MISTAKE 227
Chapter 227: A NEW COUPLE.
"You..."
Lydia was at a loss for what to say. He was getting bolder every minute.
"I will be back in a bit," he said, and she hurried into the room. When she entered the room, she was met with her roommates already done packing. The moment they saw her, Cindy and Ethel folded their arms and approached her.
"Who is this? Do you recognize her?" Cindy asked Ethel.
"I don't recognize her, though something is familiar," Ethel answered with a look of confusion before clapping in realization. "Could it be Lydia? The unruly child that went and got a boyfriend without telling us?" Ethel asked.
"It looks like her," Cindy answered.
"Stop messing around; I thought I said I would explain when I came back." Lydia grabbed
Cindy's arm and shook like a child would when asking her parents for a new toy.
"Okay, there is an explanation. Our bestje is still our bestie." Ethel said and sat.
“Okay, tell me about it." Cindy joined her to sit.
"You remember when Cindy almost killed me with that concoction some days ago and I had to escape to the bathroom?" she asked, and they both nodded.
"I heard that Lydia girl talking about how she was going to embarrass Harry. I had only heard of it then. Then, when I was out shopping yesterday, I met Lydia and her friends, and they were talking about the location. At first, I only wanted to go over to tell Harry, but by the time I got there, they had already started accusing him, so I couldn't help myself. You know I can't control my big mouth," Lydia explained.
"I see, so you were being a good samaritan and were dragged into this drama?" Ethel asked, and Lydia nodded.
“Lydia, you are many things, but not a good samaritan. Especially when drama is involved. You expect me to believe that you went all the way there just out of the goodness of your heart? Not because you had a prior relationship." Cindy said.
"How am I not a good samaritan?" Lydia was confused.
"When drama is circulating, you are disappearing. That is who you are," Ethel explained.
"Then what about the rumor that he came out of your tent one morning?" Cindy asked.
"Did you not hear that some people played a game of ghosts at night so as not to get dragged into cleaning the toilets? He was one of them. When I went to ease myself, I was dragged in. We got to meet that night. You know, I can't stand anything that has to do with ghosts, so I

was scared. He offered to take me back as long as let him hide in my tent," she explained.
"All this comes down to you being a good person to him all the time. I know you well. If someone else had said they wanted to sit in your tent all night, you would have risked ghosts. returning." Ethel said.
"But when it comes to him, you are not scared of him sleeping in your tent?" Cindy asked.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
“Just tell us the truth; you like him, don't you?" Ethel asked, "You just wanted to spend more time with him. You may say you don't want it, but your mind is reacting differently.
"He is the one who likes me; I only... I only..." She could not seem to find the words. Hearing her words, the two girls stood abruptly and surrounded her.
"How do you know he likes you? What did he say? What happened last night after everyone left?" Cindy asked.
"Did you confess? Tell your sister everything!" Ethel said it excitedly. They waited after that, staring her down as though not to miss a single action she took. Lydia's face was a slight
shade of red when she slowly nodded.
"So, you two are really..." Ethel started to say:.
"You have a boyfriend?" Cindy asked with a wide grin on her face.
"Stop, I need to pack." Lydia did push past them and started packing quickly. She changed her
clothes and packed while ignoring their constant comments and questions. After a while,
there was a knock on the door. Ethel opened it to find Harry on the other side.
“Lord Harry!" Ethel exclaimed, and Harry held back a laugh.
"Just Harry, I am looking for Lydia. The bus is ready to leave," he said to her. When Lydi heard his voice, she came to the door.
"Baby, are you done?" He asked, and she was about to become a tomato from all the shades of
red she was displaying. Ethel and Cindy glanced at each other and back at Lydia.
"I am done," she said.
"You have breakfast," he said, handing her a big bag. When he saw her confused face at the size of the bag, he explained, "Mine is also in there." "Where is your bag?" he asked, and she pointed to one of the beds. It was a small traveling bag. He picked it up while Ethel and Cindy made eyes at Lydia from behind.
"Baby," Ethel whispered to Lydia's right ear.
"Baby," Cindy She whispered in Lydia's left ear, and she shooed them away.
"The bus is ready to leave; get your things," she scolded them, and they picked up their bags with slight teasing smiles.

Harry held her bag in one hand and her hand in the other. Her friends hurriedly followed behind them. When they got to the parking lot where all the buses were parked and loading up, they attracted a lot of attention. They were the hot topic in the university forum right now, and now they were in front of them. Their eyes dropped to their clasped hands, and some sneakily pulled out their phones and took a picture. There was no need to guess that these pictures were going on the school forum.
Harry ignored the stares, as he was used to them. But he was quite conscious of the fact that Lydia was uncomfortable. He could feel her palm start to sweat under the stares as he caressed
the back of her with his thumb.
They got on their bus to find Mark and Ethan already seated. They had the look of watching a show painted on their faces. Harry led Lydia to two empty seats and let her sit while he put her
bag away.
Taking a seat beside her, he took her free hand and caressed it to soothe her.
"It's alright,” he whispered to her.
"School will be much worse," she muttered.
"It will be a holiday soon. In a few weeks, many will be writing their final exams. Soon, they won't have time for us. I will take you someplace nice," he consoled her, then kissed the back
of her hand.
* Just as the bus was about to leave, the professors got on, and one of them spotted Harry's
action of kissing Lydia's hand and sighed, "Last time we came on this trip, somebody's mouth destroyed quite a few innocent students. This time it seems we have even more victims, he said out loud, and the bus broke into loud laughter as Harry pulled Lydia to him and the bus rolled away. Richard, on the other hand, was looking at information on his tablet about Lydia. The daughter of the Stone family.
He had heard that his youngest cousin had finally gotten a girlfriend, and he had seen the video call exposing his aunt's husband, so he looked into her.
He was sure this was not an issue, but the Stone family was in trouble at the moment, and he knew it was James Grey, his father-in-law, that was suppressing them. The only one who was left out was Lydia's father.
He was sure that this would be troublesome for his cousin. This was a modern-day Romeo and Juliet situation. If he knew the Stone family, old madam, well, she would not let her
