Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed

Chapter 697

In the breezy gazebo, Owen Reynolds and Corley were seated on the ground, encircling Roseanne in the middle.noveldrama

Corley, with squinted eyes and a head that seemed to rest heavily on Roseanne's shoulder from Murray's angle, looked as if he was leaning on her for support.

Owen, too, had his eyes closed, maintaining a more poised posture than Corley, with one hand propping up his head, but his shoulder was snug against Roseanne.

It wasn't about taking advantage, but rather providing a pillar for the sleeping Roseanne to lean on.

So, even in slumber, they didn't let their supporting shoulders slack, maintaining the pose throughout the night.

Halfway through, Corley, feeling a pang of sympathy, suggested they switch places.

Owen Reynolds quipped, "No need, she's light as a feather."

Corley was left speechless. Owen was clearly not one to forget past grudges!

Despite all three being fully clothed and devoid of any inappropriate gestures, there was an undeniable undertone of intimacy and affection. Roseanne's fever had subsided, leaving a faint flush on her cheeks, yet she slept so peacefully...

It goes without saying, a man green with jealousy can see horns on his head in any situation.

Murray's mind went blank, as if something heavy had just crashed down on him, leaving him dazed for a moment.

The arrival of the staff and some early birds drawn by the commotion left them equally stunned.

What was this? A grand showdown?

Two men... no, judging by "Mr. Sherwood's" reaction, perhaps three men were involved?

Mamie, who had set off at the same time as Murray but lagged behind due to her bulk, barged in. Even Scales managed to overtake her, getting ahead.

Mamie, parting the crowd of onlookers, widened her eyes in disbelief at the scene. But then, considering how attractive the trio looked together, she mused it might not be so bad after all.

Realizing her thoughts were wandering, she shook her head, her worries morphing into a sprint towards Roseanne.

However, someone was quicker.

Murray, with eyes red with emotion, rushed forward, yanking the still groggy Roseanne from between the two men and pulled her into his arms. "Roseanne! Wake up! Roseanne, can you hear me?"

Corley and Owen Reynolds, who weren't in deep sleep, woke up at the sound of Murray's approaching footsteps but couldn't prevent his actions. Murray's rough handling laid bare his possessiveness.

Corley immediately stood up, reclaiming Roseanne, and snapped, "Have you lost your mind? Can't you see she's weak? After getting caught in the rain and getting injured last night, it took us a while to stabilize her temperature. If you wanna act crazy, do it somewhere else!"

Murray's gaze darkened as he retorted, "What exactly happened last night? Why were you three sleeping together?"

His interpretation of them merely sitting close turned into sleeping together, which made Corley burst out laughing, "Murray, what are you even doing? Didn't you move on, find a new girlfriend, and swear you were over the past? Your actions right now... don't seem like someone who's moved on."

Murray demanded, "Hand her over to me."

"Oh, can't keep up the act anymore? I thought you had more patience. Seems like all that talk about moving on and starting anew was just a ploy to win her back. Have you

considered how your new girlfriend feels about this?"

Corley's smirk turned towards Grace, who stood behind Murray, offering a smile more pained than if she were crying.

Owen Reynolds, ignoring the childish antics of the two men, immediately called for an ambulance upon waking.

Fortunately, the park had already dialed emergency services in advance.

The park manager, having witnessed the whole drama, internally exclaimed at the youths' antics before stepping in, "The lady's already weak, what are you arguing about? Let's get her out; the ambulance is on its way!"
