Chapter 111
Chapter 111
Alex’s POV
I start t
to lose my mind, as I try to call Lottie again – listening to the same tone over and over until it just eventually rings out…
She’s never going to pick up… I’ve had my men hunting high and low all over town too and still nothing!
Just as I am about to call her again, an incoming call from Del comes through to my phone instead….

He’s probably heard the news that Lottie is missing from one of my men since I hadn’t actually gotten round to texting him or Jace yet – I’ve just been so flustered.
“Del?” I answer him, as I continue to drive around town on the off chance that she was out wondering the streets somewhere on her own…
“She just called me Alex… what the fuck did you do to her? She’s fucking distraught!” His voice is harsh, causing me to glare at the phone as it plays out on loud speaker around the car.
“It’s Sofia Del… she showed up at my damn office today!” 1 rage, as the line falls
s silent – as he pauses to drink in my words.
“What?! Thee Sofia?” He questions next, his tone low, as I groan out loudly.
“Yes! That one!” I I snap, stopping at a set of traffic lights for a moment or so, waiting for his next response.
“Well, so fuck Alex? Sofia just shows up and you jump right back on it? How could you just dump Lottie aside like that bro? Are you thinking straight? You were happy! Sofia made you fucking miserable when you guys dated! That was nearly three years ago too – get over it!” Del begins to rant loudly, as I open and close my mouth – unable to get a word in to defend myself
“Will you shut the fuck up and listen to me?! I didn’t fucking cheat on Lottie! She showed up in my office, and I told her that there was nothing for her here anymore. She tried to come onto me, and I told her no! I fume, not liking the fact that even one of my best friends didn’t believe me…
I could hear the disbelief in Del’s voice as he responds, “Alex, I’ve known you for years, and I’ve seen how Sofia affected you back then she had you messed up! Are you sure you’re being honest with yourself and with me? Lottie wouldn’t just run off like this if everything was fine.” He retorts, as I pull up on the side of the road, my temper rising to boiling point.
“I am being totally fucking honest here, Del, I won’t say it again! I’m not a damn kid anymore!” I yell, trying to keep my anger in check – however failing. “I love Lottie, and I would never do anything to hurt her intentionally. But Sofia showing up caught me completely off guard today. Sure, maybe I could have kicked her out of my office the second that she had walked in, but I was just in total shock – I couldn’t comprehend what was going on- she was the last person I expected to see!” I explain, as Del grows quiet- listening to me.
“Well, you certainly did do a shitty job of handling the situation if Lottie walked in and saw you both the way she did… she told me she seen you both cuddling up to one another if I remember her
words correctly so what the fuck is that all about?!” Del snaps back.
“That was right before I told her to leave my office! She tried to come onto me, twice, and I told her to quit it. She wrapped her arms around me after I turned my back on her – perfect fucking timing of course for Lottle and Anna walking in!” I run my hands down my face and groan, wanting to explode.
“You should’ve gone after Lottie the second she ran off! Just think how bad this looks, her walking in on you and your ex–girlfriend cuddling up to one another!” Del comments next, as I lean against the car window next.
“I know, I’ve messed up, but I promise on my Mom and Dad that nothing happened with Sofia! I was done with that hollow bitch the second she left. this town!” I admit, my anger slowly turning into a deep set pain.
“I should’ve handled things differently, should have reacted more quickly, but I panicked. I continue to rant- “I’ll admit, it did take me a few seconds to process, but I did go after Lottie too! She beat me to the elevator, reaching the bottom floor and got a head start running. I even searched the streets for hours to find her, and I’m still out here searching now!” I sigh heavily, feeling my heartbeat quicken.
Silence falls between us, as I steady my breathing slightly….
“Look Alex, she’s safe, but she wouldn’t tell me where she is, only that she’s safe. She doesn’t want to see you, at least not yet. Del explains, as my palms grow sweaty.

“Honest Alex, she never told me. She’s hurting had by the sounds of her though… where is Anna, could she have called her?” Del questions nex nurse myself for not having thought of calling Anna yet.
I guess deep down, I didn’t want to speak to her after what happened, she must just think the same as Lottic. It doesn’t help that Anna knew Sofla from school a few years back, and knew that we had dated briefly.
“Nah 11l give her a call… there must be something she said to you? Anything that can help me figure out where the fuck she is?” I question, my voice straining “I need to find her.”
Del sighs heavily, sounding conflicted – “All she said was that she was safe. She told me she isn’t anywhere in town too, said she needed to clear her mind.” He explains, as I nod along at his words.
This is a disaster! I just want to find her Dell I groan, starting up the car again – no idea where I am even going
“You’ll need to do more than just find her, Alex, Del warns. “You need to prove to her that you can be the man she needs and that you won’t let your past or anyone else come between you both. Don’t you have cameras in that office anyway? Can you not just prove to her that nothing happened?” Del states, as my eyes widen in sudden realisation.
Of course I have cameras in my damn office! I’d be a fool not to! Why didn’t I think of that sooner? She will see me shrugging Sofia off and turning my back on her! Nothing more, nothing less!
“That’s genius! I didn’t even think of that! I’ll get the footage emailed to my phone right away! I announce, finding h Lottle now…
hope in righting my wrongs with
“Drive over here and we can work shit out together, Jace is upstairs so I’ll let him know what’s happened. I’m surprised you didn’t call us sooner to tell us yourself bro? Del states, as I turn down onto a new road in the direction of his house, taking his advice on board.
“Yeah I know, I couldn’t think straight, I just sent all of my guys out looking for her and I’ve been driving around myself ever since… I haven’t stopped trying to call her until now either.” I admit, clearly affected by the incident.
“Give Anna a call, and find out where she’s at, or do you want me to call her?” Del asks, as I think on it for a moment.
“Maybe it’s best that you call ber… incase she’s still with Sofia… I want to stay as far away from her as I physically can.” I tell him, knowing that I would no doubt snap at her if I heard her voice again..
She’s almost ruined my damn relationship… almost… I won’t give up!
“Yeah, cool. I’ll see you when you get here, I’ll call her right now.” Del states, as I sigh heavily, turning down another road.
I thank him, hanging up, as I drive on. I then use my other hand to check whether or not Lottie had read or responded to any of my texts yet – which unfortunately, she hasn’t
I click the button to try and call her again anyhow, not wanting her to think for a moment that I had given up on trying to reach her… I care more than she will ever know…
I near Dels house, listening again as the call rings out- landing on deaf ears. Nothing.
Del said she was safe… as long as she is safe that’s all the matters… I can work with that at least… for now!
She didn’t have to make contact with anyone to tell us she was ok, so the fact she called Del mattered to me.
She was still willing to get in touch with at least someone…
I pull up outside Del’s place, clicking my belt and exiting the car phone in hand. I approach the main door, heading inside, before seeing Jace and Del coming down the staircase.
Jace looks on at me in somewhat shock, as I breathe out steadily, taking slight comfort in their presence.
“I called Anna…” Del announces, sounding awkward, as I raise a brow at him expectantly – awaiting an update.

“She’s parked up at the bus terminal, sobbing in the car. She wasnt with Sofia either when I called, she told her to get lost after you had left the of even following her outside to make sure that she had actually left too.” He continues, as myself and face follow him into the living area to take a meir

“Has she spoke with Lottie?!” I grow impatient, as Del simply shakes his head, lost for words for a moment as he thinks.
“Nah, she’s tried, but Lottie won’t answer her calls or texts either… she feels awful Alex. I told her to come over here too. Del states, as I nod at the idea
We would be stronger together… a united team to work towards finding Lottie and explaining this whole mess.
“I just can’t wrap my head around it! Sofia, of all people? After disappearing years ago without uttering another word to any of us? Just as she was getting close in this group toot Yet she comes crawling back now, when you’re happy!” face rants, as I lean back in the chair.
“It’s a no brainer why… she’s obviously heard that I’m doing well and decides she wants in on the lifestyle… I’m not the same Alex I was when I was sixteen!” I groan loudly, closing my eyes.
I open them again, watching Del shift slightly, as he looks down at the floor. “There’s one e more This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
thing…” He trails off, causing me to perk up anxiously.
“Anna said this is way worse than we even know… she wouldn’t tell me what exactly, but she said we have to find Lottie, and fast. Said that she needs as much support as she can get right now.” Del speaks, as I listen, thick worry seeping into my pores now.
1 suddenly remember the phone call with my men from the mall… informing me that Lottie had seemed upset after exiting the bathroom…
I meant to find out why, before Sofia waltzed in and fucked everything up! Dumb bitch!
“What if she needs us but doesn’t want to ask us for help? She can’t just call us and tell us that she’s safe, without giving us any other details!” I panic slightly now, as the wheels in Del’s head
seem to turn.
“Nah Alex, she told me that she still has your credit card, so she will get by with that! I already offered to send her money too if she needed it, that’s when she said she had the card.” Del explains quickly, as my brows pull together – my thoughts racing.
She has, and is still using, my credit card?
So there should be transaction history on my account of where and when she has used it?
Now we might be onto something here…
