Chapter 103~ An action movie
"A movie date?" Lora asked when she looked at the theater in front of them.
"Yes... it's during the week and it's not crowded, so we can watch a movie. I would have wanted to book the whole place but I thought you would love to have a full experience," Ryan replied, smiling. Lora glanced at him and said, "Since when are you into movies? You used to say they bore you."
Ryan chuckled awkwardly and replied, "I'm still not into movies but for you, I can watch a thousand movies if it means it would make you happy."
Lora smiled faintly. She recalled how she used to arrange for movie date nights, however, Ryan wasn't into that in the past.
In fact, they never went on dates or hang out together. However, it was different this time. Ryan was making the effort and she appreciated it.
"So, what are we watching?" Lora asked as they walked towards the counter to stand in line just like everyone else.
Ryan glanced at the screen and said, "Well, I don't know what you like. We can watch a romantic movie-"
"No, I'm into action movies," Lora remarked.
"Really?" Ryan replied. "I never knew that but I'm glad I do now."
They chose a thrilling action movie before getting 3D glasses.
Ryan bought popcorn and some slushie drinks before leading Lora into the dimly lit theater.
Lora could see that Ryan was somewhat lost. She glanced at him and whispered, "You've never been to a movie theater before?"
"I didn't have to since there's one at home," Ryan replied, feeling uncomfortable when he felt like all eyes were on them.
"That's different... going to a theater is more fun," Lora remarked.
Seeing the sparkle in Lora's eyes, Ryan knew he had made the right choice. He nodded and said, "Let's find our seats."
A little while later, the couple was settled into the plush leather seats of the theater. Ryan balanced the tray of popcorn on his lap, while Lora rested her head on his shoulder.
Soon, the screen lit up and the movie started soon after.
Lora had a huge grin on her face as she raised her head to glance at the screen. She looked so excited like a child who had just been given her favorite candy.
The movie had intense scenes of gun fights, martial arts and explosions. Lora's heart couldn't stop racing as she watched. When debris seemed to be flying towards her face, she gasped and held Ryan's shirt tightly, the 3D effects giving her a vivid experience. "Are you ok, baby?" Ryan asked worriedly, recalling that Lora had trauma with explosions.
"Of course!" Lora whispered. "This is so cool! I haven't watched an action movie in six years! Now I can!"
Ryan glanced at Lora, the smile on her face filling his heart with warmth. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen.
How could he get so lucky?
Lora felt a heated gaze on her and turned to glance at Ryan, only to find him watching her.
She frowned and said, "You're not even watching."
"I'm watching you... I could look at you all night and still wonder how God was able to make you so remarkably. You're beautiful, baby," Ryan whispered and Lora blushed profusely.
They continued to watch the movie and when it was done, they walked out of the theater, still wearing their 3D glasses like a pair of kids.
Ryan coiled his arm around Lora's waist and remarked, "This was fun... we should do this often."
"I thought you prefer financial investment books and movies are boring for you," Lora stated.
"Well, if I watched a movie alone, I would find it boring. However, everything I do with you is so interesting," Ryan uttered.
"I loved it too... it felt good watching the movie with you," Lora responded. "So, what's next?"Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"Dinner at our penthouse," Ryan proclaimed.
Lora arched an eyebrow and said, "Don't tell me you're cooking. I can still see images of the burnt eggs you made."
Ryan chuckled. "No... the chef will do
the cooking. I would have taken you to a nice restaurant but remember, I promised that you would get eaten tonight... so, the penthouse is a better venue." en
Lora's cheeks flushed pink, her stomach fluttering with butterflies.
It didn't take long for Lora and Ryan to arrive at the penthouse. When they walked in, Lora gasped, her breath catching in her throat.
The place was dimly lit with fairytale
lights hanging over the ceiling. Scented candles were placed all around the apartment, providing the place with a fragrance that soothed one's soul. en
A table for two was set up in the living room.
"I didn't know it was a candlelight dinner," Lora uttered, arching an eyebrow. However, her heart was racing at a thousand miles per minute.
"I hope you like it," Ryan replied. He placed his hand on the small of Lora's back and led her to the table before helping her take a seat.
He walked over to the other chair and took a seat before saying, "Let's eat. I'm sure you're starving."
Although they were in the penthouse, the dim lighting and soft background music gave the place a romantic ambience.
Lora felt like she was a lead character in a fairytale movie.
She felt so special.
At the same time, Ryan kept stealing glances at Lora. His heart leapt with joy when he saw the smile on her face.
"So, how was our first date?" Ryan asked as they ate.
"It was... lovely. Thank you, Ryan. I had a good time," Lora replied, her heart swelling with love.
They continued to chat about this and that as they ate their food. When they were done, Ryan got to his feet and approached Lora.
He then got down on his knees and asked, "How was the food?"
"It was good," Lora replied, looking down at him.
"And the dessert?" Ryan asked again with an arched eyebrow.
"It was delicious," Lora answered. She frowned and said, "Although I didn't see you eat any dessert..."
"That's because..." Ryan trailed in his deep husky voice. He slid his hand between Lora's thighs and declared, "I'm having you for dessert."
