Her Poison His cure: Behind The Mask

Chapter 32 I Hate You, I Love You Too Honey.

I sat still watching my brother guards examining his wound. I still couldn’t get over what happened. I can’t believe I stabbed my brother with an arrow. What the hell got over me.

“I am fine” He said to one of his guards who kept asking if he was alright, he is the one closer to my brother and head of his guards.

They both behave like friends. One wouldn’t believe it if they were told they are master and servant.

“Are you sure?” he asked, looking at his wound again. He probably worried for his friend.

Yes I am all alright. Don’t worry it’s not something big”Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Finally I regained my senses and quickly stood up and moved closer to him.

“I am sorry. I really didn’t know what got over me” I apologised as I neared him. His guards quickly make way for me to stand in front of him.

“Your highness has to go to the royal conference. Will you be alright?” His head guard said.

My mind went blank when I heard that, and knowing he couldn’t afford to miss the royal conference I sighed deeply. My brother has been a regent for father for the last four years. After the incident that took place Five years ago, a lot has changed. Father became sick the following years and since his illness my brother has been taking care of the country affair on his behalf. Well that’s his duty as the crown prince anyway.

Court lady Chun never worked for me again. Sparing her life was a way of thanking her for all motherly love and that was my only way of saving her life. I personally removed her as my court lady and refused another court lady when my mother proposed one to me. I just don’t want a court lady, my maids and Na ji hye are doing the job a court lady would have possibly done for me.

I took interest in archery and swordsmanship at first just to get away from the burden of my thoughts and boredom, but as time went on it later became something I enjoy doing naturally that I used to spend almost half of my days on the training ground. I propose to have a sword fight with my brother so as to know my weakness, and for that to happen I need an opponent whose skill is unknown to me. My brother is the perfect person for that since all those guards I used to have a march with always end up being defeated by me.

He was practically beating me in the game. I finally knew my weakness from our fight and was planning to surrender when suddenly I blindly took an arrow and drove it into his arm. Why I did that still puzzles me. I know it doesn’t make sense for me to say I didn’t know but sincerely I truly didn’t know what came over me.

I took hold of his arm examining his wound and cursed myself mentally when I saw the wound would have gotten deep if he didn’t back away from me immediately.

“Don’t worry princess. I am fine, ”my brother said, seeing the concern look on my face. He smiled slightly at me.

“Let me help you back to your chamber” his guard-friend offered.

My brother nodded and pinched my cheek before leaving with his guards.

I watched him intently as he left with his guards and inhaled deeply.

“Your highness. Are you okay” I heard Na ji hye say behind me and I turned back to see her and the other maids standing very close to me.

I nodded and headed toward the direction that led to my chamber.

“Her highness sent for you” Na ji hye said as she and the maids rushed forward to catch up with me.

“She sent her court lady but you were busy with your training then” she added.

“Alright” I mumbled silently and changed my way to mother quarter.

The guards and maids we came across bow their heads courteously when they see me.

In no time I reached my mother’s chamber and the maids at the door announced my presence. I entered after getting access from my mother.

Mother was eating with Kang hwan, my younger brother. My steps stopped on track as I looked closely at him and mother wondering why they were just having breakfast by now and with his teacher for his classes.

“Hwan. What are you doing here?. Aren’t you supposed to be with your teacher” I asked, walking further inside the room but the rude brat didn’t even raise his head up from his food nor answer my questions.

I smacked the back of his head when I got to his side and scoffed loudly.

“Ha. Why are you hitting me now?” He said grumpily. His mouth was full with his food.

“Don’t you hear my question?” I glared at him.

“As you can see I am having my breakfast” he answered, nodding his head to the surasang set on the table which includes rice and soup, as well as stew, hot pot, kimchi and sauce.

I Snorted and dragged myself down toward the laid cover on the floor, sloping on it gently.

” Like I didn’t know you were eating. I am asking why you are here instead of being with your teachers. I am sure they are waiting for you”

I narrowed my eyes on him and the little brat is still not bothered by my words.

“Let me eat in peace. Isn’t it my mother that called me to eat breakfast with her.” he finally replied when he saw I was going to back down with my glare.

This brat is only five year old but his pompous attitude is over the hill. He is always finding excuse to skip his classes and his teacher has taken it a daily routine to report him to me and my brother. We tried our best to send some sense into his brain but that brain of his refused to heed to anything told him.

Having Kang Hwan as a brother is a big load on my shoulder because this kid always make sure he annoyed me but it a blessing having a sweet brother who care for but is annoying right.

“Always finding an excuse to skip classes” I gritted out.

“Are you saying I am lazy?” he pouted at me but since his mouth was full with food, he ended up spouting some of the food from his mouth on my face.

“Hey. What the hell is this?” I shouted, touching the rice on my face.

“Sorry” he said and start cleaning my face with his hand but he end up messing with my face more.

He grinned and smiles sheepishly. From the corner of my eyes I could see mother trying to hold her laugh.

I slapped his hand off my cheek and grabbed his ear twisting it really hard. he groaned and silently begged me to let him go.

“Nunim. I am begging you. Let go of my ear please.” he clasped his hand infront of my face.

Nunim is a tittle used for an elder sister but these brat here called me by my name. he only using the tittle now because of my grip on his ear.

Mother couldn’t hold it in anymore and bursted into laughter at our bickering. I have totally forget about her.

His face wreckled in pain and he look up at mother for help.

“Let him go. Suk” Mother finally said after laughing to her heart content.

I released his ear and pushed him away slightly from me and threw him a glare. He rubbed his ear to sooth the pain.

I simply laughed at his expression and make a mockery face to him.

“I hate you” he said, standing up.

“I love you too, honey” I blew a kiss to him but he dodge it.

“Don’t talk to me” he said and ran out while I laugh my ass out.

“As you are going, make sure you are going to your teachers” I shouted after him but didn’t get any reply.

It great to see him annoyed. Hwan is a foodie. he and food are best friends and seeing him abandoned his food in anger. I guess he must be really angry but he will come around soon. I know my brother he isn’t the type to stay angry for a long time, he will soon come running to me with his annoying attitude.
