The Billionaire’s Playmate

Accident

I tightly hold the steering wheel as tears continue to flow from my eyes. The pain is intense. It hurts seeing Klari at her house before, and now they’re together?

He allowed her to take care of him.

“I-I can’t handle it anymore. I-I admit I’m weak, but I can’t bear the pain. I can’t bear seeing them together. If Klari can help him, I won’t force myself anymore.”

He was with Klari, and she’s taking care of him. And me? Every time I go to his house, he’ll shoo me away, speak unkind words.

“I have a heart too. It hurts even more because I love him so much. Just because I made a mistake doesn’t mean I’m a bad person. Isn’t forgiveness supposed to be a thing? It’s so difficult… so painful.”

My eyes blur with tears. When my cellphone rings, I glance at it.

But as I reach for it, I suddenly hear a loud horn. I look at the road and quickly realize I’m out of my lane and about to collide with another vehicle.

“Ah, sht.”

I quickly turn the steering wheel, and my car hits a tree by the side of the road. Because of the crash, my head hits the side mirror of my car.

I endured the pain in my head from hitting the side. I felt dizzy because of its intensity.

“You’re really s-so foolish, Thaliana.”

I cried even more because of what happened to me. When I felt something dripping on the side of my head, I touched it. When I looked, I got scared seeing blood.

“Am I going to die?”

I heard my cellphone ringing again. When I picked it up, I saw that Luther was calling. I answered immediately due to my situation.

“L-Luther…”

“Thaliana? I’ve been calling since earlier. Your Dad called me that you went to Cyron’s house. I am on my way. I’m already in Tagaytay. I warned you last night. It wasn’t good what happened last night; I told you–”

“Are you crying?”

Before I could respond, I looked at the car door when I heard a knock.

“I-I got into an accident, Luther…”

“What?! Where? Are you still in Tagaytay? What’s your location–sht. I saw your car already. Are you okay?”

I tightly closed my eyes when the guy outside knocked again.

“I-I am okay, I’m o-okay.”

A few seconds later, I heard a series of knocks, and when I looked, it was Luther. I quickly opened my car door and went out. Luther greeted me immediately, looking very worried.

“You are fckng bleeding, Thaliana, and you told me that you are okay?!”

“I-I don’t feel anything else, Luther… I’m okay.”

“Ma’am, it might be better for you to go to the hospital; who knows what could happen to you,” the guy said. He was the one who knocked on my car door earlier to check on me.

“Thank you, sir. I’m sorry, is anyone else hurt?” I asked, scanning the area. There were few people passing by, and I managed to avoid my car quickly earlier, so it seems no one else got involved.

“No, Ma’am, it’s a self-accident. Please go to the hospital to make sure you’re safe and that there’s no internal bleeding.”

“Thank you, I am sorry for the trouble,” I replied to the man.

Facing Luther, I saw anger on his face.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

“I will call your family.”

He guided me to his car. As he started the engine, I sat in silence, feeling like I almost died because of negligence.

I grabbed a tissue and pressed it to my finger, which was cut by the broken glass earlier. It was still bleeding. Luther noticed and focused his gaze on it.

“Did you injure your fingers? Was anything broken inside your car?” he asked.

I shook my head.

“I-I got this when I picked up a broken glass.”

“Where? At Cyron’s house?” Luther’s voice had anger in it when he asked. I saw him grip the steering wheel tightly.

“Y-yes, but it’s my fault. I dropped the glass; it’s not Rozzean’s fault.”

“I don’t understand him anymore, Thaliana. He loves you, but he’s treating you like this?”

I lowered my head.

“I… I saw Klari. She was there, taking care of him.”

“Rozzean l-looks okay now, he’s recovering. He ate the food Klari cooked. Klari is taking care of him, Luther.”

“He… d-doesn’t need me. I saw it again.”

“I-I saw it…”

I choked up, wiping away the tears on both cheeks with a tissue. What I witnessed earlier hurt more than the accident I went through. I wished my head hit harder so I could forget.

“I… already return the ring he gave me when he proposed to Tali. H-He doesn’t want me anymore, Luther. E-ven if I beg in front of him like I did before, it seems like it’s really over. He didn’t even call me earlier. I was waiting. I was hoping, but nothing…”

“You need to stop.”

I nodded slowly.

“I-I’ve said it, I’ll stop bothering him.”

Luther didn’t speak until we reached the hospital. He had me checked immediately, all kinds of tests to make sure I was okay. He also called my family because of what happened to me. My parents were extremely worried. They went to the hospital in Tagaytay and then took me home..

Luther followed me to my parents’ house. My siblings also came, and they were extremely worried when they learned what happened to me.

“Are you sure there’s no problem with the results? C-can we get a second opinion, George? I can’t relax,” my mom said while sitting beside me, holding my hand.

“Tangi’s head is so hard, Mom, so it won’t easily break. Mom–ouch! That hurts, hon,” Griz said as his wife pinched him on the side.

“I had the tests repeated at the hospital, ma’am, and everything was clear. There’s nothing to worry about,” Luther reassured my mom.

“I am just worried. This is the first time this happened to Tangi. Thank you, Luther. It’s a good thing you’re close, and you immediately went to our daughter.”

Luther bowed to my mom and then looked at me.

“Thaliana.”

I looked at Dad when he called my name. I gulped when I saw his serious expression.

“You went to Rozzean’s place, right?”

I nodded slowly. When I couldn’t meet Daddy’s gaze, I lowered my head.

“I respect your decision of trying to win him back, sweetheart, but I’m finding it hard to see what you’re going through. You’re my only daughter, and we are all protecting you. We won’t allow you to be hurt again after one mistake, and Rozzean won’t still forgive you?”

I felt nervous about his words. Yes, I gave up on Rozzean, but I don’t want Dad’s opinion of him to change. I still want to bring back their relationship to how it was before. I want Dad to have that good impression of Rozzean.

“D-Dad… you understand him, right? I-I betrayed him, it’s natural for him to–”

“At first, yes. But now? No, Thaliana Tangi.”

“You got into an accident because of him.”

I quickly shook my head. It was my fault! Not Rozzean’s!

“N-No! It’s my fault! Dad… you shouldn’t blame him for my mistake. I was the one driving, I wasn’t focused on the road. It’s my fault!”

“But he’s the reason why it happened. You weren’t yourself, right? Your swollen eyes tell us that you’ve been crying so hard. And where were you coming from? If I ask you what happened at Rozzean’s house, will you tell me?” my dad sternly said to me.

I remembered Klari and Rozzean. I felt the intense pain in my chest again. I covered my mouth and tried not to make a sound because of my crying.

“I’m taking care of and protecting you so you won’t get hurt like this, Thaliana.”

I shook my head again. I was afraid he might get angry with Rozzean. When Dad left, Mommy followed him. The situation worsened because of my accident.

“Rozzean? Rozzean Cyron?” Griz asked.

“Yeah,” Luther replied.

I looked at my siblings. They were looking at me seriously.

“If I see your brother Luther, can I punch him?” Grecion asked.

“Go ahead. I will not stop you.”

What are they thinking?! They just learn that it was an accident!
