Nine months too late: After divorce

Chapter 5

Sylvie was drunk, but she knew there was no way she could imagine her asshole of a husband standing in front of her. Although, it didn't change the fact that it was very very rare. "Kage?" She squinted her eyes, belching afterwards.

Kage's countenance was grim and forbidding. His gaze lasted longer on Westley before moving to Sylvie

He went closer.

"Do you have any idea how wrong it is to drink with strangers? Your drink could get spiked and you might end up losing your valuables," he said in an offensive tone to Sylvie, but Westley chuckled. "Hello, Mr. Hawkins, my name is...

"I don't care," Kage cut him off. He turned to Sylvie, grabbing her bag

"In that case, you do know me, Westley smiled. "Then, you must know I'm not capable of pickpocketing like you accused."

"I did? Can't remember. Unless you think you perfectly fit the description."

He grabbed Sylvie's hand a little roughly but not enough to be noticed by Westley.

"You should take care of her, Westley nodded his head at Sylvie. "Seeing a married woman drinking so miserably at a bar is...well you know?" He shrugged. "Alarming-

Kage ground his teeth. Damn her! Now, he felt like tweaking her nose for giving an asshole the opportunity to say that to his face.

"Oh. I already told you, Westley, I'm fine. I only came here cause I miss drinking. Sylvie said with a tipsy smile.

Kage scoffed. They were already on a first-name basis? How interesting.

Jerking her arm, he led her out of the bar.

"Ouch. You're hurting me!" Sylvie grumbled, but Kage ignored her until they were in front of his car.

"Yeah, and I wish I could do more than that," he brusqued.

The backdoor was opened for him. He shoved Sylvie in before joining her. With his driver and a guard in the front seat, they took off.

Kage regarded Sylvie with a certain tightness in his chest. He couldn't understand why he'd been forced to go the bar after seeing those pictures. A part of him hated himself for it, but a part was glad he'd been able to pull her way from that nutjob.

He didn't have any relationship with Westley. He was aware he was one of the Billionaires that ruled the business world - just like himself - but he's never had a bad experience to make Kage dislike him. Yet, seeing him with Sylvie had made him angry. "Hey, you," Sylvie adjusted in her seat. The dimness of the car made it difficult to see her properly, but Kage could tell her cheeks were still pink.

"What's with the whole drama, huh? Why did you even come there? How did you even deepened. "Have you been stalking me?"This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

"I'd rather count stones than stalk you," his tone was cold and pissed.

"And I'd prefer the company of a rabid raccoon to yours."

Minutes passed.

know I was there!" Her frown

"You should've left me there, you know? Westley's company was quite entertaining. Plus the bar is more comforting than what we call home, she mumbled. Kage was silent, but his hands balled into fists

When they finally reach home, she was half asleep. But he tapped her to consciousness.

Grunting, Sylvie exited the car and proceeded into the living room. There was no one in it, except for Kage who tailed her.

"Hey, we need to talk, his voice reached her ears.

"About what? I'm tired, Sylvie didn't stop walking, the stairs being her destination.

Kage stormed towards her, grabbed her wrist and whirled her around to face him

"You're my wife, Sylvie! I know this whole marriage shit is contracted and will be ending in two weeks, but for the meantime, you're the wife of Kage Hawkins. You can't be seen drinking so miserably in a public bar, and in the company of another man! I told you not to bring Sylvie rubbed her hand against her aching head.

"Please... I need to go, she muttered tiredly.

She managed to free her wrist from him but was grabbed again.

"I need to know you understand. You can't be seen drinking in that manner, Sylvie...

"Kage, let me go...

"Tell me you understand."

"I said let me go!" She screamed, her voice echoing through the mansion.

Her eyes were awake with a blend of pain and anger, glaring at him.

"Why does it always have to be about you, huh? Why not me? What happened to my feelings?"

She forced her hand from his grip and continued.

"Do you even know what I go through? Do you think my life is as rosy as yours? I'm sad, Kage! I'm angry! Today, I lost an important contract to your stupid girlfriend, or lover or whatever the hell she is! And like that wasn't enough, the bitch told me to my face that you two a Tears were flooding her cheeks now, her voice still hitting the roof.

"I know I mean nothing to you. Hell, you mean nothing to me, dude! But how can you be so eager to move on that you're already making preparations even while we're still married? How can you be so unreasonable!!"

She turned towards the staircase, but paused and turned back to him. Her voice had attracted a few people downstairs

How can you be so unreasonable even when I'm carrying your child? Sylvie was on the verge of saying it. It was the one question she desperately wanted to ask but couldn't.

"You know what? You two can go fuck each other," she sniffed. "I'm sick of you, I'm sick of this damn family. It's actually never been a family to me. I just want to go. Kage, damn it! I want to get out of here!"

The pinkness of her face had switched into red. Her face was a mask of cold fury. She was a broken woman.

Kage quietly watched her, his face betraying no emotion.

Ignoring Phoebe who had come into the room, Sylvie took the stairs and ran up

Later that night, Sylvie had packed a few things of hers and left the house. The atmosphere was suddenly too suffocating for her, she couldn't breath

She went over to her dad's place and cried herself to sleep

For two days, Sylvie didn't return to Kage's house. She didn't go the office either and kept herself locked up in her room.

Π

From time to time, she thought of the baby and how easy it'd have been if it wasn't there. The thought of raising a child alone

terrified her.

Kage had tried reaching out to her on that second day. But she ignored his calls and rude texts of "Where the fuck are you? Towards evening. Sylvie visited the kitchen to find some snacks. There, she met Iris, juicing some oranges. "There you are, Iris chuckled. "I can't believe you're still here. Goodness, I hope to hell I never have a marriage as unhappy as yours."

Ignoring her, Sylvie went over to one of the cabinets.

"Dad has told you to leave, hasn't he? Why are you being so stubborn?"

"Are you familiar with the concept of silence?" Sylvie snapped at her. "You should try it sometime, Iris. It works for people like

you."

Lana chuckled. "I bet you felt lucky when you had to marry Kage. I still wonder why his grandfather had to involve you n the will. Why was it so necessary for Kage to get married to you before claiming his inheritance?" Sylvie had always been thinking of that. She never had a close relationship with Kage's grandfather. Yet...

Her phone rang in the pocket of her jeans short.

Reaching for it, she realized it was a strange number. It was probably Kage calling - she concluded as she returned the phone to it's position.

The phone rang again. Then on her way to the room, she rece
