Chapter 6: Decisions
Chapter 6: Decisions
I raked my hand through my Hair. How can I return after all this? Is that even possible for me? Staring at my reflection in the car mirror, I knew that now wasn't the right to for me to return home, there was still a lot that I had to do to make that happen.
Picking up my mobile phone, I knew that I had to do the right thing.
"I can't return now, the time has not come for me to do that, when the time is right, I will come back home and reclaim my position, but in the meantime, still keep me informed- by your Alpha" I sent the message to him aware that he will handle the rest and if anything is to go wrong, he will keep me informed as well.
When I sent the message, I slipped the phone into my pocket as I wondered if I was doing the right thing or perhaps, I should return back. However, I pushed the thought out of my head and got up from the pavement. I needed to look for her.
After what happened at the store, she had gone to the grocery store to make it up to her, and he waited for him. He paced around while waiting for her, when his eyes fell on her making her way towards him, he halted and just stared at her as she closed in on him.
What are you doing here?" She looked around, she was not sure if he was waiting for someone.
"I was waiting for you so could head back to the house"
"I did not know otherwise, I would have come a bit earlier"
"That's alright, you are not late either" Shawn cleared his throat and led the way with Hannah trailing behind her. They did not say a word to each other as they returned back home.
After Hannah prepared dinner, Shawn and Hannah went to their rooms. Though, they were already Married, they slept in different rooms. No one brought it up, it seems as if they had read each other's minds.
After a few days, it dawned on Hannah that she had not received her dowry, and she needed to go get it. At first, the last thing on her mind was telling Shawn about it, that might not be good for her since that might attract the attention of Shawn, he was a rogue and since she was a substitute bride, she was afraid of what he would do to her.
Fear engulfed her as she paced around the living room, she knew what rogues were capable of, she had heard stories of how they caused trouble for people who lied to them, and she was hiding the truth from them.
"Are you alright?" Shawn asked as he appears by the door.
"Yes, why won't I be alright?"
"You are pacing around, you only pace when you are nervous and scared"
"You paced around the other day, where you scared and nervous?"
Shawn did not think that she saw him that day he paced around while waiting for her to return so that they could head back to the house.
"None, I was bored, you were gone and I was waiting for you to return, that is another reason for you to pace around but in your case, I assume that it is not boredom as you have many books to read"
She reclined back to the seat. "Those books are ancients and I just can't handle ancient books you know"
Shawn studied the lines on her face, he sensed that she was not alright, something was amiss with her, it troubled her soul and he just knew it. Even though he sensed what might be troubling her, he doesn't expose her and just walked into the room, only to return back into the living room with a box of jewelry.
"Here, you have this"
Her jaw dropped as her eyes widened, for a moment she was left nonplussed.
"Where did you get these?" She thought that he had gotten himself involved in something illegal, which was the only way that he could afford to get her such an expensive gift.
"I didn't buy it if that's what you are thinking right now"
"So where did it come from?"
"It's a family heirloom, everyone in the family knows this, it is being passed down from generation to generation and now that you are my wife, it is only right that you are not left out of this, you only just have to be a good wife, that is your
your husband" He walked out
ly to
leaving her no choice but to accept
the heirloom.

It was evening and Hannah had gone over to her house, she knew what was coming for her the moment that she walked right in through that door, yet that didn't stop her from entering the place where she once lived.
When she locked eyes with Jessica, her step-sister making her way down the stairs, she sneered.
"What are you doing here?" She snapped, enraged that Hannah had to come back.
"I will be quick"
"Aren't you married to your cave husband, shouldn't you be with him and disappear, now you stink like him as well" She eyed the clothes she has wearing, it was neat but overstated.
"You should know that there is no room for peasants like you"
"I am not in the mood for you Jessica"
"What are you going to do then? Are you going to fight me?" She chuckled. "How is your wretched husband doing? You are nothing more than a peasant who married a peasant, how did you like the gift?"
Hannah was confused, she was not
aware of what she was talking about
but kept quiet, she was not just in her games, she only came here for a reason. Jessica glanced around and kicked the bucket and the water poured on the ground wetting Hannah's shoes. She was not aware that it was Jessica who had arranged for her to be the substitute bride as she had always been jealous of Hannah and wanted to get rid of her since she was a thorn in her flesh.
"I was happier when you were away and not here, did you have to show your ugly face to me? Now I know why I felt so sick this morning, it is all Because of you!" She poked her forehead yet Hannah remained silent.
Jessica was not a match for her but now was not the right time and place. Hannah stared right into her eyes.
"Why are you staring at me? Can't you talk? You have grown dumb like your dirty rogue of a husband. Not × only is he dirty but does he have to fight and do all manner of tacky shits to make his money. He could work as a guard dog to make s some
extra money but he get
the job" She laughed hysterically.
Fury consumed Hannah and she couldn't take it anymore. "You have marriee your perfect match! Dirty? Between the both of you who looks dirty? Isn't it you, you scum!"
"Whatever" Jessica does not care about what she has to say.
"Shut your mouth, I did not come for you"
"I know who and what you came for, but I hate to disappoint you honey but my father isn't home and he has no intention of giving you a dowry!"NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"I didn't come for a dowry, he isn't up to getting a dowry for me!"
