Chapter 12 Getting Into the Car
Alicia walked away in her high heels with a winning posture.
Diane was so angry that she almost cried and quickly covered her chest with her hands. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
She thought Edmond would say something to comfort her. But when she turned her head to look at him, she saw that his eyes were focused on the rearview mirror, watching Alicia's figure as she drove away.
She called out pitifully, "Ed... Why aren't you saying anything?"
Edmond snapped out of his thoughts, started the car, and casually greeted her.
"How was your first day?"
Seeing that he was concerned about her, Diane happily replied, "It was okay. They evaluated me today and said my overall score was pretty good. I majored in violin in college, and they said they want to groom me as a talented musician. It's just that I need to improve my dancing."
Edmond's gaze remained calm as he turned the wheel, smiled faintly, and said casually, "Hmm, not bad."
Speaking of dancing, a memory flashed through his mind - Alicia spun down the pole gracefully that day in a red dress.
She was like a beautiful rose.
Arrogant and conceited, yet captivating.
"Ed, I heard some not-so-good rumors about Casey at the office today. I don't know if I should tell you..." Diane spoke in a hesitant manner.
Edmond nonchalantly reminded her, "She is my wife. So you should be careful how you refer to her."
Hearing this, she pursed her lips and asked cautiously with a tense expression, "Ed, do you remember what happened the summer of your sophomore year?"
A dark glint flickered in his eyes, but it was quickly hidden.
Then he asked in an indifferent tone, "What do you want to say?"
"Today at the office, I heard a lot of rumors that you and Uncle Peter..." Diane paused deliberately and looked at Edmond.
His profile was clear and his features sharp. But he didn't seem angry. So Diane felt relieved and continued.
"In your sophomore year in college, both you and I saw Alicia leaving your dad's room in a disheveled state. Now everyone in the office says she was having an affair with your father... Ed, I didn't expect her to be like this. She's so shameless. You can't be fooled by her. Maybe she married you just to have an excuse and status to get close to your father..."
With a screeching sound of the tires rubbing against the ground, Diane experienced a sudden braking force that thrust her forward, causing her hair to fly up.
After regaining her senses, she turned her disheveled head in disbelief to look at Edmond, whose expression remained calm as before. But the coldness in his eyes sent a shiver down her spine.
"Get out of the car."
There was no fluctuation in his tone, which chilled the surrounding air.
Trembling, Diane asked, "Did I say something wrong, Ed?"
"Get the f*ck out!"
This time, he almost shouted.
Diane had never seen Edmond so angry. Before, he had just had a carefree and charming expression, but now he seemed like a demon.
Terrified, Diane pushed open the car door and fled.
...
After Alicia returned to her apartment, she took a shower and changed her clothes. Then she went straight to bed without eating anything.
Not knowing how long she had slept, in a daze, she seemed to feel a figure pressing down on her and kissing her neck and collarbone.
She immediately opened her eyes and tried to push the person away. But her wrist was held tightly.
As her eyes adjusted, she saw the person in front of her. Then anger surged through her.
"How did you get in here? Get out!"
Edmond reeked of alcohol. His hazy, charming eyes were filled with desire and emotion, and two buttons on his shirt were undone.
He held her hand and led her to slip into his shirt, with a charming, alluring smile on his face.
"Would you like to do something with me now?"
