Chapter 709 Repay Her

Cathy was struggling again.

"I have enough money for the rest of our lives. Cathy, are you willing to leave with me?"

Sophia felt it heartbreaking to hear such a decision, yet she had no reason to stop her grandmother.

That was the best solution for Cathy.

In the end, Sophia could sense that the old Mrs. Lawson favored Cathy over anyone else in the family.

"How much money do you have, Grandma?" Cathy asked.

"About five billion," she replied nonchalantly.

Fifty billion may not be a lot for other members of the Lawson family but it would be more than enough

for Cathy who would only take 500 million at most. She could tell that all of this money was meant for

her and couldn't resist being tempted by it.

Moreover, if she left with all that money and spent it all, Sophia and other Lawsons would still support

them.

Most importantly though, she wouldn't have to go to jail anymore!

"Grandma, are we really leaving?"

"Yes," nodded the old Mrs. Lawson firmly.

"Don't you regret it? You won't see Sophia or your two sons."

The old Mrs. Lawson knew better than anyone how hard this decision must be.

Yet, Cathy would stand no chance of staring over if she didn't leave here.

"It's okay as long as I'm alive," said Grandma reassuringly.

Cathy's heart softened at these words and she spoke up again, "Okay Grandma I'll go with you but I

have one condition!"

Edwin couldn't hold his tongue any longer, "Cathy, if it wasn't because we respect Grandma so much,

do you think we wouldn't send you straight into prison? What kind of conditions do you have?"

Sophia interjected, "Say it."

"I want each person here to give me a billion dollars!" declared Cathy confidently.

"You're shameless!" Bard exclaimed indignantly; how could someone who had made such a mistake

still ask for more?

"Well then I won't go with Grandma!" said Cathy.

"Fine," replied the old Mrs. Lawson calmly."Then Sophia will send you straight into prison without giving

you a single penny."

Sophia looked shocked at hearing those words.

Everyone here seemed so powerful that there seemed nothing Cathy could do! This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Cathy saw a fruit knife on the coffee table and was about to grab it when Drake walked over and

effortlessly took the knife.

He looked at her and said, "Don't bother with the same tricks, it's not interesting."

Cathy could do nothing but said, "I won't go!"

"You can choose not to go, but I'm only giving you two options now. Either leave with your grandmother

– of course I don't want you to choose this option – or I'll have someone throw you directly into jail. You

have five seconds starting now!"

Drake counted down as he looked at his watch.

The five numbers made Cathy feel more anxious than ever before. She knew that everyone was

serious this time and no one would indulge her anymore.

The situation was hopeless; she relaxed her shoulders and said, "I'll go with my grandmother."

"It's been more than five seconds already," Drake interrupted her without hesitation. "You can leave if

you want to but your grandmother won't follow you."

Drake's words were like an imperial edict that could not be disobeyed.

Cathy cried out desperately: "Grandma! Don't abandon me! Grandma!"

But no matter how much she shouted, The old Mrs Lawson seemed deaf to everything.

Finally, Cathy's voice faded away.

Sophia stepped forward towards the old Mrs Lawson, ready to speak, but the old Mrs Lawson spoke

first.

"Sophia, I know what you want to say so don't feel sorry for me. It's because of my indulgence that

Cathy has come this far today; Most of the mistakes Cathy made are related to me."

"So I've decided that wherever Drake sends her off, where I will go too. I know all of you want to take

care of me properly but I'm not worthy of it."

Sophia asked worriedly: "What if she causes trouble for you? Grandma, your body can't stand any

more torture!"

"I bring it upon myself! If only from the beginning I had educated Cathay like you, then none of these

things would have happened today, wouldn't they?"

Sophia still couldn't rest assured, so Abbott and Laura came over putting a hand each on either side on

top Sophia's shoulder trying their best comfort Sophia.

"Sophia, your grandmother knows how you feel. Since this is her choice, you must support her," he

said.

Sophia had been watching them the whole time.

The old Mrs. Lawson walked up to her four grandsons and held their hands together.

Tears streamed down the old Mrs. Lawson's face as she spoke, "I'm sorry, it's my fault. We should have

had so much time left to spend together, but the mistakes I've made needed to be corrected by myself.

Don't be sad; I may not be able to spend much more time with you in this life, but in the next one, I will

treat you well."

Bard said sadly, "Grandma, please don't say that; it hurts my heart! We finally have a chance to be with

you and now you want to leave?"

"I understand," The old Mrs. Lawson replied softly. "But if I don't go back with Cathy now, she'll make

everyone's lives miserable."

Bard wanted to say something else but the old Mrs. Lawson patted their hands and said, "It's okay; as

long as you video chat with me often enough, I will be content."

The four of them looked at each other.

As grandchildren, they seldom felt their grandmother's love.

Thus, the old Mrs. Lawson felt that she also owed her four grandsons a lot.

She realized her mistakes too late!

The old Mrs. Lawson hugged them before turning towards Sophia.

"Sophia, William is here now and since I won't be able take care of him anymore, please help me."

Sophia went forward and hugged her tightly while tears flowed down both their faces.

Surprisingly even Sophia didn't expect such deep emotions between herself and Grandma after

Grandma returned home this time.

"It's okay, Grandma," Sophia assured her with sobs, "Don't worry. Uncle William might make a fuss

sometimes, but he won't be as insane as Cathy. I promise you that he'll spend the rest of his life safe

and sound. Yet..."

The more she spoke, the more painful Sophia was. She was hurting inside terribly from all of this.

The old Mrs. Lawson held onto Sophia tightly.

It was a pity that she repented so late.

She would repay what she owed Sophia in her next life.
