Chapter 568 Your Dad Has Someone He Likes

“Really?” NôvelDrama.Org content.

Casey had half expected Amanda to hesitate, but to her surprise, Amanda readily agreed.

“Yes, count me in. Don’t worry; I’ll do my utmost to secure those shares for you. Tonight, I’ll dig deep into your family’s business.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Winters. I’m genuinely sorry for my impulsive behavior before. I was in the dark and criticized without thinking…”

Casey was overwhelmed with guilt at this moment, realizing Amanda’s excellence and kindness. It was no wonder Symeon was infatuated with her, even if it was unrequited love.

“It’s alright; let’s not dwell on the past. Besides, you’ve been through a lot. You haven’t seen her since. Dulcie was born. I can relate to your feelings because I’m a mother too.”

“Thank you…” Tears welled up in Casey’s eyes.

Amanda handed her a tissue. “Miss Carter, the past is behind us now. What matters most is holding onto the shares your mother left for you.”

“Yes, I understand.”

“Then, return home, organize the information, and send it my way. I’ll get to work.”

“Okay, I’ll head back now.”

As Casey left Winters Estate, an unusual sense of confidence washed over her. She couldn’t quite explain it, but she believed in Amanda.

In the cab, she Googled Amanda’s name and discovered a multitude of successful cases related to her on Google.

She hadn’t expected Amanda to be such a prominent figure in the legal profession.

Casey couldn’t help but become increasingly intrigued by this remarkable woman.

Symeon had already begun dinner with Dulcie when she returned to Galaxy Bay. It appeared that Dulcie was in a much better condition now.

Stepping into the dining room, she overheard Dulcie’s adorable voice.

“Dad, why hasn’t Miss Casey come back yet? Are you lying to me?”

I’m not lying to you, Dulcie,” he reassured, holding a plate of congee and gently spoon-feeding the little girl. Symeon added. “Miss Casey took care of you all night last night. She just went out for something and will be back soon.”

Just as Casey entered the dining room, catching Dulcie’s eyes. Her eyes sparkled in surprise. “Miss Casey! You come back! Dad didn’t lie to me!”

Casey assured her with a warm smile, “Of course, he didn’t lie. I had to attend to something”

“Come quickly, let’s all eat together. Ms. Penny made plenty of dishes, Dulcie bubbled with excitement, pointing to the seat beside her.

Casey happily obliged, settling down beside Dulcie. In no time, Penny brought a set of tableware. “Eat up: I’ve prepared quite a feast today.”

“Mmm.”

Having skipped breakfast, Casey was genuinely hungry.

She picked up her fork and knife, taking a bite of the delicious food. It was delicious, so she continued to savor one dish after another.

Symeon watched her with an amused look and teased, “Is this your first meal today? You’re eating like a hungry ghost.”

“I’m hungry. I haven’t eaten all morning.

Dulcie rolled her eyes at Symeon and chimed in, “Dad, you shouldn’t say that to girls; it’s impolite.”

Symeon smiled, shook his head, choosing not to pursue the matter further, and resumed eating.

Perhaps inspired by Casey’s example, Dulcie ate her meal independently.

Upon finishing the meal, Dulcie clapped her hands in amazement. “Miss Casey, you’re amazing! You finished everything.”

“I’m sorry. I was just hungry today.” She didn’t know what came over her.

“Dulcie, it’s time for us to take a bath. Let’s go. We skipped our shower yesterday.”

At that moment, Penny walked over and extended her hand.

Dulcie obediently got off her chair and held Penny’s hand, turning to Casey and saying, “Miss Casey, come- find me later. I want you to tell me a story.”

“Of course, I’ll come find you later.”

After Penny led Dulcie away, the dining room was left with Symeon and Casey.

Once Dulcie left, Symeon lit a cigarette and casually asked, “Did Amanda agree to be your defense attorney?”

Casey nodded, her relief evident. “Yes, she agreed and assured me she’ll do everything in her power to help me retain the shares my mother left me.

Symeon smiled knowingly, “I had a feeling she would agree. She has a way of radiating warmth and making everyone feel it.”

His confidence in Amanda’s decision left Casey feeling somewhat uneasy, especially given his profound. affection for her.

He loves Amanda deeply.

Even if he can’t have her, he still quietly adores her.

“So, did she touch your heart back then? Is that why you developed feelings for her, even though you knew she was a married woman and couldn’t let go?” Casey asked cautiously, a mix of curiosity and trepidation in her voice.

Symeon paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, reminiscing about the absurdity of how he and Amanda had first crossed paths.

It had been a fantasy from start to finish. Symeon had almost convinced himself that he was Amanda’s husband, but it was just a dream.

Watching his self-deprecating smile, Casey felt uncomfortable. She didn’t want to hear him describe how he had met Amanda, let alone hear about his obsession with her..

“I… I’ll go upstairs and check on Dulcie. She asked me to listen to her story.”

With that, she quickly left the dining room without looking back.

Symeon watched her departing figure and let out a soft chuckle. “It’s to tell her a story, you fool.”

Evening fell.

Casey planned to spend the night with Dulcie since she had just recovered, and Symeon had gone out.

“Miss Casey, do you have a boyfriend?” Dulcie asked, her curiosity shining through.

The unexpectedly mature question from the little one left Casey momentarily flustered.

“Why ask such a question? It’s not something a child like you should be concerned with. It’s bedtime.”

In her charming way, Dulcie persisted, “No, I just want to know.”

Casey hesitated and replied, “No…”

“That’s great, then. My dad has a chance,” Dulcie remarked casually, causing Casey’s face to flush. What is going on in this little one’s mind?

“Dulcie, don’t talk like that. Your dad already has someone he likes.”

Dulcie whispered, “No, Miss Casey. My dad doesn’t like any woman. Look at my dad; he’s handsome and loves his wife.”

Casey chuckled at Dulcie’s spirited defense of her father. “He doesn’t even have a wife. How can you be so sure that he loves his wife?”

“I just know. Otherwise, you can give it a try with my dad. I think you and my dad would make a great couple.”

“Where did you learn all this at such a young age?” Casey was bewildered. Such comments were atypical for a three-year-old.

Dulcie giggled, “Ms. Penny told me if you and my dad end up together, I can call you Mom.”

Mom.

The word Mom melted Casey’s heart.
