Her Return, His Regret

Chapter 116~ A date with Mommy

"Mommy, would you like to go on a date with us?" Ethan asked Lora over the weekend.

Lora arched an eyebrow. She was seated in the garden, relaxing on a swing and reading one of her favorite books. Ryan had gone on a business trip to seal a deal, so he wasn't around to keep her busy.

She looked at Ethan and laughed, "A date? Can you afford one?"

"Of course!" Ethan responded and took out a black card. "Big Grandpa gave us our allowance and we want to spoil you."

Lora's eyes widened as she stared at the card meant for VIPs. Who gives a five-year-old an unlimited card as an allowance?

Lora sighed, stretching her hand to cup Ethan's face. She replied, "Thank you, sweetheart. But this is your allowance... you get what you want. Mommy already has money."

"I know you have money, but we just want to do something special for you... please?" Ethan remarked, batting his eyes.

Lora chuckled, amused at Ethan's attempt to act cute. It was rare to see him like this, so she gave in. "Fine... but we won't spend too much. You should save or invest your allowance to make it bigger."

When they passed through the living room, Lora glanced at her parents and said, "We are going out for a bit."

"You've agreed to go on a date with us?" Ella asked excitedly, she had been waiting inside the mansion as Ethan did the needful.

"Yes, I have," Lora replied. "Anything for you my darlings."

"Yeah!" Ella squeaked, jumping up and down. "We are going to have so much fun, Mommy. You will see."

Freya and Jack Davis looked at Lora. They were seated on a two-seater couch in the living room, enjoying a movie.

Freya smiled and remarked, "Have fun. See you soon."

Jack nodded. He smirked and wrapped a hand around Freya's shoulders before saying, "Take your time... I want to spend time with my wife."

Lora rolled her eyes and led the kids out of the house. The driver was already waiting so, they got into the car and left.

"So, what do you have planned for our date?" Lora asked.

Ethan smiled and said, "We are going to an island!"

"What?" Lora exclaimed, her eyes rounding in shock. "H-how? What island? And why is the date so grand?"

She thought they just wanted to take her to the theme park and then they would get some pizza and ice cream like always.

"Relax, Mommy," Ethan remarked before taking out the black card again. "We have everything under control. The island belongs to big Grandpa, which means it belongs to Daddy and that means it belongs to us."

Lora arched an eyebrow. She didn't want the twins to take advantage of Charles' kindness.

"Find another place where we will have the date. We can't go to the island-"

"No, Mommy, everything has been arranged already. We can't cancel now... don't you feel sorry for the workers who've put in effort in planning this date?" Ethan reasoned. "Besides, big Grandpa will be sad if we don't use his money. He said he wanted to do something for his great-grandkids and we chose to take you on a date."

"Please don't say no, Mommy," Ella pleaded, backing her brother up.

Lora sighed, realising the old man wanted to compensate for lost time. She looked at the twins and remarked, "Let me inform your father-"

"Daddy already knows, Mommy. He told us to make you happy while he's away," Ethan stated. "It's going to be fun."

Lora saw that the children were eager, so she relented.

To her surprise, the first destination was a clothing store at the shopping mall.

Lora arched an eyebrow and asked, "What are we doing here?"

"Mommy, don't ask so many questions. We are here to buy you a dress," Ethan replied. "You need a nice dress for our date."

Lora sighed and just went along with what the kids had planned. They went into the store and Lora was given a rose gold gown to change into. Although Lora was confused, she went along with everything. She stayed calm even when the stylist came to work on her makeup and hair. When Lora left the dressing room, she found the kids had changed too.

Ella was a in princess rose gold gown, with her hair pulled up and styled while Ethan was a in small navy suit with a rose gold bowtie. It was like they were going to @gala or something.

"Ok, spill. What's going on? Did your father put you up to this? What is he planning? Tell me," Lora demanded, unable to keep calm anymore.

By now, she had figured out Ryan had something to do with this. It was too perfectly planned out to be the children's idea alone. Was he going to....?

Ella was about to reply but Ethan

beat her to it and said, "What are you

going on a date. When we arrive at the island, we will have dinner and have a photoshoot. That's why we've dressed up."

Lora narrowed her eyes at Ethan but the boy's face did nothing to betray his emotions. He was so good at acting.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

Lora sighed again, she knew the twins were hiding something from her. However, she wasn't going to call them out. Since they tried their best to keep it a secret, she would go along with it.

The bodyguard led Lora and the kids to the rooftop where a helicopter was waiting. Lora didn't think much of it since it was the fastest way to get to the island. However, she did think about how expensive this date was. Weren't the Kingsleys spoiling the twins too much? Even if Ryan planned something, this was too extravagant.

"Mom, come on. Relax... you look so stiff," Ethan remarked when they entered the helicopter.

Lora frowned at her son but she giggled, thinking he looked cute trying to act like an adult.

Soon, the helicopter left the rooftop and flew into the sky. The hum of the helicopter blades filled Lora's ears as she gazed out the window, taking in the sweeping landscape below. She was mesmerised by the greenery and the distant mountains, they looked so breathtaking looking at them from this angle.

After some time, Ethan suddenly exclaimed through the headphones, "Wow! Mommy, look!"

Lora glanced down through the window and her heart skipped a beat at what she saw.

A heart shape was carefully crafted against the ground, outlined with bright red and white flowers.

Lora's breath caught in her throat when the heart shape became clearer as the helicopter got closer to the ground.

Inside the heart, white roses were used to vividly write the words,

[Will you marry me again, Lora Davis?]
