Chapter 16
Chapter 16
“The patient’s condition changes rapidly.” The pediatrician was quiet momentarily before saying heavily,
“As doctors, we can’t be certain how the illness will progress next, either. I suggest seeking a
compatible bone marrow as soon as possible. The bone marrow transplant should happen the sooner,
the better.”
“Run a detailed test on me.” Jasper volunteered.
“Okay, I’ll get the nurse to do it for you now.’
Jasper held the doctor’s hand sincerely and pleaded, “No matter how much money or the price, please
save her. You have to save her.”
Cole watched as Jasper left with the nurse.
He could not move a step as his legs felt so heavy.
“Doctor, can I go in and see her?”
Cole could barely imagine that the cutie pie who called him “Uncle Cole” so sweetly would be lying on
the cold hospital bed like this.
“Yeah.”
Cole entered the emergency ward.
Tinkerbell was hooked up with various tubes from various machines that were beeping gratingly.
Cole observed her face seriously. Perhaps Jasper’s words were hinting. He actually recognized some
similarities with Bradley through Tinkerbell’s features.
He hesitated but ultimately stroked Tinkerbell’s head and took some of her hair.
When he left the ward, he told the nurse, “Please do a bone marrow match test for me too.”
The nurse was delightfully surprised. “Sure, please come with me.”
Jasper met Cole again when they were both going to be tested.
There was a wash of worry on Jasper’s handsome face as he said, “Cole, you should know that direct
family members have bigger chances in surgeries like a bone marrow transplant. I suggest you
persuade your Mr. Bradley here for a test. Even if he doesn’t love Esther, the kid is innocent.”
As Bradley’s assistant, Cole was naturally biased toward Bradley.
“Mr. Searle, you must be kidding. We can’t even be sure if Tinkerbell’s Mr. Warner’s daughter.”
Jasper scoffed and uttered, “Cole, people might lie, but not data. The paternity test will tell you the truth
whether Tinkerbell is Bradley and Esther’s daughter.”
Cole had already retrieved Tinkerbell’s hair, but he said without letting anything slip, “Mr. Searle,
I’m just an assistant. I can’t decide anything for Mr. Warner. But don’t worry. I’ll relay everything you
said tonight to him.”
After Cole was done with the tests, he returned to the private hospital under the Warner Group that
Felix was in from People’s Hospital.
Felix and Esther were currently in operation.
Bradley, who was always busy, had put aside all his work to wait outside the hospital’s operation
ward.
“Mr. Warner,” Cole greeted respectfully. “I brought you and Ms. Anstey some food.”
Liliane shook her head in worry.
“I don’t have an appetite.”
No one knew what was happening in the surgery ward, and Bradley had no idea how Felix was doing.
He would be uninterested even if a luxurious feast was presented to him now.
“Mr. Warner, Ms. Anstey, Mr. Felix’s recovery after the surgery is crucial. You should have some in
order to take care of him better.”
Bradley turned to Liliane, seated on the bench, and tried to persuade her softly. “Liliane, go have
some food.’
“Okay, I’ll eat for Felix.”
If it were not to keep up her act, Liliane would not have waited outside the operation ward for so long.
She pretended to look worried as she passed by Cole with the food. Once she returned to the hospital
ward, she discarded all pretenses and revealed her triumphant and brazen self.
Bradley had promised to marry her after Felix’s surgery, and the boy would lose his value by then. She
was tired of acting like a considerate wife and loving mother for over four years!
As for Esther, she was a piece of trash! She was given a hand to escape, yet Bradley had still caught
and brought her back! What a pity! Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Liliane had assumed she could get rid of Esther and Felix in one go, but it was fine, though. There was
no guarantee that Felix would survive after the surgery.
Liliane enjoyed the delicious food while she scrolled through her phone and planned how to best
maximize her gains from Felix’s death.
‘Dear Felix, don’t blame me for being brutal. Blame yourself for being Esther’s son!”
A beep indicated that Liliane had received a text on her phone. She only took a glance, and the device
dropped to the floor with a thud.
She picked it up in a fluster and repeatedly verified the number that had texted her. The person who
had helped her frame Esther five years ago was back again!?
