Tenacious Sky

Chapter 15

Chapter 15

The week passed faster than I thought it would. With Leo looking out for me, I barely lifted a finger. I

had to watch the others be coached during fencing practice and did what conditioning I could to stay in

shape. After a few days, everyone got used to seeing Leo and me around each other. Leo has a panic

attack every time the starter gun came out. When it did, we'd either retreat to the locker room or head

to our room. I'd gotten used to the feeling of hugging him and wiping his tears.

It was time for the weekend outing with the guys. The plan was to stay at a hotel downtown for the

weekend as we played around. I knew it would be a risk being around the other guys all the time, but I

felt better knowing that Leo was coming too. I packed a small duffel bag before checking my ankle. It

felt good as new.

"You remembered everything?" Leo asked as he slung his bag on his shoulder. I nodded. He made a

move to grab my bag but I stopped him.

"I'm all better now. You don't have to keep carrying my things," I said quickly. He sighed with a tired

look on his face before he took my bag from me anyway.

"I've gotten used to it. Let's go," he said, walking out the door. I followed after him to meet the others at

the main gate. On the other side of the gate was a Volkswagen bus. Easton smiled when he saw me.

"Hey you made it. Leo? You're really coming too?" Easton asked amused. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

"I go where my kid goes. You haven't noticed?" Leo answered sarcastically as he set our bags in the

trunk. The others greeted us as we waited for one more person. So far, there were five of us. Easton,

Leo, Sawyer, Nathan, Cody, and myself. Leo got in the van and sat quietly in the very back. I sighed

before turning my attention back to Easton.

"Who are we waiting on?" I asked.

"Oh, my buddy Ryker. He decided to tag along at the last minute,"Easton explained happily. My

cheeriness disappeared.

"Ryker is going?" I asked again. He nodded before noticing my expression.

"What, you know Ryker? Doesn't look like you get along judging by your expression," Easton said.

"He's the one who did that to my ankle," I admitted. Easton apologized before I got in the van and sat

next to Leo in the very back.

"Ryker's coming," I sighed. Leo tensed before letting out a breath. He didn't say anything else on the

matter. After everyone was accounted for, everyone got in the van and we took off. At the hotel, Easton

picked up two room keys from the front desk.

"We can split the rooms three and three," Easton said. Leo walked up to the desk before coming back

with another room key. He handed me the spare.

"You guys can figure out your own sleeping situation. My kid and I are rooming alone. I don't like

sharing," Leo said monotonously.
