Hint of Darkness and Light

Stupid

Verena’s POV

“Thanks for dragging me in this stupid situation.” I said in a throaty voice that wasn’t mine.

“Stupid huh?” He scraped harder with his sharp teeth, just below where he’d bitten me before, and I gasped as my body jerked. “The only stupid thing here is literally running away from one of the most powerful alpha thinking she can leave in peace.”

“I’m so stupid that I let your supporters drag me here.” My blood pounded through me in a dizzying push.

He laughed as his lips skimmed the side of my throat. “I’ll like to hear another lie.”

“I’m not lying.” I denied, wondering if he nudged my head to the side.

“Another lie Kinzhe. I can literally hear your wild heart pounding…”

He continued. “And that’s one of the things holding me from letting you go.”

“What’s holding you from freeing me from my own freedom?”

“How your eyes twinkle when I call you Kinzhe or baby.” His lips hovered over the spot where my pulse fluttered wildly.

“That’s bullshit right there.” I appealed.

“Second is how did your body reacted when I pinned you off the ground.”

“Another bullshit.”

He smiled at me, “Third is how I can smell your excitement earlier. And the lists go on.”

“That’s disturbing.”

“Wanting you when I’m not sure if you’re really my mate is more disturbing.”

“There’s something wrong with you.”

We stopped moving when multiple cracks of branches echoed.

“What was that?” I whispered.

“The Unknowns.” He clicked his jaw.

Damon hauled me against his chest without warning. Before I knew what he was even about, his mouth was on mine, stealing my breath and scattering my thoughts. The kiss was hot and raw, a clash of lips and teeth.

He lifted his mouth from mine, his eyes nearly luminous as he stared down into my wide ones. “Get back to the house. You’re safe in there.”

“What are Unknowns?” Curiosity got me.

“The soul suckers baby. Now go!”

“I’m not going.” I stood on my ground as I heard the buzzing sounds of high pitched screams. I managed to cover my ears as the screams intensify.

“Fuck that, stay by my side.” He growled.

The screams stopped. “Where are they?”

Damien appeared on our side and nudge me to stay away. I glared at him to stop.

The forest is quiet again.

“They’re everywhere.”

“Where?”

“You won’t see them unless they are wanted to be seen by you.” He said calmly eyeing the space near us.

I felt a tap in my should and when I turned my head.

A floating headless man greeted my eyes. Blood drips from where he is beheaded and his feet are chained. When I saw the chains I immediately notice his eyes are glued unti the end point of his toes.

I shrieked from panic. I stumbled on a rock and fell on my butt.

Damien is aggressively fighting the air. While Damon moved so fast. He is kicking simultaneously as he turns side by side.

The unknown floats towards me. He tried to eye me using his toes. I tried slapping it away but it doesn’t budge.

I stopped and only closed my eyes waiting for it to finally sucked my soul because fighting it seems to hard.

A hand pets me in the head. When I opened my eyes his eyes are now gleaming in purple and blue shimmers.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

I briefly tried removing his hand away from my head.

“Go away fucker.” I shouted.

Damon turned into my side and quickly jabbed the unknown in his stomach causing it to bump the tree nearby him.

“She is the Divination!!”

“She is the Divination!!”

“She is the Divination!!”

All of them lined in a perfect parallel while wriggling their arms like they’re having a mild seizure.

A boom sounded and in a puff of the mist they’re all gone.

“You okay?” Damon asked.

For some reasons this might be the by far craziest situation I’ve encountered here in this place.

The tales are right, fantasy stories that tells shits happens sometimes.

“What do you think? I was mauled by that stupid headless thing.”

His features hardened and then smoothed out. “I think you’re okay.”

Damien eyed us both and ran off behind the tree. Once he appeared he is now in his human form.

“Sorry Damon I didn’t picked up you through the mind link.” Damien said while making sure his face is okay with the compact mirror I don’t know where it came from.

“They said she’s the divination.” Damon thick lashes lowered in my arm.

My brows knitted and my eyes lowered to my left wrist.

I gasped when blood stained my skin that engraved the number 8.

“What the”

I touched the mark and to my surprise it glowed. Gold shimmers pops out on the lining of the mark then it died down.

“She has the mark.” Damien looks horrified while looking at me. Like I’m sort of an expired moldy bread in his cabinet.

“They’re right… you’re the divination.” Damon gritted out.

“Divination? Is this some sort of your ploy?” I snarled at Damon. His jaw clenched while he wrapped his palm tightly on my wrist.

“Some sort of ploy? Seriously woman you ran away and we encountered them accidentally and you think this is some stupid ploy?” His blue eyes glued at me but I chose to look away.

A thousand retorts rose to the tip of my tongue as my head whipped toward him.

“The woman of divination or the princess of divination holds the most power in the world. She was once a girl who’s born with the primals and was cast out.” Damien explained while giving Damon an apologetic look.

“She is the one who held the anklet of divination that is bound to destroy the primals.” He continued.

I have so many questions to ask. But why did the Unknowns marked me as the divination.

“Primals?” I asked.

“The four creators of every lineage. And the owners of the four elements. They’re the fates and the massive brave of the creation of us.” Damon quietly said. He scanned the place to ensure our safety.

“Why would the Unknowns marked me as the divination if I’m not the princess or some sort?”

Damon motioned Damien to leave. Damien’s path didn’t trailed back in the house but deep in the forest.

“They’re the juris fate that’s disguised to be at their bad features to scare the sinners. And control the living and dead while the primals are asleep.” Damon answered.

“But why would they mark me? I’m literally a normal person that’s been shot and was found nearly dying not far from you pack. I’m a normal human person Damon. Don’t drag me in this stupidity.”

“You’re not human, this is not stupidity and we’ll eventually find out if you’ll stop fucking trying to escape.”

His words marked in my head as his ruthless arm wrapped around me.

Is he hugging me?

He looked at me in the eyes and his head fell in my shoulder.

“What is the divination?”

“The destroyer who bounds to end everything in her way…”
