The Beta’s Regret

Chapter 287

(Eros Pov)

The moment Beast took over, the fight between Pison and I became intense.

Pison was a tough match. He wasn't tired, and he kept oozing a dangerously dark aura that was freezing. Each of us exchanged blows as our wolves snapped at each other.

Neither one of us had the upper hand as Pison channelled his strength and powers to suppress me but it was fruitless.

I still had the powers from the royal ritual, and something more different... the power of the moon goddess.

As we fought, it was a battle between light and darkness. Pison radiated Hades' power while I radiated the moon goddess' power.

There was sudden peace, and then storm all through the fight. The clouds would close over the bright moon and then open up again. The wind blew so hard I felt it would sweep us away, but suddenly it would

calm again.

The clouds were darker on the other side of the field, and while I fought with Pison, I saw bright flashes of light that made me realize that greater forces were also engaged in this battle.

"Why do you hate me so much?" I asked with a growl when Pison missed a blow to my head.

"You need to die for me to have everything I want." Pison roared.

I pushed against him in defense when he bared his fangs to take a bite of my flesh.

We ran at each other again and met in armlock as we both struggled to outdo the other.

"You are still cursed, Eros! And I will take delight in killing you as I did before!" Pison said with a grin

A fury burned in me and I was ready to unleash it on him. I lounged myself at him, trying to bite and claw at his skin but Pison predicted most of my movements.

I knew what Pison was trying to do with his words. He was trying to distract me so I would lose focus and he would have an advantage over me.

I couldn't let my guard down. The whole realm was counting on me... my family...

When Pison realized his tricks might not work, he snarled at me, his eyes turning a scary pitch black. Thunder rumbled somewhere in the sky, and lightning struck.

Pison immediately fell to his feet, and growled loudly, his arms opened wide as he howled into the air.

At the same time, I heard a loud growl from the otherside where the lightning struck.

For some reason, Pison became vulnerable.

And I took advantage of it.

With one strike, I dug my claws into his chest and Pison's eyes opened in shock.

"You..." he said faintly

I smirked with a beastly smile "You were wrong. I am no more cursed!"

Pison released a maniac laugh, blood spilling out of his lips. I felt the warm beat of his heart against my palm as I squeezed.

Pison released a scream before he spat out. "You lie. You will end up dying from the curse."

I shook my head. "All the time you spent trying to woo my mate, I spent it trying to find a solution to the curse so I could defeat you."

Pison whimpered.

My mind flashed back to the little girl who claimed to be from the moon goddess.

Lamia.

The little girl took me to another cave and had me immerse myself in a pool similar to that of the royal ritual.

At first, she pricked herself with a sharp object and spilled a drop of her blood along with a drop of Zion's blood in the water... While mumbling something about how important it was for the blood of the chosen one to be mixed with a witch from her lineage.

The chalky white water immediately changed to a clear blue pool that glowed with a supernatural presence.

Lamia instructed me to step in, and I did. When I stepped out, I felt a weight had been lifted off me.

The rage and anger that had been

hidden deep within in a locked box was suddenly opened and I knew within that the curse had finally been lifted.

I pulled out my claws and dug out his heart.

Blood splattered and Pison's eyes slowly closed. He broke into tiny pieces until he became nothing but black dust.

It was evident that Pison had transitioned from an ordinary wolf to a demon who sold his soul to Hades. He was doomed forever...

I stepped back as soon as he faded into oblivion.

The skies cleared out completely and I turned away. I had barely taken two steps when I saw Arthur...

I halted in his steps, staring at his

guilt-written face and my anger

surged But before he could soul net

anything, a familiar scent waftednoveldrama

through my nose.

Eden.

In excitement, I shifted and ran off in the direction I had seen the lightning strike. It was where my instincts led me to.

Sure enough, I saw Eden and a celestial woman that glowed bright light. She was placing a soft kiss on my mate's forehead.

The moon goddess.

As I approached the scene, she smiled on seeing me and began to ascend into the clouds "I am proud of you both... reign King Eros."

Then, she vanished.

I approached Eden, and Lily. My heart fluttered and I carried both of them in my arms.

They were both asleep.

I began to walk out of the open field, when all the people surrounded me.

In unison, they bowed to the ground "Reign, King Eros!"
