You’re so scary
After that night of slow romance, Rebecca woke up with a renewed perspective. The first person she saw when she opened her eyes was none other than her one and only love.
She stared at him carefully as he slept. His high French nose and hard facial lines that she always wanted to touch She remembered the first time they met. It might have been love at first sight, but she acted differently.
Last night, that was unexpected, and Rebecca didn’t regret doing that because she knew that Emerson loved her as much as she loved him. She kept holding on to his words that he would never leave her, no matter what happened.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
“You’re awake, Milady,” Kwan said in a sleepy voice.
Even with his voice, Rebecca couldn’t help but fall in love. She loved listening to his voice, whether it was Emerson’s or Kwan’s.
“Wanna have some coffee?” Kwan asked as he sat down on the bed. He took his shirt from the floor and wore it. “What happened last night?”
“Are you serious?” Rebecca replied in a shocked tone. “We did-”
“Shhh-” Kwan put his finger on Rebecca’s lips to hush her up. “You should keep it a secret for now until it has a result.”
“But why? Don’t you want me to tell my parents about this? They might be worried about me. Perhaps they’re thinking about me now.”
“I know, your parents are always worried about you. But they don’t have to because I’m here. I won’t let anyone touch you. Kwan winked as he stared directly into Rebecca’s eyes.
Rebecca closed her eyes when Kwan slowly moved his face near her. But he stopped an inch away and said, “You should brush your teeth, milady. You really stink.” He covered his nose.
Rebecca felt embarrassed by what her future husband said, so she stood up and followed him inside the kitchen, where Wen was preparing their breakfast. She continued inside the washroom and washed her mouth.
“You should go shopping later, Wen. Rebecca didn’t bring anything. She doesn’t have any clothes; you should buy her,” Kwan said.
“Me, Sir?” Wen asked. “But I don’t have any money.”
“That’s not the problem; I’ll give you money with your salary. What I’m worried about is that there might be someone who knew her, so she should act like someone else,” Kwan replied as he blended his coffee.
“You’re not going with us?” Wen asked.
“I don’t like shopping, and I still have something to do. So, I’m trusting Rebecca to you. You should protect her if you don’t want to die,” Kwan warned.
“You’re so scary, sir. Don’t worry, she doesn’t know that I’m not really your maid,” Wen replied as she swayed her long black hair.
Wen was Kwan’s best friend and his sidekick. Although she looks like a weak woman, she never forgives those who hurt her or her boss. There were a lot of times that they went on missions together.
“Thanks, Wen. You’re always there whenever I need your help. You’re always there to save me when I almost died. You were the one who saved me from Brandon’s men,” Kwan said.
“It’s my job, so what can I do?” Wen replied. “We were friends since that time you left your home because you’d killed your brother. I still remember that was the first crime you’d ever done.”
“Shhhh. Stop talking about my past. Rebecca might hear you. There are a lot of things she doesn’t know about me, so you better watch your mouth if she asks you anything about it,” Kwan informed.
“So, she is that woman you talked about?” Wen asked. “How come? It’s the first time that you fell in love with your target. What did you see in her that made you fall in love?”
“I can’t see it,” Kwan replied. “She’s perfect in my eyes.”
“I see. She’s pretty, but you still need to be careful of the people you don’t completely know. She might be beautiful when you don’t see her ugly side,” Wen reminded as she put a plate of chicken curry on the table.
“Well, she doesn’t have any ugly sides, except what she did last night. She was so hot that I couldn’t resist her enticing beauty,” Kwan replied.
“You mean, you did-” Wen didn’t finish her words when Rebecca entered the dining room and walked towards them.
Yes, we did,” Kwan replied as he offered a cup of coffee to Rebecca.
“We did what?” Rebecca asked as she accepted the cup. “What were you talking about? Did I miss something?”
“Not really. I just asked Wen if she could join you to go shopping later,” Kwan replied. “How about you? Do you have plans later?
“I thought there were many people in your house because it looks huge from outside. Don’t you feel boring living here all alone? You don’t even have any pets like a cat or something like that,” Rebecca said as she sat down on the chair by the table.
“I’m allergic to pets, but if you want to have any, you can adopt one from the pet store; Wen will help you choose.” Kwan smiled.
“Why won’t you just join me? You’re doing creepy things again?” Rebecca asked. “I thought you brought me here to stay, but it seems that you’re leaving me again.”
“I’m just caught up with work. I’m looking for any decent job, so you should help yourself when I’m not here. But don’t worry because I’ll be back every day. Just call me if you miss me,” Kwan said.
Rebecca sighed as she hold her chin on the table, thinking that she has been used to living a bored life ever since she was little, there was no one to play with, no one to talk with, except the silence. She wished to change everything, but it seemed to happen again.
“I’m sorry, Rebecca, if you don’t like to live like this, but you’ve got to be patient because we can’t get everything we want. If I can only give you a happy life, I already did,” Kwan apologized.
“I think I should get out first,” Wen interrupted. “I don’t want to listen to a couple’s discord. I really hate arguments.”
“No!” Kwan and Rebecca simultaneously exclaimed as they stood up straight. “You’re not going to leave. I’m leaving!” They walked out together and continued to the balcony to get ventilated. Both of them are aware of each other’s presence, but there’s a disagreement that blocks their understanding.
“Rebecca, Kwan,” they simultaneously said each other’s names again.
“Okay, lady’s first,” Kwan replied. “What do you want to tell me?”
“I just want to say sorry for my behavior. I just want to have a happy and not boring life like how I used to; that’s why I said those words,” Rebecca said in a serious tone. “But I still respect your decisions.”
“Milady, I’m sorry if I can’t offer you the kind of life that you want. But I’m willing to change anything if you want me to. I’m always open to your suggestions, so don’t be shy to tell me your thoughts.”
