Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 973: Can I Go Home with You?

Before Tina could respond, the little girl in her arms, Poppy, was startled by the sound. She

tightened her small hands around Tina's neck, holding on tightly.

"Is there something you need?" Tina asked, her eyes fixed on him.

Kevin's expression was serious. "Thank you for saving Poppy earlier."

Tina, unwilling to waste time, held Poppy close and directly exposed Kevin's identity.

"I know everything about you. You've done very little for Claudia, and the information about the

lab was leaked by you. Considering this, I'll let you off the hook, but a thorough investigation is still necessary. Come with our people."

Kevin froze.

So she knew everything he had done.

As they walked out of the hall, Jayden approached to report. Everything was normal on Mark's end; the man seemed to have suffered some kind of shock. He wasn't speaking or responding, and they couldn't get anything out of him.

Tina narrowed her eyes. Someone who had even failed to kill Claudia wouldn't be so easily shaken by something like this.

"Take him away and keep him in solitary confinement," she ordered.

Jayden nodded and led the man away.

Once everything was arranged, Jared attempted to take Poppy from Tina's arms, but the little girl clung to her even more tightly.

"Can I go home with you? I'm scared here," Poppy said softly.

Jared was taken aback. "..."

"Alright," Tina replied without much thought.

Mark had been captured, and the remaining members of the Swanson family were either lunatics

or worse. Until Kevin returned to the Swanson family, leaving Poppy there would be like sending

a lamb into a den of wolves. Her safety couldn't be guaranteed.

As they walked out, Jared took Poppy into his arms, worried that Tina might get tired. The two of them-one big and one small-chatted quietly about something unknown. When they got into the car, Poppy suddenly asked, "Tina, can I go see Alina?"

Tina was momentarily stunned. She looked down at her. "You want to go to my mom's place?"

Poppy nodded. "Tina, you and Jared are newlyweds. I don't want to bother you. I want to stay with Alina."

Tina was speechless.

Had her uncle just been explaining this to Poppy?

Jared leaned closer and whispered, "Madam, I know you're worried about Poppy, but are you sure you can take care of a child?"

Tina was caught off guard.

Jared continued, "A five-year-old doesn't need constant care, but their needs are still different from adults'. We don't have anything prepared at home. What if we're missing something important?"

Tina glanced at Poppy.

Poppy wanted to say she wasn't that much trouble, but remembering what her brother had said earlier, she chose to remain obedient.

In the end, the car headed to the Pace family estate. When Alina learned about the situation with the Swanson family, her heart ached for Poppy. There was no way she would let the child return to such a dangerous place.

Ruud didn't ask much about the Swanson family's affairs but reminded Tina not to rush things and to prioritize her own safety.

Later, Alina and Ruud asked Tina about rescheduling the wedding.

Tina said it wasn't necessary.

She had already gone through everything a wedding entailed. Doing it all over again seemed pointless.

Jared wisely kept quiet.

Ruud glanced at Jared, his displeasure evident.

Originally, after their daughter's wedding, Ruud had planned to take Alina abroad for a honeymoon to make up for what they missed in their youth. But now, for Tina's safety, he had postponed the trip, worried that something similar might happen again when he wasn't around. At noon, Tina and Jared stayed for lunch at the Pace family estate.

At the table, Alina and Ruud doted on Poppy, one serving her food and the other helping her eat. The scene was harmonious and warm.

Warren, sitting nearby, glanced at them and silently placed a dish on Tina's plate.

The two shared an unspoken understanding. Neither mentioned what had happened earlier that morning.

The fact that Mia was actually Claudia was already clear to Warren. If Ruud were to find out at this time, he'd likely explode-not because of the emotional difficulty but because the biggest culprit had been hiding in plain sight, right under their noses, and they hadn't noticed a thing. That alone would drive Ruud, renowned for his anti-detection skills, mad.

Tina had a nagging feeling that there was still something important about Claudia's identity that she hadn't uncovered. Orion Woodwind's behavior only reinforced this. He was clearly hiding something for Claudia-something he refused to reveal, even in death.

What could compel someone to remain silent to the very end?noveldrama

Tina suddenly thought of someone-her notoriously unreliable master.

Since Orion Woodwind was part of the hidden families, the old man must know something.

After settling Poppy in, Tina and Jared headed to the Brooks family estate. They planned to check on Kiki and Mimi and get some answers from her master.

At the Brooks family estate.

Ian was just returning from Jack's side when Tina arrived. She asked about the two little ones' health.

Ian smiled warmly. "They're fine. After last night, they've been eating and sleeping well. Uncle Jack just put them down for a nap, so don't worry."

Tina nodded, scanning the courtyard. She got straight to the point. "Grandpa, is my master here?"

Ian smiled knowingly. "He's been expecting you. He's waiting in the back."

He turned to Jared with a grin. "Jared, play a game of chess with me. I'm the only one home today, and I'm quite free."

"Of course, Grandpa," Jared replied, nodding reassuringly at Tina, signaling her to go ahead.

In the backyard, Master Tam sat before a chessboard, his face twisted in frustration. Tina watched him from behind for a moment before speaking up. "Move forward, and it's a deadlock. Move back, and you lose. Stop wasting time."

Master Tam jumped in surprise. "You little brat! Can't you greet your master properly? Do you want to scare an old man to death? Don't you know people can't be startled when they're concentrating?"

Tina remained impassive. She sat down across from him, poured tea for both of them, and gave her master a cold look. "If you could be scared to death, you wouldn't have faked your death to fool me for so many years."

Master Tam was speechless. "..."

Hadn't they agreed not to bring that up again?

He took the tea she offered, grumbling as he asked, "Alright, what do you want?"

"Claudia has disappeared," Tina said.

Master Tam shrugged, unconcerned. "If she's gone, she's gone. As long as she hasn't succeeded, she'll show up again eventually."

Tina already knew that. What she needed were all the secrets surrounding Claudia. Knowing her enemy was the only way to ensure victory. "My mom said you know the origin of that special symbol-the one connected to Claudia."

Master Tam's lips twitched in annoyance. He let out a huff. "Like mother, like daughter. Do you both think I have too much free time? If I tell you, what's in it for me?"

Tina answered seriously, "When the baby's full-month celebration comes, I'll let you give a smaller gift."

Master Tam choked on his tea, nearly spitting it out. Thankfully, the chessboard was in front of him. "You have a child?"

Tina instinctively guarded her tea cup. "No, I meant in the future."

Master Tam stared at her. "..."

No wonder she was his best disciple. Her ability to make empty promises was even better than

his.

After a moment of silence, Master Tam sighed in defeat. "I do remember that symbol, but it's

been a long time. I'm not sure if it's connected to the Claudia you're talking about."
