Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time

Divorce Long 218

The Next Day

Harry and Rex arrived at Cole at the same time.

Rex greeted him, “Mr. Becker, what a coincidence?noveldrama

Harry responded, “Quite a coincidence.”

Rex was about to speak when he saw Maggie and Johnny coming out to greet him and Harry.

Yesterday, Maggie had quickly gotten out of Franklin’s car.

What exactly she had said to Franklin afterward, Rex wasn’t sure.

But it couldn’t be denied that, whether at last year’s year–end banquet or yesterday’s events, it seemed like Franklin was always the one taking the initiative toward Maggie.

Maggie, on the other hand, seemed somewhat indifferent toward him.

Rex noticed this and found it puzzling.

Maggie was quite attractive, and while he could understand other men’s attraction to her, Franklin wasn’t just anyone.

Apart from looks, there was no comparison between Maggie and Julia.

Rex didn’t understand why Franklin, after getting involved with Julia, would still be interested in Maggie.

Maggie noticed the cold and somewhat disgusted look Rex shot her.

She replied coldly, “Mr. Hardin, do you have something to say to me?

“Miss Miller, you’re overthinking,” Rex said coldly. “I thought we had nothing to discuss.”

Both Johnny and Harry had watched the news of the meeting.

They both knew that Rex and Maggie had met yesterday.

Johnny, hearing this, guessed that something unpleasant must have happened between them at the

meeting.

He smiled without reaching his eyes and looked at Rex. “Oh? What happened?”

Maggie didn’t want to waste time, so before Rex could speak, she answered first, “Nothing.”

Then, she turned to Harry and said, “Mr. Becker, please follow me.”

Harry nodded, glanced at Rex, and followed Maggie into the meeting room.

Although Maggie and Johnny didn’t explicitly state it, Johnny knew that their disagreement must have

something to do with Julia.

But since Maggie didn’t speak, he didn’t press the matter. He coldly said to Rex, “Mr. Hardin, please.”

After the New Year’s Eve, this was the first time Harry had seen Maggie again.

When he saw her earlier, his gaze had practically stayed on her.

But, due to the tension between Maggie and Rex, the three of them hadn’t noticed it.

Once inside the meeting room, Harry looked away and, as he sat down, said, “I had planned to attend yesterday’s meeting, but I had to leave for a business trip and couldn’t make it. I had someone else attend

in my place.”

It was common for clients to chat a little before getting to the main topic.

Maggie didn’t think much of it.

She said, “I see.”

Noticing that Maggie hadn’t picked up on his intentions, Harry lowered his gaze and changed the subject

to business.

Harry had social engagements that evening, so after discussing business, he was ready to leave.

Seeing Harry looking at her, Maggie raised her head. “What’s wrong?”

Tomorrow was Valentine’s Day.

But Harry didn’t mention it. He shook his head. “Nothing.”

Maggie was so focused on work that she had completely forgotten about Valentine’s Day.

It wasn’t until the next day when she arrived at the office and the people there greeted her with a cheerful “Happy Valentine’s Day” that she suddenly realized what day it was.

Just as she was about to head into her office, a voice called out from the entrance, “Excuse me, is Miss Miller here? Someone has ordered flowers for you. Could you please come out and sign for them?”

Maggie turned back, and saw a delivery man holding a large bouquet of red roses standing outside the

door.

The delivery man’s words, along with the extravagant bouquet of roses, immediately drew the attention of everyone around.

There had been rumors that Maggie and Johnny were romantically involved, but in fact, many people in the company knew that Maggie was already married.

However, Maggie rarely mentioned her personal life, so most of them were unaware of the details of her marriage.

When they saw someone sending her flowers on Valentine’s Day, some colleagues couldn’t help but remark enviously,

“What a huge bouquet of roses! Is this from your husband? He must be really sweet.”

“Yeah, I’m so envious!”

Maggie thought to herself, How could Franklin possibly send me flowers? But she didn’t voice her

thoughts.

The card had indeed listed her contact information, which meant the flowers weren’t delivered to the

wrong person.

The delivery man, once he confirmed she was Maggie, handed her the bouquet and said, “Please sign

here.”

Not wanting to make things difficult for the delivery man, Maggie signed for the flowers.

Holding the bouquet, she returned to her office.

She opened the elegant card and glanced at it, only to find that the sender hadn’t left a name, simply writing “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

At that moment, Johnny pushed the door open and saw the red roses on the coffee table. He raised an eyebrow and asked, “Who sent these?”

Maggie shook her head. “I don’t know, but the handwriting looks somewhat familiar.”

Johnny chuckled. “Looks like someone has a crush on you. Can you guess who it is?”

Maggie shook her head. “I have no idea.”

Johnny stroked his chin thoughtfully.

He and Maggie had been inseparable for so long, yet he had never noticed anyone secretly harboring feelings for her.

After thinking about it, Johnny sneered slightly. Though he didn’t believe it was possible, he still said, “It shouldn’t be… Franklin, right?”

Maggie replied indifferently, “It’s not him.”

She and Franklin had been married for many years. He had never once celebrated Valentine’s Day with her, so how could he possibly send her roses just before their divorce?

Besides, she could still recognize his handwriting.

“… Alright,” Johnny said, then added, “Regardless, if the words on the card were written specifically for you, that means the person must have you in mind. Moreover, they sent the most expensive kind of

roses.”

Perhaps.

But Maggie didn’t really care about the matter.

Her mind was completely occupied with other things.

Whoever had sent the flowers didn’t leave any contact information or a name, and she couldn’t be bothered to think about it. She simply said, “Let’s focus on work.”

She had something important to do today–she was scheduled to visit Wilson Tech, an arrangement made a few days ago.

She organized her materials and, once it was almost time, left with a few colleagues for the Wilson Tech

office.
