Mr. You, Please Dote On Me

Chapter 29: Get Out Of Here with the Money

“Knock it off! Why don’t you ask your fiancée how she had a miscarriage?”

Shiyao stood tall, retaining her unyielding momentum. Having been alone and strong for long, she was like a rose with thorns, attractive but inapproachable.

“Why are you so noisy?”

Vice President Lin shouted fiercely. The crowd lowered their heads and dispersed, leaving there only Shiyao, Li Sicheng and Li Sicheng’s mother who was crying on the ground..

“Is this how you work?”

There wasn’t any emotion in You Ze’s soft voice, but his tone conveyed an inapproachable attitude that was rarely seen.

Shiyao glared at Li Sicheng, casting an empty glance at the tall straight man. Then her eyes became sour.

Shiyao never expected that You Ze would help her, but she couldn’t conceal her grievance at the sight of him.

“I’m sorry, Mr. You, Vice President Lin. It’s my fault.”

Li Sicheng bowed his head in apology. That was the way he was. He was humble and cautious, bending if necessary.

Li Sicheng’s mother got up from the ground with her face full of tears, and fell to Vice President Lin.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Boss, that’s your staff member who denies having killed my grandson. If so, I’m gonna hold you responsible for it!”

Vice President Lin felt nauseous when looking at her fat body and oily broad face, but he had to pretend to be calm.

“Madam, please keep your hands to yourself when talking with me.”

“What do you want?”

You Ze said flatly, flashing his eyes at Shiyao.

“I heard that your grandson is just worth one million?”

You Ze curved his eyes into a nice angle, forcing a smile at Li Sicheng’s mother.

“Eh…yes. If she’s willing to pay me one million in compensation, I will forget the whole thing!”

Li’s mother looked embarrassed, but confidently claimed as if she had gotten the goods on Shiyao.

“Okay, it’s on me.”

You Ze took out a bank card and gave it to her.

“Password is 888888. Take it away and let’s end it here.”

Li’s mother incredulously took the bank card, stunned as if someone were pinching her throat.

Not only Li’s mother but also all, the other people present, especially Shiyao, were dumbfounded.

‘What’s he doing? Why does he come to my rescue in front of so many people? Is he gonna announce our relationship?’

A series of questions popped into Shiyao’s mind.

It would be hard for her at work if their relationship was made public. No matter whether You Ze helped her or not, she would be in trouble.

“Mr. You, thanks for your help, but I can’t accept it, since it means admitting I did it.”

Shiyao’s chest heaved obviously with great anger. She would find evidence to prove her innocence.

“So? Do you want to keep messing around here?”

From Shiyao’s hesitation, You Ze instantly knew what she was worried about.

“If you wanna to prove that you are innocent, go find evidence. Words alone are feeble and the most stupid resistance.”

Full of smiles, You Ze cocked his head staring at Shiyao’s awkward face.

“The money is lent to you and will be deducted from your salary.”

“Don’t read too much into it. I just don’t want her to disturb the company order. How do you think, Vice President Lin?”

Vice President Lin stood beside You Ze, sweating heavily from nervousness. He had thought that You Ze would be furious, but he didn’t expect him to be so protective of Shiyao.

“Yes, you’re right. What Mr. You did is for the sake of company. Shiyao, you must thank Mr. You!”

Shiyao helplessly dropped her head, saying drily,

“Thank you, Mr. You.”

You Ze’s reason for helping Shiyao was, in other people’s eyes, very convincing. But for Vice President Lin, there was something wrong, though he couldn’t tell.

“Go home now!”

Li Sicheng pulled his mother aside quietly, rushing her to go back home.

Li Sicheng’s mother proudly glared at Shiyao, triumphant. Although she was reluctant to let Shiyao off, she had no reason to continue with the money in hand. So she returned in triumph.

“It’s your own affair. Now that it has been solved in private, don’t make trouble with the company again. Otherwise, you’ll all be fired.”

You Ze put his hands in pants pocket, wearing a frightening poker face. Li Sicheng could not help shivering and answered obediently.

While in Shiyao’s eyes, You Ze was surprisingly gentle.

“What are you waiting for? Go back to work.”

Even though he was stupid, Vice President Lin felt the intense embarrassment in the air and hurriedly ended the farce.

You Ze gracefully turned around and left without looking back or giving Shiyao a second look.

Shiyao took a deep breath with her hand over her chest. She almost collapsed on the floor in weakness.

“Yaoyao,”

Li Sicheng rushed to Shiyao and wanted to help her up.

“Stay away from me,”

Shiyao yelled at him. Holding on to the wall, she tottered into the staff room and locked herself inside.

Li Sicheng’s hand paused in the air, unable to move. There was a sudden aching in his heart somehow. Was he feeling pity for his unborn child or Shiyao? He didn’t know.

Sitting on a bench, Shiyao buried her head deep between her legs, recalling what she had gone through these years.

For long absence of her father, her mother endured a lot of hardship bringing her up. Distain and mocking never went away, so she had always been tough.

Shiyao’s mother was a stubborn woman; she took good care of Shiyao despite all the suffering..

Later, Shiyao left her mother to go to university, and kept her strong character as always. Even when she became Li Sicheng’s girlfriend, she never swallowed her pride.

She remembered that she and Ji Manqing had been good friends then. They talked about everything and did everything together.

She would even bring Ji manqing when out on a date with Li Sicheng.

Ji Manqing acted like a fragile princess in need of care every time. Because Shiyao was a girl, most of the time it was Li Sicheng who took care of Ji.

Ji Manqing had said more than once to Shiyao, “Yaoyao, your boyfriend is so nice. If only I had such a good boyfriend.”

Shiyao always cheered her up. Now it seemed that she might have long hooked up with Li Sicheng.

It was foolish of her to put them in the most significant place in her heart after being cheated on for so long.

‘I’m so stupid!’

Actually, she could handle it without You Ze’s help.

Their marriage was a mere formality. She couldn’t afford it if she owed him too much.

Anyway, the minute she saw You Ze, tears came out of her eyes without stopping.

He was the only one and the first one to come to her rescue when she was in trouble.

Being loved by this man would be the happiest thing in the world!
