Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 923

Everett cranked the ignition and cast a quick glance at her. She was sprawled out like a stray dog, as if waiting for someone to give her a hand. The sight made his stomach churn. He wanted nothing more than to floor the gas pedal and get the hell out of there. Dark thoughts crept back into his mind. The fantasy of running Victoria over with his car, sending her straight to hell, played on a loop. Everett's brow furrowed with irritation as he tuned into the car radio.

The news buzzed with Max's predicament-word was, he was on the brink of jail time. Everett snorted at the thought, hoping it was true. Of all the Dorseys, Max was the one who seemed untouchable, like he belonged on some pedestal. Everett didn't run into Max often, but whenever he did, the man left him in awe-whether it was Max's cunning or his looks.

Everett often wondered what stroke of luck had graced the Dorseys to end up with an heir like Max. And now, to think the Dorseys wanted to destroy Max themselves-it was just plain stupidity.

Gripping the steering wheel tight, Everett mused that without Max, the Dorsey empire would crumble in no time. The prospect of witnessing their downfall brought a twisted smile to his face. It felt like the cage that had trapped him for years was finally starting to break apart. He didn't fully grasp the extent of Max's power, but he knew the man wasn't one to sit idly by. The end of the Dorseys was probably nigh.

With a cold laugh, Everett spared one more glance at the woman still lying on the ground, disgust churning in his gut, and quickly drove away. As Everett approached the gate, he coincidentally ran into Tiffanie returning home. With the car window rolled down, his vehicle came to a stop right beside her. Everett was surprised; Tiffanie looked unusually innocent tonight. But remembering the rumors linking her with various male celebrities, he felt the bile rise once more.

Unfazed by his hostility, Tiffanie bent over with a smile. "Everett, what a coincidence."

His face darkened instantly. "Beat it."

"Do you really dislike me that much, Everett?"

"What do you think? You're as vile as your mother!"

After his harsh words, he rolled up the window. Tiffanie stood there, feeling the car graze past her. Everett probably wanted to run her and Victoria over, to erase the shame they represented to him. But he didn't dare. He only dared to loathe her.

Standing her ground, Tiffanie watched the house and chuckled softly. Her phone buzzed at that moment-it was a message from Mason. She had blacklisted Mason before, but recently, she had let him back in.This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

Everett hated her, despised her, and enjoyed watching her suffer under Victoria's thumb, finding perverse joy in her misery. But what could she do when his only son seemed to fancy her?

Tiffanie looked at the stream of messages on her phone. Mason was asking why she wasn't replying, if she intended to deny that night they had shared. She blinked, sighing softly. She still didn't reply, knowing Mason was busy with the company issues involving Brielle and wouldn't be back in the country anytime soon, meaning he wouldn't come looking for her personally.

She hoped that, in time, he would let go of his infatuation. After all, from their very first encounter, she knew he was Everett's son. Clinging to him had been out of spite, unwilling to suffer in hell alone. She wanted to drag him down too-this clean, earnest man.

The beast within her was growing restless, and¶f Mason continued his unwavering affection, she would lead him by the hand to the Dorseys, right to Everett's doorstep. Let Everett himself discover that his perfect son had already been tangled in her sheets.
