Chapter 13 Like a Grand Canyon
Chapter 13 Like a Grand Canyon
There was a gentle knock on the door.
Eva had just taken a bath and put on a face sheet. She was a little hesitant when she heard the knock.
She didn't order takeout, so who was it?
"Who is it?" Eva asked loudly and unlocked the security door.
"Mr. Livingstone!" Eva opened her mouth in surprise and said in a loud voice. She was so shocked that
even her face sheet mask was about to wrinkle!
Caleb and William looked at Eva's black face and remained silent for a long time.
A few seconds later, Eva realized why they looked at her this way and quickly took off the face sheet,
revealing her watery little face.
After confirming that it was Eva, William stretched out his hand to ask Eva to hug him. He didn't want to
stay in Caleb's arms for another minute.
"Mr. Livingstone, it's so late. What brings you here?" Eva asked as she took over William.
"He wants to see you." Caleb entered Eva's apartment and looked around it at will.
Although this apartment was much smaller than the Sommers family's villa, it is well furnished. The
furniture and lamps were light brown, and the wooden floor was covered with a layer of fluffy carpet. As
the breeze blew over, the potted plants on the balcony will send a fragrance into the room.
Eva looked at Caleb and William with a puzzled face. "We have just said goodbye in the afternoon."
William blinked his cute eyes and looked at Eva pitifully. He looked as aggrieved as a frightened deer,
so Eva couldn't ask anything else.
"Well, Baby, my face sheet is torn off. It's very expensive."
William pointed to Caleb.
"I'll tell Luke to bring you some tomorrow. What is its brand?" Caleb said at once.
Eva hurriedly refused, "No, thanks."
Eva just wanted to complain. She didn't dare to use the face sheets given by Caleb for fear that Caleb
would poison them in advance.
"Mr. Livingstone, which do you want, tea or coffee?" Eva pretended to be polite.
"Sparkling water."
Eva put William next to the sofa Caleb was sitting on and said, "Baby, please wait for me here. I got to
pour some water for your dad."
After Eva poured a glass of soda water for Caleb, she sat tremblingly on the sofa to tease William, not
even daring to look at Caleb, mainly because Caleb looked too domineering.
"Mr. Livingstone, what are you doing here?" After gathering up her courage, Eva finally asked.
However, Caleb cosseted William, William shouldn't have asked Caleb to visit Eva at night. What was
more, why was William so attached to Eva? Did William regard her as his mother? Eva still
remembered what Caleb said yesterday morning. She was astonished and lost for words back then.
Besides, Caleb was wearing a long face on her petite sofa, and even the mood around was subdued.
What if Caleb forced her to marry him?
"Miss Sommers, have you made a decision?" Caleb asked.
"What do you mean? I don't understand." Eva pretended to know nothing about his eyes.
Caleb raised his eyes and stared at Eva quietly.
Within thirty seconds, Eva turned cowardly. "Well, I remember." Eva explained with a smile, "Mr.
Livingstone, you are the president of a big company while I am just an unknown actress, so I am not
worthy of you. Moreover, you can't marry me for the sake of Liam. I can't afford such an honor."
"I don't think so," Caleb said in a low, husky, and alluring voice.
Eva tried her best not to be tempted!
"But look at you, high-status man! It's like a Grand Canyon lying between you and me!"
"The Sommers family is not so rich as the Livingstone family, but it doesn't matter," Caleb said.
"But..." Eva wanted to retort, but she couldn't say anything under Caleb's oppressive gaze.
William couldn't understand what they were talking about. Moreover, he was exhausted, so he almost
fell asleep in Eva's arms.
"Mr. Livingstone, I can't get married to you. Liam is going to sleep, so can you..." Eva gathered up her
courage and tried to ask Caleb out!
"Have you made a decision, Miss Sommers?" Caleb raised his eyebrows.
Seeing this, Eva got a little frightened and said weakly, "I'm not sure. I'll think about it."
Hearing this, Caleb looked away.
However, strangely, as soon as Caleb went to hug William, William woke up and started crying. This
time, even Eva couldn't calm him down.
"Well, Liam can live here tonight. I have nothing to do tomorrow, so I can look after him." William kept
crying, so Eva softened. She didn't want to see him cry.
"Thank you." Caleb agreed.
"It's very late. Mr. Livingstone, you'd better go back," Eva said bravely.
Hearing this, William got upset. He held Eva with one hand and Caleb with the other.
"Miss Sommers, do you have a guest room here?" Caleb pinched between his brows and thought he
had no choice but to compromise.
Eva shook her head. "No, I have only one bedroom with one bed."
"Then you can rest with Liam in the bedroom. I'll sleep in the living room," Caleb ordered.
"Mr. Livingstone, this is my home..."
Eva thought to herself, but she didn't dare to say this. Instead, she said, "I don't think it's a good idea."
"Miss Sommers, how about going back with me?"
"No, I'll bring the quilt for you." Eva immediately refused and glanced at her small two-seater sofa.
Caleb was nearly 6 feet 2, so the sofa was probably too small for him to sleep.
William was very happy when he knew that he and Caleb could stay here tonight, even if Caleb had to
sleep on the sofa.
Eva came out with a quilt in her arms. Looking at Caleb, who was sitting on the sofa with his eyes © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
closed, she said, "Why don't you go to the bedroom? I'll sleep on the sofa."
"No." Caleb glanced at Eva with a deep look. His eyes were full of emotions, but Eva couldn't
understand what he meant.
Now that Caleb refused, Eva shrugged and turned around.
Before Eva entered the bedroom, Caleb said, "Miss Sommers, you should know what is best for you.
I'm looking forward to your answer."
