Chapter 654
Chapter 654
This was so worrying!
While they were chatting, Cynthia was already urged by Matthew to enter the house. After changing her shoes, she looked at the two standing by the window.
Confused, Cynthia asked, “What are you doing over there?”
“Checking out my future brother–in–law.”
“checking out my future son–in–law.”
The words slipped out of their mouths, and they both reddened with embarrassment.
Jonathan coughed lightly and hurriedly explained, “Well, he treats you well and could be considered as a candidate for a future son–in–law.” NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Cynthia was at a loss for words.
As she went upstairs, she replied, “He’s just my captain.”
Then, she changed her clothes and returned downstairs.
Shirley rushed over, smiling innocently, asking, “Cynthia, did your fake–girlfriend act go smoothly today?
“Pretty well.”
“Will you do it again next time?”
No. It’s not good to keep fooling others.”
Shirley exchanged a glance with Jonathan
Jonathan thought it was time to educate Cynthia as he did not want her to be so naive in matters of love.
“Cyn.”
“Yes?”
“There’s something I want to talk to you about. Are you free now?
“Go ahead.”
“I think Captain likes you. You know, in a romantle way,” Jonathan said.
Cynthia was surprised.
Did Jonathan ever meet Matthew?
Jonathan seemed to have figured out what Cynthia was thinking and continued, “Even though I haven’t met him, I can tell from his action of asking you to pretend as his girlfriend that he likes you.”
“You’re overthinking it,” Cynthia responded calmly,
Jonathan felt hurt by her response. “Don’t you trust me?‘
“Nowadays, many young people ask others to pretend as their partners; some even pay for it. Times have changed, and it’s different from the past. Please don’t read too muchs into it,” Cynthia explained.
Jonathan was taken aback! He could not believe Cynthia was indirectly saying he was old!
Curious, he asked, “Why do you think it’s different now?”
“In your time, most people, even if they liked someure, would hesitate to confess directly due to embarrassment, but things. are different now. If someone truly likes another persons, they would confess directly without neeiling sach pretense to get. closer,” Cynthila spoke like an expert on the matter.
Besides, her relationship with Matthew did not require any pretense; they could talk about anything openly.
“If you like someone, would you confess directly?” Jonathan asked further.
Cynthia answered straightforwardly, “Yes.”
“Aren’t you afraid that you won’t even be able to be friends anymore if the person doesn’t feel the same way?” Shirley joined in, curious.
Cynthia was genuinely puzzled. “Why wouldn’t we be friends anymore?”
Shirley and Jonathan were speechless.
They truly believed Joshua had been incredibly lucky. Even after going through a marriage, Cynthia’s approach to love still seemed so innocent, Joshua might never win her over if they had the required feelings to get together.
“If you genuinely like someone, you might be a bit cautious. Without confessing, you fear missing the opportunity, but if you confess, you worry that after failure, you won’t even remain friends, and you’ll eventually drift apart,” Shirley explained seriously.
Cynthia frowned, finding it all rather complicated. In her view, you would confess if you had feelings for someone. If it did not work out, you would move forward, and it was no big deal.
