Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 920

Brielle was blissfully unaware of the conversations happening around her. Even in her dreams, she felt a cozy warmth that made her lips curl into a gentle smile. Max noticed her peaceful expression and couldn't help but chuckle softly.

Outside the door, Patrick knocked quietly. "Boss, the takeover of Dorsey International is in motion. In about two days, the Dorseys will start to sense something's off, and by next Tuesday at the latest, the deal will be done."

Patrick's voice was low, careful not to wake Brielle. Max didn't care about the acquisition; he wasn't interested in the Dorsey assets. His sole aim was to strip Michael of everything, to leave him in a state where living was unbearable, and death was not an escape. Michael had to pay for what he did to Brielle.

"Got it," Max replied as he got up, leaving the room and gently closing the door behind him. "What about Brodie?"

"Michael's got him under close watch. Probably worried he might help you out," Patrick said, a mocking smirk playing on his lips.

Brodie was a pharmacist and could only aid Max with medical matters. But Max had abandoned their long-planned scheme to be with Brielle, putting their years of plotting on hold. With the plan shelved, Brodie's role in Max's future actions was essentially redundant. But unlike Michael, Max wasn't the type to discard people when they were no longer useful. He remembered how Brodie had lost his legs because of him, going from a golden boy to a shadow of his former self. To Max, Brodie's continued existence was help enough. It was a pity Michael never understood that.

Ignoring Patrick's sarcasm, Max asked about someone else. "What's Victoria up to?"

His so-called sister had never been a problem and had shown genuine concern over the years. But Max had always been distant, providing only material support. Now that he was no longer the heir to the Dorsey fortune, he suspected Victoria's life would get tougher.

Patrick's scorn deepened at the

mention of Victoria. "Michael's made

the old agreement public, and Dorsey International has released. court documents. Everyone thinks you're going to jail this time, even Miss Howe believes it. So, she's busy sucking up to Michael, shadowing him constantly. In her spare time, she's all over Everett."

Max had always given Victoria everything she wanted materially. When he was CEO, she had done everything she could to get rid of Brielle, wishing she would just leave Beaconsfield. But now that Max was out of the Dorsey family, Victoria's true colors showed no calls, no messages, eager to cut ties and drop the act.

This didn't bother Max; his time with the Dorseys had taught him their true nature long ago. He let out a quiet laugh and was about to comment when he heard the door to the living room open.

As he went downstairs, he saw Tiffanie had arrived. She was usually all bold makeup, tattoos, piercings, and even a tongue stud-someone you wouldn't want to mess with. But today, she looked surprisingly subdued.

"Maxie," she called out, her eyes red as she sat down beside him. Max had treated Tiffanie the same as Victoria, fulfilling her material desires. He had never wronged the mother and daughter.

"Maxie, here's everything you've ever

park shares, the sports car," she said, her face showing no regret as she handed over all the property deeds, followed by her credit card. "I've always been a big spender, so my cash is nearly gone, but here are the assets. And this card it's the thirty million you gave me last year. I forgot about the card and never used it, so the money's still there."

Max raised an eyebrow and sat down across from her. "What's all this about? Trying to draw a line?"

Even Patrick frowned in disapproval from the side. If Tiffanie was doing this too, it would be really disheartening.

"No, it's not that. I just think you

could really use this money right now, Maxie, it's not much, but it might help. Gramps really wants behind bars. I've heard all your

sobbing, her eyes swelling with grief.

It seemed there was still some heart left in the Dorsey lineage after all.
