Spoiled by the Silver Fox

Chapter 731

The group erupted in disbelief at the tale being recounted.

Maximus, his cheeks flushed from the wine, lamented, "Why do these great fortunes always pass me by? It's like being groomed for a golden retirement or stepping into an inheritance. Emmert's rolling in dough now." Gracie rolled her eyes exasperatedly, "Money, money, money, is that all you see?"

His voice turned whiny, "And now my wife's getting tough on me again."

Gracie didn't know what to say, "Mr. Finnegan, this one's sloshed. I better take him home."

"Go ahead, and while you're at it, set a date for the wedding, will ya? You're not getting any younger. Tie the knot and start a family already."

Gracie nodded with an easy grace, "We know, our parents are already discussing the dates. We'll send out the invites soon enough."

"Wow! Gracie, you and Maximus are finally making it official! My mentor's going to be over the moon!"

Gracie couldn't help but laugh, "She's the one who's most invested, dragging me to try on wedding dresses and scout out the best photographers for the wedding album."

"Isn't it good she cares so much?"

"Oh, absolutely, I adore her for it. She's been worrying about me for so long, now it's her turn to fret over me."

"Rightly so!"

With Gracie and Maximus gone, the rest of the group lingered, shooting the breeze with Mr. Finnegan who chuckled heartily at their banter, keeping the atmosphere light and cheerful.

As the evening wound down, with the birthday celebration coming to a close, and Mr. Finnegan looking tired, the guests started to say their goodbyes.

Dashiell, who hadn't drunk a drop, drove Serena and a few of the actresses home.

Mr. Finnegan was picked up by his assistant.

Stephanie and Sullivan had arrived together with Emily, and they all left in the same car.

Stephanie was quite tipsy, Sullivan had only had a sip or two, and Emily, just a child, was sticking to soft drinks.

But Emily had sneakily asked Sullivan to let her taste a drop of the wine, keeping it secret from Stephanie.

They rode back in Sullivan's family van, all three sitting in the back.

Stephanie mumbled to herself, "Who could it be? Other men in Silver Fox's family are all married with kids. Another one is tying the knot soon. It couldn't possibly be Grandpa Jaxon, could it? Or could it be my dear Silver Fox?" Sullivan listened with a twitch at the corner of his mouth, "Does it really matter who?"

"I'm just curious."

"Just ask Silver Fox when you get home."

"Right. I'll grill Silver Fox about it when we get back."

"Sullivan, Stephanie's plastered."

"And then?"

"Please help me get her to her room."

Sullivan raised an eyebrow, "Not worried about the paparazzi?"

"I'm still a kid; I don't care about that stuff."

"If Silver Fox sees, he'll get jealous."

"Stephanie's not worried; Seb trusts her."

Sullivan didn't say more.

The lengths to which those struggling actresses would go toz steal the spotlight from the director.

It was all about one-upmanship and who had the stronger backing.

What an eye-opener.

Suddenly, a violent jolt rocked the vehicle, and all three were thrown forward into their seats.

Stephanie, who hadn't buckled up, tumbled to the floor with a cry, "Ah, it hurts!"

Her head had struck the car door.
