Shattered Illusions: Love, Lies, and Redemption

Chapter 845

"Remi..."Her voice was a soft whisper, yet to Remington, it reverberated with a thrilling shiver straight to his core.

Even though she didn't call him 'brother,' the familiar 'Remi' was far better than the cold formality of 'Mr. Dashiell.' At least it showed Lizzy hadn't completely rejected their shared past.

Remington observed the woman beneath him, her eyelashes fluttering with nervous anticipation, deepening the intensity in his gaze.

Despite the temptation, he summoned all his self-control to pull away from her soft, enticing body before he lost himself completely.

He sat up and helped Lizzy sit up as well.

Breathing heavily, Lizzy attempted to smooth her disheveled hair and tucked a stray lock behind her ear. Catching a glimpse of his relaxed posture, her cheeks flushed with heat, prompting her to quickly avert her gaze. Inwardly, she silently cursed him, calling him a "jerk, sleazebag, shameless."n"What are you cursing me for?"

His deep voice filled the space beside her, startling her.

Lizzy jumped, "Nothing!"This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She denied quickly, but Remington chuckled, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.n"I'm a normal man, Lizzy. It's been months since... you know. You can do the math-four months without... well, you get it."

As he spoke, his tone almost whiny, Lizzy felt the heat spread from her cheeks down her neck.

Flustered and annoyed, she interrupted him, "Shut up! If you can't handle it, go find someone else, you..."

What did it have to do with her?

Besides, wasn't this all his own fault? She wasn't going to feel sorry for him.

However, her words seemed to stir something within him.

In a swift motion, he pulled her into his arms, laying her across his lap.

Before she could finish her sentence, his kiss descended like a storm, sealing her lips and silencing any further protests.

The kiss was fervent, and Lizzy

instinctively struggled. But in doing so, she inadvertently triggered an even deeper response from him, marked by the deep, muffled groan escaping between their entwined lips.

When the kiss finally broke, it was only to deepen further, more insistent.

Lizzy dared not move, forced to endure his passionate fervor.

She felt like a fish on a sizzling grill, surrounded by heat, her gasps for air only intensifying the flames.

It wasn't until she genuinely struggled for breath, her eyes misted with tears, that Remington finally released her.

For a moment, the enclosed car was filled with their mingled breaths, charged with an unspeakable tension.

With her hair in disarray, Lizzy lay softly on Remington's lap, pinned beneath him.

As she tried to rise, a wave of shame washing over her, Remington suddenly grasped her chin.

Gazing down at her, he issued a warning, Lizzy, listen to me. I can accept you not forgiving me or accepting me for now, but I can't accept you pushing me towards other women!" en

Her words were like daggers, piercing him with a pain so intense it felt as if they were tearing his insides apart.

Especially after what Stella had said back in the parking lot.

And he didn't even dare to ask Lizzy directly if she really said those things to Stella.

What did he even mean to her now?

Lizzy was genuinely frightened by him now, and inexplicably, she felt a twinge of guilt. She nodded at him, "I understand."

Remington's hand, which had been firm on her chin, relaxed, moving gently to wipe away the tear at the corner of her swollen lips before leaning back, giving her space.

Lizzy immediately propped herself up on the seat and moved towards the car window, opening it for some fresh air.
