Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Around six in the evening, Claire stood by the window of the hotel suite and opened the curtains. The
scene was remarkably grand.
The guests downstairs toasted each other. Mr. Barton, dressed in his best suit with a cane in his hand,
was surrounded by people.
"Mr. Barton, Mr. Tyree has arrived." Someone whispered in Mr. Barton's ear to remind him.
"Oh? Is that so? Quickly welcome him and Claire!" Mr. Barton said in a low voice. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"Well, even though Mr. Tyree has arrived, the person he's with..."
It was not in their place to tell him who Tyree came with, so they kept quiet.
A Bentley stopped at the entrance of the hotel.
Tyree was dressed in a white suit and he stepped out of the car with his long legs.
The door on the other side of the car opened and a woman stepped out of the car in high heels. The
enchanting woman immediately approached Tyree and they walked through the front door of the hotel
behind a waiter.
As soon as the couple arrived, they became the center of attention.
Claire also saw this scene. As expected, she saw the facial expressions of Mr. Barton changing rapidly.
She quietly put down the curtains.
"What are you doing?" Mr. Barton controlled his temper and said in a low voice, "Where is Claire? Are
you trying to piss me off?"
At the mention of Claire's name, Tyree's face darkened slightly. "You wanted me to marry her, I have
already done so. But I'm afraid you can't decide who I go out with!"
He didn't know what spell that fool had cast on the old man.
Whenever he thought of how she had made his suit sticky the last time he saw her, he was instantly
disgusted.
"You!" Mr. Barton was so angry that he struck the ground with his cane. "Claire is the only
granddaughter-in-law that I will recognize. Except for her, I won't approve of anyone else!"
These comments were deliberately aimed at Sara. She was no fool.
As she sensed the tension rising between them, Sara quickly offered him the gift in her hand and said,
"Grandfather Barton, happy birthday to you."
"Who gave you permission to speak here?" Mr. Barton retorted right away, which made Sara
speechless for a long time.
He knew that his grandson was not satisfied with his arrangement.
However, Tyree had never had the chance to get to know Claire, so he didn't know that Claire was
actually a good girl.
"Would you please bring Claire over here so everyone could see her?" Mr. Barton turned to the butler
and ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Barton."
After the butler left, Sara's fingers, which were holding the gift, turned white as she tightened her grip.
She inadvertently glanced at Tyree's side profile from the corner of her eyes, his facial expression
became much colder.
"Tyree, it seems that your grandfather doesn't like me. Why don't... I leave?" Sara whispered.
Sara asked tentatively and had no intention to leave at all. However, Tyree didn't answer her directly, as
his facial expression remained as cold as ice.
As a result, she didn't dare to move or make a sound.
After a long while, the butler came down and frantically told Mr. Barton, "Ms. Claire is missing!"
