Chapter 584 You Must Keep It
Chapter 584 You Must Keep It
Iris had been really beautiful back in the day.
Now named Mildred, she kept looking at the image in a daze. Her face was full of tears as her hands
gripped tightly onto her knees.
Clarissa saw this from the corner of her eyes. She had no clue what Mildred had remembered, or what
the latter was sad about.
Once they got back home, Mildred sat on the couch, trapped in a daze.
Clarissa went to the kitchen to make her mother some pork chops.
When she returned to the living room with the pork chops, she saw Mildred standing at the door and
opening it for Damien.
His presence stunned Clarissa slightly.
When Damien saw her, he asked, “Not going to invite me in?”
“Come in then,” Clarissa said.
She set out the food and got ready for dinner with her mother.
Damien came in, and shot a glance at the food.
“Why are you eating this kind of food when you’re pregnant? Don’t you see how unhealthy it is?”
Damien sneered, his hands in his pockets.
“Who said I’m pregnant? I’ve just been feeling unwell recently. Besides, you’re already married, Mr.
Lawrence. Why do you care if an unrelated woman such as myself is pregnant?” Clarissa put a pork
chop onto her mother’s plate. “Do you want to eat? Oh, never mind. You already have a wife. It’s better
not to have dinner at someone else’s house.”
“You sound jealous.” Damien sat on Clarissa’s couch and made himself comfortable.
“Ah, that’s untrue. I was out at a talk with my mother. She saw some pictures of herself with my father,
so she’s not in a good mood. I’m not in a good mood either,” Clarissa said. “You think I’m upset
because of you, but you’re wrong.”
“Right, I’ve been thinking too much,” Damien said.
“That’s not true, either. Only, I have no idea whether or not I’m pregnant. Let me check,” Clarissa said.
There was a knock at the door. Clarissa got up to answer it.
The person at the door was an unexpected uninvited visitor: Frank Moore.
Clarissa was taken back, beside herself with surprise. However, she was quick to guess that he was
here for Iris.
This time, Frank wasn’t shocked by Damien’s presence. Instead, he was stunned to see Mildred having
dinner in the middle of the living room. His hands shook.
Damien, meanwhile, kept a close eye on Frank.
Clarissa also ate slower.
The only unaffected person was Mildred. She kept eating slowly and elegantly, as if nothing bothered
her. She wasn’t affected by anything, and kept eating without moving her gaze.
Frank went to sit opposite Mildred, not caring that he was crossing a line. He stared at her silently.
Mildred raised her head for a while before lowering it again to eat.
“Come over here for a second,” Damien said to Clarissa.
“What for? My mom…” Clarissa felt that it wasn’t safe to leave her mother alone with Frank.
“Come here!” Damien didn’t care about Clarissa’s objection and forcefully dragged her by the hand into
a room nearby.
After shutting the door, Damien pressed Clarissa against the door and gripped her wrists.
“Are you pregnant?” His eyes were pinned on her.
“I didn’t check.” Clarissa pretended to be weak and pitiful. ‘Didn’t you get married to spite me?’
Right now, she was filled with rage for him. Although she was acting weak, like a flower ready to wilt,
she was still a beautiful woman capable of attracting men.

It was especially tempting to someone as masculine as Damien. Clarissa knew he would fall for it.
“You must keep it!” Damien yelled, sounding determined.
This time, Damien didn’t even consider that the child might be someone else’s. Clarissa had only been
overseas for a short while. When she was in Merania, she had only been with him. Her current
condition was something recent, so he was sure that the child was his.
Clarissa bit her lower lip hard, and lowered her head dejectedly.
