Chapter 153 KAIDEN STIRLING She was about to say more when we heard a crash from inside the room. Her eyes grew horrified and she raced into the room. Francisco followed close behind her and I rushed in after him. Dane was right behind me. My first thought was that Safiya was trying to launch some kind of attack on Freda again. Now that I could help it, I did not want to allow it to happen again Once Lyra was no longer obstructing my view Feda’s bed, I saw that she was not on top of the bed. My heart dropped to the base of my stomach and I lost my breath. That did not last for long though. Lyra knelt by the side of the bed and my eyes rushed there. I saw Freda on the floor and I wanted to hurry to her and help her off the floor but then I was nor sure Freda would want her to grow troubled or irritated by my presence or the fact that I would be touching her. “Freda!” Lyra exclaimed, kneeling beside her. She grabbed Freda’s face in her hands and looked into her eyes. I examined Freda’s face, still unsure of what exactly was going on and I saw tears start to leave her eyes. Are you okay?” She asked, Freda, examining Freda’s face and hands carefully for any wounds. Francisco knelt at Freda’s side and hugged her. My heart melted in my chest. The poor boy had probably thought that something was happening to Freda again. He was so devastated from the first time and I understood it. He would definitely need therapy when all this would be over, when I had handled everything. 14:20 Freda reached to hug him but Lyra grabbed her hands. I saw Lyra’s figure grow tense and I took a step forward to see what was wrong. She better not have been injured or something. “Sh– I mean crap, your hands are bleeding,” she said, looking towards me. I stared, waiting for her to tell me what to do. My eyes caught on Freda and I saw her cheeks grow red with embarasment. I immediately wished I could tell her she had nothing to be embarassed about. Instead, I spoke. “I’ll get the Doctor,” I said,
turning around to leave. The last thing I wanted to do was make her feel embarrassed especially when she was in this condition. And I also wanted the doctor to check on her now that she was awake. Dane followed after me as I turned and walked down the hallway. “Is she okay?” He asked quietly as. We still had not told Lyra about what the doctor had told us. I ran my hand through my hair and looked at him. “I really don’t know. I need the doctor to examine her so we can know where she stands,” I said and she nodded. A nurse met us halfway through. “Where is Doctor Charles?” I asked. She nodded and turned towards back in the direction she had been coming from. “Please come with me,” she said to us and I silently walked after her. My mind was racing with all of the possibilities of outcomes that could come out of Freda’s situation. She did not deserve any of this. Out of all the things that Safiya had done to her, this was the absolute worst. Out of all the people I wanted to destroy, Safiya was at the top of my list. And I was not going to show her any mercy at all. I turned to Dane who was now walking beside me while the 14.20 – 11 nurse was walking in front of us. “You can go home after this. We will talk to Freda and Safiya tomorrow and we will look for all the ways around this,” I told him and he nodded. “Sounds like a plan. I’m beat,” he said and I nodded. “Thanks a lot for your help today, man. It feels so good to be working with you again.” I said and he gave me a grin in return. She knocked on the door and slid the door open. She turned to us. “He will have you,” she said and I nodded in response. “Thanks,” Dane said. I headed through the door and on sighting me, the doctor hurried to his feet. “Alpha,” he greeted. “She is awake.” I said and he gave me a solemn nod. We all walked out of the office and down the hallway silently. A group of people wheeling a stretcher rushed into the hallway we were and the stretcher almost hit me. A woman’s hands were clasped to her lips and she was weeping as she followed.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
