Love's Redemption

Redmption 44

Redmption 44

Major? How major? I didn’t panic and asked her directly, “Calm down. What’s going on?”

Kara explained the issue. The lighting didn’t match the design plans at all.

With

could either be a quality problem the manufacturer’s lights or an

installation issue.

“Since you know these two possible causes, just find the relevant people to solve it. Even if I go back, that’s what I’d do,” I said calmly.

“Ms. Crown, please come back. I really can’t handle it alone.

“I don’t know what’s gotten into Mr. Gildon. He’s been coming to the

amusement park every day. And every time he comes, there are tons of issues. I’m about to lose my mind.” Kara sounded as if she was gonna cry.

I thought about the message Chris sent me. What if he was deliberately creating problems to make things difficult for Kara? That way it would force

me to return.

After so many years, he knew me well enough. He knew that I was soft–hearted and disliked causing trouble for others.

“You should try handling it first.” I still didn’t agree to go back.

It wasn’t that I was being heartless this time, letting Kara suffer. I wanted to train her. A person could only progress and improve by continuous learning and taking on responsibilities.

I had plans to resign, giving her a chance for promotion. She needed to have the capability to handle it.

“Ms. Crown, I really can’t handle it right now. The problem is huge. You know that the lighting is the soul of the amusement park.” Kara continued to persuade me.

I pondered for a few seconds. “Send me a report on the problem. Connect with me on–site via video call. It would be best at night when all the lights are on. I’ll assess the situation before deciding.”

Kara sensed that I really didn’t want to go back. She added, “Ms. Crown, I know

you don’t want to face Mr. Gildon right now. If it weren’t absolutely necessary, 1 wouldn’t ask you to come back.”

She paused before continuing, “I support you.” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Her words warmed my heart, though tinged with sadness.

“Follow my instructions first,” I said and hung up the phone. I then opened my email to check the amusement park’s lighting design and effect diagrams.

That evening, Kara’s video call came in. “Ms. Crown, I’m at the site. All the lights are on. How do you want to check it?”

I looked at the partial lighting visible in the video. “Go to the highest point of the amusement park. I want to see the overall effects first. Then, take aerial shots of each amusement park area’s lighting, especially the problematic spots.”

“Okay. Give me a second…” Kara said. The video began to shake as she ran, accompanied by the sound of her panting.

But after a few steps, she suddenly stopped. And I heard her exclaim, “Mr. Gildon, why are you here too?”

“Why are you running?” Chris‘ familiar cold voice came through.

My grip on my phone tightened, and my heart raced. Even though my heart had been shattered by her, a decade of affection couldn’t be undone in a day.

Even just Chris‘ voice had the power to move me.

I wondered what Chris would say if Kara mentioned that she was talking to me. Would he take the phone and speak to me?

“I… I’m finding a high spot to shoot a video,” Kara replied to Chirs.

Chris didn’t speak for a while, then he nodded and walked away.

“Ms. Crown, I didn’t say it was you. I was afraid Mr. Gildon would want to talk to you. You probably don’t want to speak to him, right?” Kara asked considerately.

I sneered. “You handled it very well.”

She chuckled. “I knew that’s what you wanted. I’d feel the same way.” Kara continued running and then got onto the Ferris wheel.
