Chapter 3517 Obliterator
Night had fallen over the Veiled Assembly's docks. Matthew stood silently at the edge of the pier, his white attire billowing in the sea breeze. The faint metallic scent of blood, lingering from the executions earlier that evening, was gradually dissipating. The entire island had been steeped in that oppressive smell for hours, and only now was it starting to clear.
"Your methods are ruthless-so many people, executed without hesitation," a mocking voice suddenly broke the silence.
A young man in green strolled over, a jade bottle in hand, tipping it back to gulp wine. The scent of alcohol clung heavily to him.
Lenny followed closely behind, giving Matthew a subtle nod of acknowledgment. Since their last
encounter, his perception of Matthew had shifted. He now believed Matthew would eventually work under his master's command and had adjusted his attitude accordingly.
"Sometimes, if you don't act decisively, people start thinking you're soft and easily trampled," Matthew replied plainly, his gaze steady on the young man.
The young man smirked. "I like how you handle things, Matteo-calm, composed, no matter the situation." He gave Matthew a nod of approval before glancing impatiently at Lenny. "Where's the ship? Why isn't it here yet?"
"It'll be here any moment, sir," Lenny replied.
True to his word, a medium-sized ship soon appeared on the horizon, gradually pulling into the dock. "Come on, Matteo. Tonight, I'll show you one of the West Montiria Islands' specialties," the young man said with an ambiguous smile before boarding the ship. Lenny followed closely, his posture deferential. On the deck, the young man leaned against the railing, exuding a relaxed air.
"By the way, Matteo, have I introduced myself yet?" he asked, turning to Matthew.
Matthew shook his head. The young man hadn't offered his name, and Matthew hadn't asked.
"I'm Garrett Zurcher. Feel free to use my name-after all, you're not my subordinate... yet," Garrett said,
his expression twisting into a manic grin as he burst into laughter.
Lenny approached Garrett cautiously, leaning in to whisper something in his ear.
"A small school of sharks? Perfect. Let's test our newest weapon," Garrett declared, his eyes gleaming. Newest weapon?
Lenny's face paled, and he hesitated. "Sir, isn't using that weapon a bit... excessive?"
Garrett's gaze turned icy, his voice sharp. "Do you know who's in charge here? A dog needs to obey its aster. Disobedient dogs don't live
Lenny broke into a cold sweat, bowing before scurrying off. Moments later, he returned, carrying a shell- like device in his arms.noveldrama
"Matteo, watch closely. This is our latest creation," Garrett said, his tone almost gleeful.
With visible hesitation, Lenny pressed a button on the shell and tossed it into the water. The sea lit up with a crimson glow, enveloping the surrounding sharks in a fiery hue. Within seconds, the sharks, once teeming with life, flipped belly-up and floated lifelessly to the surface.
Matthew's brow furrowed slightly. This is... biochemical weapon?!
"What do you think, Matteo? Terrifying, isn't it?" Garrett said with a manic grin, his voice loud and filled with pride.
"It's certainly terrifying."
"Of course it is! Do you know how
much I paid for a single Obliterator
shell? A full one million Dornia. Emerald!" Garrett exclaimed,
practically giddy with excitement.
