Hidden Mafia King and the Fearless CEO

No chance to speak

Bryce’s face darkened. “What are you doing here, Irene?”

Jenica secretly looked around and raised the corners of her lips. Irene Mondragon, the fiancee of Bryce Desmana. And yes, Gray Mondragon’s cousin will be married to the president of the Desmana Group. Such a small world.

The old woman sitting on the high chair in the living room raised her eyebrows. Jenica is sure that this is Bryce’s mother and the current matriarch of the Desmana family.

“I told you, Bryce, don’t bring a woman into my house!” snorted the old man.

Bryce pursed his lips. “Mom, it’s not what you think –”

“Oh stop defending that gold digger, Bryce!” Irene suddenly snapped and threw a few pictures at the man. “My assistant sent me those photos. How dare you cheat behind my back? Did you think I wouldn’t know?”

The pictures that Irene threw landed on the floor. Bryce looked down at the pictures and his face darkened. “Didn’t I warn you not to put paparazzi on me?”

“Why?” Irene’s sharp gaze turned to him. “Are you afraid of me finding out your mistresses?”

Jenica sighed. “Sorry to disappoint you but your little wealth won’t entice me to seduce the young master of Desmana.” Everyone looked at her when she suddenly chirped in. Feeling their stares on her face, she blinked and grinned. “I’m Jane Lau, the new Vice President of Desmana Group.”

“What?!” cried the Desmanas.

Jenica smiled crudely and looked away. It was Bryce who explained and introduced her as a recruited professional who would help the company. She was not in the mood to play pretend with these hypocrites so she cheerfully followed the maid that Bryce had asked to lead her into her new room.

“Miss, if you need anything, just press the button on the side of the bed,” reminded the maid.

She just smiled and closed the door. As usual, she checked the entire room before taking out the laptop. She put on the earpiece and called the assistant. “Check Irene Mondragon if she has a connection with Jared.”

“Roger that,” said the assistant. “By the way Agent J, Alexander Fuego is back in the capital.”

The corner of her lips twitched. Of course she knew. “Got it,” she said then hung up.

She logged in to the secret website. Jenica didn’t inform HQ that she had created a secret website because she had plans to make accepting hacking missions a part-time job. It was her who personally gave access to business magnates in every country she visited due of her missions.

At that time there were only two members and over the years of her recruitment, it grew to fifty members. And each of these members have powerful influences that could shake a city’s entire economy.

There was nothing unusual on the website except that there was a mission posted privately for Code X, her.

When she opened the notification status, Jenica raised an eyebrow. That is about the shipment of poisonous needles to the South. Two trucks are currently missing and their contents are poisonous needles that were supposed to be transported to the capital.

Jenica gaze deepend and quickly searched the database for the name of the one who submitted the mission and her eyes widened.

It’s Dante Antonete!

“What a surprise!” she uttered and laughed. She quickly replied to Dante.

Code X: Do you want me to check who stole those trucks?

Anonymous: No. I want you to trace those trucks. Here’s the plate numbers.

Dante gave the truck’s plate number before it went offline. The corner of Jenica’s lips twitched. She didn’t remember giving Dante access to the website. She propped her head with her hand while staring at the monitor. How did that man get into her membership?

She squinted as she stared at the series of plate numbers. Well, what would she do now?

Jenica tapped something on the laptop and later accessed satellite images of the area where the two trucks were last seen. She also entered the CCTV footages in the nearby area and barangay until she saw the truck.

The corner of her lips twitched. The satellite image she got was a real-time image so she saw Agent Z and his elite assistants lowering the boxes of poisonous needles.

She picked up the phone and was about to call Agent Z but she stopped. How will she explain about Dante’s request? She has no plans to inform HQ of her identity as Code X and this sideline.

In the end, she didn’t call Agent Z and just gave the address where the trucks were parked to Dante Antonete.

Anonymous: Good job.

She blinked when she read Dante’s reply to her. If the HQ had not assigned the mission of the poisonous needles to another agent, this would surely be a big hint for her to enter the den of instigators. But right now? Her expression turned sour and she logged out of the secret website.

She’s not a saint to let others steal her hard work.

Just then someone knocked on the door of the room. Jenica opened it only to see the maid standing outside.

“Miss, Sir Bryce summoned you,” she announced.

Jenica peeked on her shoulder to look inside for a moment before following the maid to the study room at the end of the hallway in second floor. The maid opened the door and she stepped inside.

There she saw Bryce behind the large wooden table. He was looking down on a piece of paper, looking serious as he read it. She strode forward and sat on the visitor’s lair. Bryce put down what he was reading and looked at her.

“Are you satisfied with the accommodation?” he asked.

The corners of her lips rose and she shrugged. “I am, but for your family members? I don’t think so.”

“Did they make things hard for you?”

“Huh.” She laughed and raised a brow to the man with a smile. “Don’t be ridiculous. Your family does not pose a threat to me.”

“That’s good. If they make things hard for you, use my family token. It’s equivalent of seeing me.”

“I know.” Jenica looked around inside the study. “Why did you call for me?”

“There’s another attempt of disrupting the company’s network. We lost a hundred million.”

“I see.” She smiled at Bryce. “Can I play now?” she asked.

Bryce looked at her for a moment before beckoning her to come closer. She didn’t flinch when she went behind the desk and bent over to the laptop that the man had opened. Jenica saw the current company’s stock market.

“Your company’s stock market value is unstable,” she commented.

“It has always been,” said Bryce.

She looked at the man. Only then did she notice that her face was only a hair’s breadth away from his. Jenica blinked and simply turned her face away. “Alright. Give me your laptop. I’ll chase away those bad guys.”

Bryce looked up at her. “What reward do you want to receive?” he asked before giving her the laptop.

The corner of Jenica’s lips twitched. She looked at the man again and smiled widely. Then she crouched down and brought her face close to his. “Boss, it’s bad to be too kind. Maybe later on, you’ll just wake up one day to find your house gone.”

“Don’t worry. You can’t steal my ancestral house,” he said.

“Why not?” Jenica retorted, laughing before walking to the sofa with the laptop in her hands. She sat and started working.

She stabilized the company’s internal system first and started chasing the intruders. It was five versus one so Jenica had a bit of a hard time. It’s not that those intruders were strong but they bullied her with numbers. Of course, she has a lot of confidence to beat those small bugs, it’s just harder than usual because she’s alone.

“Done!” she said after several hours of dealing with the hackers. She looked at Bryce. “Last time, I already ensured the company’s firewall. Supposedly, your security shouldn’t have been bypassed so quickly by those idiots.”

“So it’s an inside job?” Bryce’s face contorted.

“You’re smart.” She smiled and stood up. “Why don’t we take a look at your company’s server? We might pick up treasures along the way?”

‘Treasures my ass,’ Bryce thought to himself.

He could do nothing but take Jenica out of the mansion and into the company. When the Desmanas saw that Bryce was leaving with Jenica, their faces soured.

It was Bryce’s fiancee who called out first. “Where do you think you’re going with this suspicious woman, Bryce?!”

Jenica helplessly looked at Irene Mondragon whose nose was puffing up in annoyance. She smiled at the woman. “Don’t make that face. You look ugly!”

“B*tch!” Irene was mad and was about to attack Jenica when the Desmanas’ daughter-in-law stopped her.

The daughter-in-law shook her head at Irene before looking at her. The woman had the nerve to look at her from head to toe. The corner of Jenica’s lips twitched. The Desmana has a good heart to let their daughter-in-law find fault with the Young Master’s guest.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

“Bryce, you have a fiancee and the people know about it. It won’t be good for your reputation if you keep hanging out with a woman of unknown origin even if this woman claims to have a way to help our family’s company.”

Ah, what a reasonable excuse. Jenica has to take a second look at this daughter-in-law. It seems that Bryce is not the only ‘smart’ in this household.

Bryce smiled at the woman. “I know what I’m doing.” He looked at Irene before turning his gaze again to the daughter-in-law of the Desmanas. “I’ll be back later. Since my fiancee is here, sister, you can bring her around the place to take a look.”

“No problem. Just know your limits,” the woman said and simply looked at Jenica as if warning her.

Jenica smiled at the woman before following Bryce out of the mansion.

“Your sister-in-law seems close to you,” she said to Bryce when she got into his car.

“She’s a good woman,” Bryce said before driving the car to the company.

It was Bryce who drove the car himself because he wanted to talk with Jenica in private about his plans for the company. She listened to him and gave comments from time to time.

When they arrived at the company, they were immediately greeted by the board of directors who were looking down on Jenica.

“Mr. President, isn’t it inappropriate to appoint someone in the Vice President’s position without asking the board’s opinion?” asked a man in his mid-50s. He might be the head of the board of directors.

Her assistant gave her the identity of the old man. And she’s not surprised to know that this old man is the uncle of Irene Mondragon. If the board knows that she and Bryce will visit the company, then someone has tipped these old men off. She wouldn’t be surprised if Irene told the head of the board of their upcoming visit.

Jenica knows that the current Vice President of the Desmanas has the surname Mondragon. Of course, the relatives of Gray Mondragon should take care of each other. It’s just interesting that Mondragon’s holding a high position in Desmana Group.

Suddenly the door of the meeting room opened and the acting Vice President of the Desmana Group entered. It was a man in his mid-30s. He was glaring at Jenica. “Mr. President! I won’t agree to let someone unknown take my position. It is risky to let a woman hold a position in the company!”

Jenica blinked. “Hey, are you looking down on women?” The corner of the man’s lips twitched so she smiled. “It’s not in the 80s anymore. Women can fight for a position nowadays. And some might be better than you, Sir.”

“I won’t disagree with the President if he will appoint someone whom I know is capable of holding this position. But for you?” His face was messed up. “I don’t know who you are and your capabilities. Are you sure you can hold this position longer than I?”

A smile spread across Jenica’s lips and she looked at Bryce. “I didn’t know that the President must ask permission to the Vice President before making a decision for the company. It seems like this position can trample the President’s office.”

The faces of the Vice President and the board of directors soured. This woman is clearly sowing discord between them!

“My father is not someone you can make fun of, Miss!” A woman entered the meeting room with a strict expression.

The board of directors stood up together and smiled at the newcomer. “Miss Mondragon! Are you back for good?” asked the head of the board.

The newly arrived woman smiled and looked around the people present inside the meeting room, and her gaze stopped at Jenica. “Although my body is not yet recovered, but I heard something unpleasant is going on in the company. So I decided to appear and take back my position else someone might steal my hard work. I guess, I’m not wrong.” Her sharp gaze made Jenica grimace secretly. “So this woman is the one causing ruckus inside the company? How dare you? Guards! Throw her out of the company!”

Jenica was speechless for a moment. Come on, that woman didn’t even give her a chance to speak!
