Chapter 8 Meeting At The Police Station
Chapter 8 Meeting At The Police Station
As soon as Stella saw Oliver, she shut her mouth and dared not say a word. She pursed her lips,
glanced at Oliver, and then stole a glance at Charlotte.
Charlotte was extremely nervous now, and every little thing could attract her absolute attention, so she
naturally sensed Stella's reaction.
"What are you looking so guilty about?" Charlotte suddenly turned her head away from the policeman Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
and stared at Stella.
The policemen's attention was all attracted by Oliver and none of them had noticed what was
happening between Charlotte and Stella.
Stella screamed and ran to Emmett to hide behind him. "What's wrong with you! I'm not looking guilty!"
"You'd better answer my question honestly." Charlotte's face darkened.
Stella knew what would happen if she didn't answer her question. In a panic, she said, "Why do you
ask me? I didn't do it! I didn't sell the company!"
"The company?" Although Charlotte had already known the answer, she still asked.
Stella gritted her teeth and kept silent.
Emmett also gritted his teeth and gave Stella a reproachful look.
"She will know it sooner or later..." Stella muttered in a low voice, glancing at Emmett. Then she turned
to Charlotte again and finally said, "Don't you know? The Shao Group has been merged with the Shen
Group. Now he is your creditor."
She glanced at Oliver with complacency in her eyes.
Everyone knew Oliver's temper. No matter how tough Charlotte was, she wouldn't be able to get
anything out of Oliver.
Charlotte was slightly shocked and looked up at Oliver.
But Oliver didn't look at her. Instead, he turned to his assistant and gave him a hint. The assistant
immediately understood what he meant and walked to Emmett.
Charlotte looked at the assistant's action in confusion. He just whispered in Emmett's ear, and
Emmett's face gradually turned pale. He looked at Oliver with fear and then lowered his head.
"It's up to you, Mr. Emmett," the assistant finished the sentence and went back to Oliver.
Oliver walked towards Charlotte and stood in front of her.
Charlotte froze and looked up. She didn't understand what Oliver meant. But it seemed that... he was
trying to defend her? There were so many people here, and he chose to stand by her side. Even if he
didn't mean to protect her, it was like that in the eyes of others, wasn't it?
Emmett suddenly stood up and walked towards Charlotte under the gaze of the crowd.
"Emmett..." Stella, who immediately felt insecure when Emmett left her side, didn't know what Emmett
was going to do. She called his name, but Emmett ignored her.
He walked directly to Charlotte, lowered his head and said, "Charlotte, I'm sorry for what happened
today. It's all my fault. I have reflected on my mistakes. Please let it go. Stella has been rude to you,
and I'm sorry for that too. I know you think the two of us are annoying and we'll leave right away.
Please accept my apologies. I'm so sorry." He bent down.
Charlotte opened her mouth but didn't know what to say. She looked at Emmett's serious expression
and slowly turned to Oliver.
What happened? What did Oliver ask his assistant to say? Just a second ago, Emmett had threatened
to put her in jail. But now...
"Why did you apologize to her? What are you doing? Emmett!" Stella shouted at him in confusion and
anger.
Emmett's face turned pale. He pulled Stella towards the door and said, "Let's go."
"Why are we leaving? Are you afraid?" Stella's voice was farther and farther away. "Why are you afraid
of her? Look at my face! Bastard! Can't you see what she did to me?"
Their voices grew smaller and smaller in the distance and finally disappeared.
Before Charlotte could react, all the people had left, leaving her and Oliver in the police station, being
watched by a group of police.
She moved her lips but didn't say anything. After a while, she finally came to her senses and wanted to
ask what was going on.
"Loser." Oliver suddenly said coldly, glancing at her.
Charlotte gritted her teeth and caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She was indeed in a mess.
Her hair fell on her shoulder, and there were bloodstains produced by a small wound on her eyebrows.
Her lips were pale, as if she was seriously ill.
"Yes, I'm a loser and you are a great man," Charlotte retorted. "You are noble and have never been
ground into the dirt. Your father is not dead. Your family is not destroyed. And you have never been put
on some stranger's bed! You have never been betrayed by the one you trusted most! And you haven't
caught your lover sleeping with others! And you don't know what it felt like... when someone pointed at
your nose and asked you why you didn't die with your father..."
She almost choked with sobs when she said the last sentence.
She had concealed all the anguish she suffered, but now she couldn't bear it anymore. She couldn't
help whining about her grievances in front of Oliver.
She tried her best to hold back her tears and told herself not to lose face in front of this man, but she
failed.
Oliver didn't seem to be affected by Charlotte's emotions at all. He just glanced at her coldly, opened
his mouth slightly and said, "It seemed that you can be crushed by any little things. If something
serious happens next time, are you going to kill yourself?"
"Oliver!" Charlotte suddenly raised her head and roared, trembling, "Have you been scheming for a
long time? They are all on your side, right? What a coincidence that you took over my family's
business! You have long been coveting those things, haven't you?"
"You need to know that now I not only own your family's business, but also you." Oliver smiled.
His delicate face softened because the corners of his mouth was turned up a little bit, but it still sent a
chill down Charlotte's spine. Oliver's smile quickly turned into sarcasm. "With your current identity, you
are not qualified to expect me to answer these questions."
"Then what should I do? Grovel to you and call you Mr. Oliver? Serve you like a servant?"
"Well, I'm okay with that." Oliver thought for a while and nodded.
The police station fell into silence.
The onlookers had noticed that their relationship was a little weird, but they didn't dare to say anything.
At the same time, they were wondering what exactly happened between these two people.
"No way!" Charlotte suddenly roared and stared at Oliver fiercely.
Oliver said nothing. He just turned around and pulled Charlotte towards the door.
