Chapter 26 An Unwelcome Visitor
Alicia was in a good mood as she watched Edmond's expression darken. She clasped her hand around her chest and raised her chin triumphantly before stating, "That's right. I'm very popular."
From the corner of his eyes, Edmond saw the price tag was still attached to the pajamas. A dark gleam flashed across his eyes, and his grim expression suddenly changed back to his usual indifferent look.
"Will that man be jealous if he knew I had worn his clothes?" Edmond teased. NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
"The men I found won't fuss over such small matters. Don't worry." Alicia replied.
She had no idea Edmond had noticed the loophole on the pajamas as she continued spouting nonsense.
Alicia purposely brought several sets of men's pajamas to place in her closet to create the false impression that she often had men sleeping over at her house.
In the end, Edmond did not expose her.
The doorbell rang right after he had gotten changed.
Somehow Edmond decided to open the door personally when he heard it ring.
Eli was surprised when he saw Edmond open the door.
Meanwhile, Edmond was eyeing Eli with disdain.
"The standard of the cuckold is just so mediocre," Edmond commented sarcastically.
Alicia noticed that Eli's gaze had lingered on Edmond for a long while, and there seemed to be a few hints of admiration. She quickly walked over and pulled Edmond away.
However, to Edmond, Alicia's action was more like she was worried that he would do something terrible to Eli.
His amorous eyes darkened slightly.
Alicia hurriedly shielded Edmond behind her and asked Eli, "What brings you here?"
"The neighborhood is closed, and I guess you might have caught a cold from the rain yesterday. Thus, I brought you some porridge and medicine." Eli explained.
However, Edmond's voice rang out behind Alicia.
"Thanks, but we don't need that now. Please leave."
Alicia turned around and glared at him.
"Stop spouting nonsense. There are no ingredients in the house for us to make breakfast." Alicia rebutted.
Then she invited Eli into the house before walking away.
Alicia consumed a little of the porridge in the thermos bottle yesterday while Edmond ate the remaining, so nothing was left at home.
Currently, in Alicia's eyes, Eli was just a food delivery boy.
It was free and delivered to her doorstep.
Moreover, she could use Eli to piss Edmond off and was happy to see him suffer.
The most frivolous and flirtatious wealthy second-generation in Arnoford City was forced to sit face- to-face with his so-called cuckold person for breakfast.
It was a very pleasing scene for Alicia.
Edmond tried to start the conversation and asked, "I saw the news, so you are the Eli Preston."
"I introduced myself to you the last time," Eli said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't really follow the news on the entertainment industry, but I do date a few actresses." Edmond continued.
"Yes, so I've heard," Eli commented.
Edmond refused to back down and continued probing, "How come you didn't catch any cold yesterday when it was so windy?"
"I have a very healthy body," Eli answered.
"Oh, I see." Edmond was baffled.
Alicia tried to stop herself from spewing out the porridge as she listened to their conversation.
"Help! It's so difficult to hold back my laughter." Alice thought silently.
Soon she realized that she got too happy too soon.
Alicia could not laugh anymore when she saw Peter's message that he wanted to meet her,
It seemed like the news of her scandal had reached the ears of her in-laws, and they wanted her to give them an explanation personally.
Seeing that the rain had stopped outside, Alicia told them, "I'm changing my clothes and going out, so make yourselves at home."
Therefore, the two men were left staring at each other.
However, Edmond was the first to start the question.
"What were you both doing at the beach?"
Eli faked the seriousness and answered, "Just like what you've seen."
"Those photos are too fake, and your positioning isn't professional enough." Edmond refuted.
"It's enough that someone believes it will do," Eli replied and shrugged.
"What do you like about her?" Edmond asked again.
"She likes everything about me." Eli countered.
Edmond snorted, wrapped his hands around his chest, and stated in a somewhat icy tone, "You sure are confident."
Eli suddenly changed his gaze and stared at him more seriously before asking, "Then do you like her?"
Edmond's brows furrowed, and his gaze became more intense.
Eli continued to ask him before he could reply.
"She met you yesterday morning, didn't she?"
"It's none of your business," Edmond snapped at him.
"When I saw her downstairs, she was holding the thermos in her hand, and her whole expression was so tense that it looked like she was on the verge of tears but holding it back with her will," Eli further described the scene.
Edmond's gaze flickered as he recalled that someone from the hospital told him yesterday that a red-dressed beauty had come to look for him. However, he only had a rough guess back then and could not confirm it until now.
Eli had a rough idea about the incident from Edmond's expression, so he smirked and mocked him.
"So I told her that she ticked all the boxes and many men would fall for her easily. Thus, she did not need to hang on to a guy like you."
