a beast.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Kevin was flustered. “Do you really believe what she said? It’s
not like that at all!”
