Not Your Regular CEO Husband

Chapter 15 The wedding day

Viola

I slept in Kade’s arms as he kept reassuring me that I’ll be fine. When I woke up he was gone, I wasn’t with my phone I couldn’t call him and when I thought of the room where my phone would be I got scared.

I sat up on Kade’s bed and looked at his room, it was dimly lit, he never liked bright light right from the start. The light in his room was blue and it gave a perfect lighting for the portraits he had hung on the wall. Aside from that, Kade’s room was too dull. I felt like I was the cause of this.

I thought about it, if I marry Klyde tomorrow, everyday of my life will be miserable because Klyde would abuse me, Kade will not be around to save me and he would be so hurt because he clearly still feels something for me.

In conclusion, I would live a lonely painful life.

The only way out of this is to escape! I took Kade’s keys and locked the door, I walked out of the house casually even though I was still dressed in my see through night gown. The bodyguards outside stared at me wide eyed but I didn’t care.

” Hey umm, I was wondering if you could give me a ride.” I said to one of them and he struggled to keep his eyes away from my body – yeah that would be hard.

” A ride to where? If I may ask!” I heard Emelia asked and I cursed the day I met her. Why did she always have to ruin my plans?

” Emelia…”

” – are you trying to runaway? Because that would be pointless. You are the mother of my grandchildren, though you’re not from a noble background, I’m giving you the privilege of joining this family yet you still want out?” She asked as she folded her hands and stared at me. Her fake lashes blinked several times as she watched me closely, expecting an answer from me.

” I just want to be free, Emelia I can’t marry Klyde. He disgusts me and -”

” – he didn’t disgust you when you were sleeping with him every chance you got?” She interrupted and at that moment I made up my mind not to argue with her because it was obvious that she’s made up her mind on me marrying Klyde.

” Hazel, take her to the private room and keep her there until tomorrow,” Emelia said with a smirk, I don’t know if she expects me to beg but for once I decided to take Elizabeth’s advise and show Emelia that at this point I can’t be broken by her any more than I already am.

I scoffed as the man held me by my hand and pulled me with him, the entire time my glare was on Emelia. The man threw me inside the private room and shut the door after me.

I couldn’t cry, what would crying do for me anyway? Instead, I lay down on the bed and slept.

When I woke up the next morning, I saw some women in my room. They were maids and had just placed a wedding gown beside me on the bed. I slowly sat up, curled my knees to myself and wrapped my arms around my knees as I watched them.

Victoria was part of them but for some strange reason she didn’t glare at me today, she actually seemed sympathetic! I looked away from her and looked at her just to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me but I was right, she couldn’t even look me in the eye!

Something was definitely wrong, why would she look at me with pity? She’s always known that I would be marrying Klyde, so why would she look at me like I was the most miserable thing she’s ever seen.

Madame Faustina came in shortly and looked at me, she too seemed sad for me. Now something was definitely wrong but I couldn’t quite place my finger on it.

” Ah-hem! Miss Walden. These ladies will prepare you for your wedding today. You’ll get proper skin care and whatever fruit you want – because you can’t have food until after the wedding. I hope you will not cause them any trouble,” she said to me delicately. It seemed she expected me to throw a tantrum or to fight back but I didn’t have it in me to fight a lost cause.

When I didn’t say anything, she sighed and told the ladies to start.

” Miss Walden? Please come with me.” The lady said and I followed her to the bathroom where two other ladies had already started mixing some sweet-smelling oils of some sort in the bath tub.

They washed my hair while I lay in the bathtub and played with my fingers.

” Nervous?” Said one of them that washed my hair. I said nothing to her, I just continued twirling my fingers in the foam.

” He’s a good man, he seems to really care for you. I think that’s good enough,” she said and I turned around and stared at her.

Was she being serious? Klyde is a good man? And he cares for me?! She probably wasn’t around when Klyde tried to rape me, if not she would’ve known that Klyde was nothing more than a beast.

She was just like other women who say Klyde as a saint and the most perfect man in the world. She was a fool and I would not speak with a fool.

” I’m sorry,” she said and the lady who seemed to be in charge of the whole skincare process smiled apologetically at me.

” Ava, mind your business now will you? I’m sorry Miss Walden.” The lady said and I just sighed.

An hour later, I got out of the bath tub as I have to admit the scented candles and the fragrance from the oils really calmed down my nerves. I honestly don’t know how I haven’t freaked out all this time!

The women toweled my body and wrapped my hair in a towel. They oiled my skin and proceeded to dress my hair and do my makeup. When they were done, they took me to the bedroom and I sat in my robe and watched as the women stopped their gossip when I sat down on the chair.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

I honestly didn’t care about their whispers so I kept quiet. Victoria was the first to smile at me and say, ” don’t you love your dress, it’s the most elegant thing I’ve ever seen and it truly suits you!”

I stared at her in awe, why on Earth was she saying this to me? Didn’t she only have the most vile things to say to me and she never ever ran out of what to say to me so what the hell is this.

My face must’ve said it all because she just cringed and then sighed after.

” Ma’am I… I know I’ve been awful to you but its because I thought you were a wicked woman. But now I know better, and after what Master Klyde tried to do yesterday I… Realized that you really do not want him or his money. You’re not a gold digger and you most certainly don’t deserve all this cruelty that I have shown you – for that I’m so sorry.” Victoria said and I genuinely couldn’t say anything to her. I was beyond dumbfounded.

” I can’t believe it took you witnessing me almost getting raped to know that I never wanted this life. Did you really think I ran away with the Harold’s money and shamelessly came back here to marry Klyde just so that I could get more money?” I found myself lashing out at Victoria.

” I’m sorry, I was wrong to have misjudged you like that. I and my subordinates will ensure that we right all our wrongs, please forgive us.” Victoria said, her eyes were glued to the floor the entire time and she clutched her apron tightly.

” I don’t know why you’re suddenly remorseful but if you really mean what you just said then… I appreciate it. Thank you so -”

“- really?! Thank you Miss Walden! I promise that you’ll enjoy my company from now on, you won’t even have to worry about a thing anymore!” Victoria said and she smiled brightly, so did the other maids.

It was so strange to see them act that way towards me that I looked away.

” Ladies! The wedding is on in twenty minutes for God’s sake get her dressed!” Madame Faustina scolded as she entered the room.

” Yes Madame!” They all chorused and quickly brought the gown out of the hanger stand.

Victoria didn’t lie when she said it was the most elegant thing she’d ever seen. It was beyond beautiful, the pearls around the neck line and waist line were immaculate. And the fabric was unique in a way that when light fell on it at a certain angle it would give a mix of colors – like a rainbow!

” There’s no other wedding dress like this. It was chosen my master -”

” – that’s enough Victoria, it’s a pretty dress. I’ll wear it now,” I said and the sparkle in Victoria’s eyes disappeared when she realized what she almost did.

I didn’t want to be reminded of the fact that Klyde actually made this dress for my use only. Even if the dress so damn beautiful, I still wasn’t happy to wear it. I wished I was marrying someone I actually liked not some piece of –

” How do you know this would fit me anyway?” I asked when the thought popped in my head.

” He says he knows your size. It was rather surprising but we think he may have been right. Put it on,” Madame Faustina said and I sighed.

I got up and disrobed, even they couldn’t take their eyes off of my body. I knew I was endowed in that aspect, a little too much for my own good. Most times people thought I had surgery done on my hips and breasts because my boobs were small, I was very curvy and my waist was really small in comparison to my hips. What I didn’t have was big butt and I was thankful for that. My butt was just good enough to compliment my small boobs.

They unzipped the gown and I gently placed my feet while they pulled up the gown and zipped up the gown with no worries.

” It’s amazing, it actually… Fits!” Madame Faustina said as she came to take a closer look at me from the front.

” Or doesn’t it feel tight enough?” Victoria asked and I nodded my head, ” it’s… perfect,” I found myself admitting and they smiled.

” I’ll just let down your hair and…” The lady who had taken care of my skin was saying as she removed the pin from my hair and it fell perfectly over my shoulder till it reached my waist in the front and my butt from the back.

Then she slid a familiar looking bracelet on my left hand, it was pure gold.

” Smack your lips together one more time,” she said to me and I did.

They all looked at me like I was some sort of gem.

” You look beautiful Miss Walden.” Victoria said and I smiled at her.

” Just call me Viola, since we’re not at each other’s necks anymore.” I said and she nodded.

” Is she ready? Everyone’s waiting at the -” someone was saying as she barged into the room.

It was Elizabeth!

” Oh my God. She’s perfect!” She said and then she rushed to hug me but she stopped abruptly.

” This dress is the most angelic thing I’ve seen. Oh my brother is -”

She suddenly stopped talking and then she said, ” let’s go. Your bridesmaid whose identity you have no clue about is going to be around you twenty-four-seven!” She said enthusiastically and I smiled at her.

” You’re talking about yourself right?” I teased and her eyes darted away from me to Victoria and Madame Faustina.

” Which one of you told her?” She asked and the maids burst out laughing.

” It’s obvious Eliza, you’re too beautiful not to be my bridesmaid. Now please can we go and get this over with?” I asked and they all sighed.

I looked at myself in the mirror for the first and probably the last time and sighed as well because, never have I ever seen a bride dressed so beautiful for a marriage that would be the ugliest and most tragic thing ever.
